Stay here a lot however this trip was poor, the room bath was filthy, could not call reception as no directory Advising reception number, under floor heating didn’t work, no soap in the shower and when we went to bed could hear the Aircon heater next door going on and off, we were moved next day to another room however only got occupation at 16h30, that evening the bath water leaked all over the floor, it was a faulty towers visit, hope they sort their issues out as we love the place, management need to kick some butt here
Breakfast was great. Gentlemen that worked at entry to property were great.
Front office staff member not very welcoming. Didn’t realize there would be dogs inside. Pathway to our room unstable with loose pavers. Grounds could do with cleaning up, particularly down near beach gate.
The location is beautiful, we did a little exploring of the grounds and found it to be so peaceful and tranquil. The staff are really helpful and friendly. A Big ups to the chef! We had dinner and a bottle of wine and it was perfect! both the Gnocci and the steak :D its a definite yes to coming back again, especially during the summer time to fully take advantage of the pool and spa facilities.
Beautiful period manor house, well furnished in matching style. Room 1 was immaculate, with two balconies offering magnificent mountain and sea views and a fireplace. Beautiful gardens. With proper staff training and actual management supervision, this hotel could be what it proclaims to be - a five star boutique hotel!
The staff serving breakfast were entirely inattentive. Vuvu, in particular, distinguished herself by disappearing from the dining room for ages to busy herself with her cellphone in the bar area or to warm herself by the fire in the lounge. Dinner in the Von Kampff restaurant was dismal and expensive for the type of food served. Fireplace in the room wasn't cleaned after use, nor wood replenished. Eaten rusks not replaced. It takes three calls to get drinks delivered to the room. Never saw anyone resembling management over the four day stay.
