As I don’t rent a vehicle that often I was shocked to find, that by using a 3rd party vender(kayak), their quotes are not honoured. I was also shocked to learn that there are no free kilometres anymore. I believe the rental companies should be made to provide clean safe vehicles to their customers. This should include all lights working, windshield wipers in working order, all fluid levels at their proper levels especially washer fluid and engine oil and that all tires have be inflated to the vehicle guidelines and most importantly that the remaining tread on the tire be above the wear bars indicated on the tire The vehicle I was given was clean but the windshield had not been cleaned on the inside and was very dirty either with dust or smoke, one windshield wiper nearly fell off. Also, the vehicle I was given had BALD tires. This was not noticed as I picked it up near dark. Thankfully we did not have to drive in rain that night. There was no tread left on 1 tire and the remaining tires had maybe 5% to 10% tread remaining. Totally unacceptableReviewed 2 Oct. 2022
