3.8 Mediocre
Pros: I was charged 200 when everyone else in my group paid 100. There was no heat and I woke up in the middle of the night shaking from the cold. The heater sounded like a truck and blew cold air. I warmed up with a hot shower. The sheets were itchy and I had bites on my ankle. There were no blankets just a thin Summer blanket on my bed. Did not get any rest:(
Cons: See above
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed and really liked how clean everything was. The cookies in the evening are a great bonus.
6.2 Good
Cons: The door to my room didn’t even fully shut. You could hear every step from the people above you. $25 bike rental fee, whereas other hotels on the island offer as a complimentary amenity
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location, clean
Cons: not very quiet, heard trash dumpsters being rolled around outside window at 7am. noisy airconditioner, squeaky door. thin walls.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great!!!
Cons: The noise above us one night. Travel all over the world never heard such noise right above us and no valet service parking was a problem.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The heat in our room didn’t work and they put us in another room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, and the personal touches were wonderful - cookies and milk in the evening, muffins and coffee in the morning, hydrangeas on the host desk. Very clean and spacious rooms.
Cons: no
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location was ideal in Edgartown. It was central to the Waterfront, shops, and restaurants. We were also very close to the Chappy Island ferry.
Cons: Everything was dirty. They cleaned our room everyday, but it was clear the bathroom/ bathtub was not cleaned ever. The grime/ soap scum accumulated every day. When we arrived to check in there was no one there for a while. It was like that from time to time. Additionally, someone should recommend vacuuming the lobby steps maybe once in a while. It was really dirty. Lastly, I was pregnant. The first day/ night it was very hot. It was not until we complained that we were told the Central AC was broken and maybe they could bring us a window unit. We got a unit and things got more comfortable (thankfully) Overall, I would have gone to the Mansion House, Harbor Hotel down the street, or rented a house for the same price but better quality.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location! Right in downtown Edgartown. Could not be any more perfect centralized location. Main Street and the waterfront are only a few steps away just the perfect spot. The hotel is historic charming clean and the staff is friendly. You can leave the car at home for this one it's in just the perfect place. And it is just about a block from the bands and the loud bars so you have peace and quiet and serenity yet close to everything. we do plan on going back. I just wish they would add the bicycles as complementary to the room since the rooms are fairly priced to begin with
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good! Comfy beds. GREAT staff!!!
Cons: The split heating unit was a bit noisy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was unbelievable. Staff was incredibly friendly.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel concierge Darlene was fabulous!! She worked hard to coordinate our tours to make sure we had the very best!! The service was outstanding! We are definitely coming back!
Cons: Would suggest the hotel serve their guests little treats: chocolate mints on your pillow at night, a small bowl of apples at the reception area and complimentary cookies at the morning coffee bar. The new renovation is beautiful - just missing these small touches of guest appreciation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything about our stay at the Harbor View was exceptional. The staff was AMAZING. They went out of their way to see that we were happy with not only our accommodations but with their service. A shout out to Kelly in particular for her kindness and generosity. Pros: The location and the bed and the helpful smiley spanish lady that set breakfast up. My receptionist on arrival was very calm and nice and patient with me.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent facility and location. Clean, comfortable and able to relax. Central location for restaurants and activity.
Cons: Staff were ok. Would be helpful if they could become more educated in Edgartown and MV as a whole. As an example - when asked how to use the buses, we were told, 'I don't live here'. When we asked how we could find out whether there was transportation to the Food and Wine Festival, we were told 'I have no idea'. When we asked what restaurants they would recommend for seafood, we were told, 'I don't really know; Would have been better to be able to interact with the guests and be more helpful

Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms VERY small
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and cozy and Fred, our host, was attentive and helpful and great personality! Very helpful with places to eat and assured that we were comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I was debating between this and some more upscale hotels and spend more time in a hotel than an inn. My first impression was. Pleasant. It is characteristic of the area’s old homes. The stairs are narrow. The furniture is appropriate for the period. The staff is pleasant but not not on site during set hours. My room was comfy. I had a sitting area along with my king size bed. All in all, just right for the price and the destination.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: My room was very spacious and comfortable. It was a cold night, but the temp in my room was comfortable. My room was at the back of the inn and very quiet. No street noise to disturb me. The room had a little balcony, and if it weren't November, I would have gone out and enjoyed sitting there for a bit. It was an easy walk to downtown Edgartown, and I walked back from dinner. I didn't have breakfast, but the coffee was good.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like. The key to my room stuck a little, which I told the owner before I left. A little WD-40 will probably take care of it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The people was very friendly.
Cons: The TV does not work. The mattress cover was stained with blood .

Cons: The room was a little musty which was tolerable since I did not spend much time there. The climate is very humid in Martha's Vineyard so I am sure many places have this problem.
7.5 Good
Pros: The property was in a great location, center of Oak Bluffs within a easy walk from the ferry. Staff was outstanding. Very well maintained property.

Pros: The hotel itself was adorable and a close walk to the beach and all of the shops and restaurants in oaks bluffs. About 10 minutes into town walking, also close to the "gingerbread houses"

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of pastries, bagels, waffles, cereal, fresh fruit, quiches, yogurt, and juices including mimosas. There's a lovely courtyard and porch for relaxing and enjoying. It was nice walking to all shopping and restaurants along with Oak Bluffs historic past. We were there for the 1st Nor'easter storm last week with all ferry's on Martha's Vineyard canceled. Lisa and her entire staff made it a memorable experience ensuring everyone was comfortable, hosting happy hours including local musicians, and worked with all to extend reservations during this storm. Cons: Everything was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were cute and cozy. Breakfast was yummy!! Fresh orange juice, mimosas, muffins all very fresh and good. The cookies as you walk-in the front door....called to all of us
Cons: There is NOTHING bad here...literally!!! The author who came in to talk about history on MV was very nice and interesting, but could have kept his opinion on politics to himself!!!! We were there to listen to history, not his love for Obama and impeachment for Trump.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is a 2 minute walk to the Ink Well Beach and Library and several Churches. About 5 minutes to the Grocery Store and Downtown Oaks Bluff where you have Shopping, Restaurants, Nightlife and Children Places like the Arcade and Doughnut and Ice Cream Shops. The rooms and facilities are well maintained and clean. The Front Desk Staff and Maintenance Staff are GREAT and the cookies and lemonade in the afternoon is a great gesture. The Porch Parties and Entertainment is GRADE A. It is perfectly located on Martha's Vineyard along the bus route and activities on the Island. The Pequot was an enjoyable and stress-free place to stay!
Cons: The parking spaces are very limited near the hotel.
7.9 Good
Pros: Quaint authentic stay with the most lovely warm staff . Loved the cookies and afternoon tea . The porch swing with the wind chimes was beautiful . Magical charm .

Overview Reviews
Located in Vineyard Haven, The 1720 House is near the beach, within a 5-minute walk of Vineyard Haven Public Library and Vineyard Playhouse. Free self parking is available onsite.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: the location
Cons: The breakfast wasn't a BnB breakfast- first day a couple hard boiled eggs and expired yogurt... and make your own toast, etc., second day, no eggs. Our bed was the worst- lump in the middle, uneven and uncomfortable.... slide right off it. Door to our room couldn't close- warped too much- (okay, shave the top of the door to solve the problem....). The Owner/host never made an attempt to visit or talk with us. Only interaction I had with her was that I didn't have me zip code entered on the web sign up and when we arrived- she had a note to sign the credit card bill.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: The beds are really hard. The house is very old so sound is transmitted easily and all of the doors creak badly. The hostess was not the most friendly. Didn't feel welcome half the time. Like I was bothering her to be there.
6.7 Good
Pros: The manager Karen was very nice and friendly. The house itself is heritage and beautiful, with antiques. Nice room and location.
Cons: I happened to meet the owner, a lady called Abby. She was kind of nasty and rude to me. I paid a very good price for my 2 nights, and she would make some unreasonable requests. The breakfast starts only at 8.30, so I could not eat earlier. When it was 9 o clockish, she was rushing me to leave and return the key (I was not ready yet, check out is 11 and the place was almost empty). Her rude behavior made me want to leave that place immediately. In other hotels, they allow you to stay in the common area until you are ready (I was waiting for a ride) at 1720 house, they want you out right away if you don't look like their desired guests. So the sensation of not feeling welcome made me suspect she is a bigoted lady that likes only old and white couples. (The day before, she was way nicer to the other guests)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The sense of being a part of history.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was convenient to town.
Cons: It's a very old house so we didn't expect too much but the bathroom shower was tiny and we had to share it with another room. We did not have breakfast but it had juice, fresh fruit and yogurt coffee and tea. I did ask for tea but the water was lukewarm and there was no milk available.

6.3 Good
Pros: The location and the bed and the helpful smiley spanish lady that set breakfast up. My receptionist on arrival was very calm and nice and patient with me.
Cons: The staff, the fact that Parking there are a very limited number of parking spaces. The breakfast area is cramped and everyone is piled on top of each other. Really unpleasant experience. The receptionist in the morning was rude and sullen.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location. Snacks at front desk

Pros: The rooms were lovely and very clean. The free daily breakfast was such a treat! Everyday lots of yummy choices!
Cons: I would like to be able to get a cup of coffee early in the morning-breakfast not ready until 7:30-8 which is pretty late for an early riser like me
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very modern and comfortable rooms with elevator so you’re not lugging your luggage up stairs. Different freshly made breakfast each day.

The room was exceptional and the ladies who took care of it take pride in their work and it shows.
Cons: Nothing everything about the stay was great. The only issue we had was with our key cards but that was quickly resolved by the multi-talented Roy.
