Amazing value for money, only stayed one night but got a good nights sleep and only paid a little amount for it.
One of the towels had stains on from previous people, didn’t appear washed
The bar area and ground floor public areas look really lovely....... and then you get in the lift and head to your room.....
This property is in a super run down and rough part of Birmingham. I booked it as it was relatively cheap and the photos looked nice. I don’t know Birmingham but when I told a friend who’s a local where I was, she’s simply replied - What on EARTH are you doing there??? It’s not somewhere you’d want to be out and about alone at night. The rooms are more halls of residence style basic rooms than hotel rooms. The walls in the hallways are smashed, heaters hanging off the walls, dirty stained carpets and we were offered drugs whilst we were on our way to our room. Room itself was super super basic. I wouldn’t say it was dirty but it wasn’t anything like what we expected. The bathroom was bright and clean. Bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Heaven only knows how old and worn the mattress was! We felt like we were in a drugs den. Definitely wouldn’t stay here again.
The shower and the television were the best I’ve had on any UK trip. It’s an easy walk to Edgbaston for the cricket.
It’s not a very nice part of Birmingham, it’s not a walk I would do alone after dark. The bar staff were great but were forever running out of cold beer.
The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly
It states free parking but it’s just a street ie on a first come basis, very dodgy area my vehicle got broken into and stuff taken.
Good value for money
Corridors above the foyer are bare and need a repaint, they look worn out. I had 2 stays back to back and had requested to not have to change rooms or check out. Whilst I was told before I arrived and when I checked in that this would be perfectly fine, this information was not well shared as twice in the morning a member of staff came to the room to see why I hadn't checked out. Everyone was very polite, but it was irritating and inconvenient.
Birmingham is one of the United Kingdom’s great cities, and as the second largest city in England, there are lots of different expectations travelers have for hotels located in the city. Travelers expect that hotels provide excellent value and take care of the most basic amenities with aplomb. They expect that whether they are in town for business or pleasure, that their expectations are met time and again. There are many hotels in the city of Birmingham that take this idea to heart, however one of the most successful at doing so is the Rowton Hotel. The Rowton Hotel towers above the landscape and its historic architecture is a throwback to when customer service wasn’t just a buzzword, but a way of life. The hotel has lots of great amenities and its location in the city makes it easy to get to all of Birmingham’s great attractions. The service is perhaps the best place to start, the team at the hotel makes sure that all guest requests are fulfilled right away. There is no hesitation with getting all the important tasks done for guests. With free internet, business and leisure travelers can get a jump on the day’s affairs. Finally, with breakfast, conference facilities, and more, there’s something for all types of travelers heading to Birmingham. When looking for a great hotel that gives guests everything they need for a great stay in Birmingham, the Rowton Hotel is head and shoulders above the rest. Great service and great amenities make this hotel a great option.
