I live in Florida and was delayed getting to providence RI. The website said they would honor my reservation up to 24 hrs past pick up time due to the hurricane. My delay was going to be closer to 30 hrs due to changes and flight cancellations. I called Budget twice to confirm they would hold my reservation longer than the 24 hours, and was told both times they would hold the reservation. When I called a third time to confirm, they told me they canceled my reservation and had no other cars available in providence. I had to rebook with another car company for $150 more than my reservation with budget. I won’t be renting from them again anytime in the future.Reviewed 18 Oct 2024

Pros:This location was not very busy so things went very quickly.Cons:The vehicle I rented had clearly been smoked in by a previous renter (who --by the intensity of the odor --was likely a long-term renter). Rather than cleaning the rugs properly, an even nastier freshener was used, so I had to keep the windows open the whole time. The car also needed an alignment (highway vibration). The manager seemed appropriately concerned and gracious when I returned the vehicle so other than vehicle condition a good experience. .Reviewed 25 Apr 2021

Pros:The staff was very nice. The parking garage is NOT user friendly unless perhaps you are traveling by plane. I was dropped off by car at the front of the building. The elevator only goes to the third floor. Finally found a person who looked employed there, he informed me I was wrong. Then directed me to a different elevator that did indeed go to 4th floor. Did see Avis but did not see Budget except for a booth. Went over there who told me Budget is where Avis is. Would have liked some indication of where things are located so I did not have to wonder around a parking garage feeling lost.Cons:I would LOVE to see some simple hints for using each car. After multiple times "pushing" start button the dashboard finally said step on the brake while pushing start. Then I could not find how to open the gas tank. Moving the side mirrors. Opening the rear door on the SUV. All these modern updates are very nice, once you know how they function!. No user manual in glovebox. Even a simple laminated card somewhere would do nicely.Reviewed 25 Nov 2020
