Understaffed, so waited >1hr to get car. Budget was the only rental co with any remaining cars, and there were just way too many people for them to process. From that point forward everything was great, though. Car was perfect for our purposes. No issues, easy return. Would rent from them againReviewed 6 Feb. 2022

The customer service rep was great. She was polite and helpful even though she faced a long line that ran out the door of the car rental depot in SJU. I stood in line for over an hour and a half to receive my vehicle. The vehicle had major collision damage on the driver side rear of the car. It had major dents and dings throughout the vehicle. The shocks were also in terrible shape and made horrendous noises at the slightest movement. I understand this is Puerto Rico. The roads and other drivers make operating a vehicle tough. But this car was in need of both cosmetic and structural repair. It was also filthy and smelled of mold. I didn’t ask for another car because this one worker had a line of at least 50 customers. And I didn’t feel like waiting in that line again. I hope Budget reads this and gets her help.Reviewed 10 Jan. 2022

Loved that they did not push random car insurances and made me feel bad with guilt declining some extras. Other car rental companies pushes you to have their insurances and other stuff that is not really needed. I would only suggest to make it more visible and more clear that they will have some $200 on hold even when you are 25+ years old and use a credit card. The counter only said they would need some money on hols for Debit card and younger drivers. I was able to have enough funds; but be aware to have that amount or more for the tolls as well.Reviewed 11 Nov. 2021

The Budget/Avis staff in San Juan airport was friendly and helpful. She was bilingual, which was great since no one in my family speaks Spanish. The problem was that only Avis and Budget had the larger cars, so although there were your typical car rental places at the airport, there was a huge line to get through because it seemed that a lot of travelers wanted larger cars/SUVs/minivans. I think I waited in line for over an hour to get my car because there were only 2 people working at the desk between the Budget and Avis counters (they must be owned by the same company because they had one line feeding both car rental counters). They could have made this better by having more people at the desk to help get through the line. Drop off was a breeze. They checked us in and we were out of there in 5 minutes.Reviewed 29 Aug. 2021
