Overview

The Monterey Inn is a historical hotel from the 1800s, one of Los Angeles’ last bordellos, established before the California oil rush. It has been designed with modern touches while keeping elements of its history intact, is considered a green hotel, and is allergy-friendly.

Continental breakfast is available for guests staying in any of the 24 rooms, after which you can stroll through the garden, make use of the barbecue grills, or lounge on the terrace. Located on the waterfront, the area is great for bicycling, skateboarding, sunning and skating. Situated just three blocks from the ocean, the hotel is near the peaceful docks and only 10 to 15 minutes from several beaches in either direction. Offering a great ocean breeze, the location is often about 10 degrees cooler than downtown LA and Hollywood, making it a perfect place for any summer weekend getaway.

Amenities include free WiFi, private baths, 120 premium TV channels, and kitchenettes that are equipped with refrigerators and stoves, microwaves, and sinks. Nearby, guests will find bicycle, scooter, or segway rentals for adventuring through the neighborhoods, or head to the water to rent paddle boats, kayaks, and other relaxing vessels for viewing the city from the water’s edge.

Nearby attractions include the Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, Shoreline Village, Warner Grand Theater, StubHub Center, World Cruise Center, and the Long Beach Cruise Terminal. For those interested in maritime history, The Monterey is also near to the USS Iowa and the RMS Queen Mary.
