Top tips for renting a car at Great Falls airport

  • When considering a car rental at Great Falls Airport, you don't need to go far. There are a handful or more rental agencies located along Terminal Drive and Terminal Way right at the airport. The area is to the southwest of Great Falls, along Interstate 15. If you're in town for a while, consider renting a car since there is not much public transit. The 15min drive to and from town will be a breeze if you book through KAYAK and rent in advance.
  • Car rental at Great Falls Airport is a fast and easy way to get around Montana, the fourth largest state in the USA. Think about gas mileage when renting if you know you have to drive far. The roads are pretty nice in Montana so if you don't need to go off-road, think about getting a more fuel-efficient option when choosing your rental vehicle through KAYAK.
  • There is a lot to do in the Great Falls area when it comes to the wilderness, all year round. Be sure to have snow tires in the winter if you decide to go explore in the snow with your rental, and heated seats couldn't hurt. See if you can arrange special upgrades through your rental agency so you won't get left out in the cold. Hunting and fishing are two big pastimes in Great Falls. Consider an open bed pick-up if you're out for big game hunting. In addition to finding the right upgrades for your rental, you'll also need permits to hunt and fish in order to be fully prepared.
  • Montana has different speed limits than a lot of other places in the United States. The Interstate speed limit is 80 mph in Montana, and 65 mph around urban portions. If you get out of town in your rental and notice people are flying past, that's probably why. Adjust your cruise control accordingly so you can keep with the flow of traffic.
  • Book your rental car at Great Falls airport at least 2 weeks before your trip in order to get a below-average price

After a long day of travel, the customer service was top notch, and took all of 10 minutes. I had my car faster than I had my luggage :) The vehicle was clean, and for the first time ever when renting a car, it did not smell like cigarettes.

I was bummed they didn’t have a clean car ready when I reserved one in advance. I did get a free upgrade on a dirty vehicle which was great. Drop off in Belgrade was amazing, just had to pull up and leave the keys inside. I don’t love EV’s but the car upgrade was fun because the sound system was good and the car had lumbar support.

I scheduled a rental from Great Falls to Couer dAlene ID. After it went through they had me returning to Post Falls ID. I tried to call and get it changed and couldn't so I had to cancel and re book. When I went to pick the car up at the Great Falls Airport the counter person took twenty minutes and said that three of my cards declined. I went down the counter and in five minutes the Hertz man not only got my card to go through but got the right destination. NEVER USING ENTERPRIZE AGAIN

Staff member at Great Falls Budget counter was rude and disrespectful. First car broke down on freeway only 19 miles from airport. . Roadside assistance was good but exchange service back at airport was terrible. Again I was treated by same rude employee making me feel like problem was my fault. Employee made me initial paper taking vehicle as is. . Replacement car was dirty, smelled of cigarette smoke, and the tire pressure and change oil lights came on during the trip. I had tires checked and filled to correct PSI during trip. My elderly mother who has COPD had to breathe in the smoke smell our entire trip. While initial Kayak reservation experience was great, the Budget was not. As a result I will not use Budget again.
