They wouldn’t let me get it cause I had a debit card even though I rented from them just a few days before…I was leaving that day and then had to scramble to find another car. I had a friend with me who could have rented the car but they said they didn’t have any…but what about the car I was suppose to rent…they refused to put it in her name…will never go through them again

Compact SUV

I was able to make a reservation for a car that did not exist. Ridiculous. Had to use another provider who had cars available 3 hours later. Customer service was also far more accommodating. I had two little kids & all our luggage. Had to Uber back to where we had been staying, then back later to get available car with other provider. Could have saved a lot of time & money in advance if I had just known there were not going to be any cars. Never again.

Counter man was helpful and friendly. The issue is corporate! I had a confirmed reservation as did all eight people in line in front of me. The first two of us got cars. All the rest of us were told there were no cars available. While I was there, a truck showed up from Detroit to haul away cars from the Kalamazoo fleet, decimating it, and I’m sure the same thing had happened previously, causing the lack of cars. BAD CORPORATE DECISION! If I can’t count on a reservation being honored, I’ll never rely on that company again.

Luxury

Reservation was confirmed on Kayak. When I arrived at the Enterprise location, the only employee there said they had no cars for the next three days. When I asked about my confirmed reservation, she said “We don’t have access to the ‘online system’”. That was her only response. No explanation, No apology. I’ll never rent from Enterprise again, and I will not use Kayak to make a reservation with anyone.

Pros:

The car drove smoothly.

Cons:

We were already on our way to pick up the car at one location when we received a call that that location was closed and we had to pick up at a different one that was farther away. We should have been notified much sooner, as we were needing to get on the road for our trip. At this new location, the Kalamazoo airport, they only had one person working and it was "here. here's your keys." We quickly that the car had not been cleaned between rentals, as there were crumbs in the car, dust on the dashboard, two bags of chips in the glove compartment, and the WORST part was that it was very obvious whoever rented it last had smoked something in the car. It STUNK. We did not have time to return to the airport to see about a different car, as we were already behind schedule with having to pick up at a different location, and need to get on the road to make it to our appointment in another state. We also didn't have an employee walk around the car with us, checking it out, so we were concerned we would be charged for the nick in the windshield or other scratches and dents that we noticed right away. What could have been done better? Having more than one person working at the rental counter, having the car cleaned (especially when it STUNK) and finding out we needed to go to a different location sooner. Finding out ten to fifteen minutes before pick up, when you've already left home, is not good enough.

Cons:

The van was dirty when I picked it up, both inside and outside. I found a used water bottle in the door compartment. I swept hair bands and metal screws and dirt off the floor of the cargo area. The side cargo door rattled the entire time. Because the door did not close properly, the van was cold even when the heater was running full blast. The clerk had told me the vans had been used hard by Amazon. I expected a better vehicle than I received.
