Overview

A sandy walk from the shore, the Best Western Marina State Beach sits beside the dunes in Marina, California, on the northern curve of Monterey Bay. Beach days, aquarium visits, and whale-watching trips all begin here. Cozy rooms make an easy place to unwind after a day by the water, and the beachfront setting puts the dunes and surf just outside the door. The relaxed location keeps the bay's highlights within a short drive, from tide pools to coastal trails and fresh-seafood dining. Comfortable beds and a calm setting make an easy place to land after a relaxing beach day. Marina State Beach's wide sand and dunes anchor the days, while the Monterey Bay Aquarium and historic Cannery Row sit minutes south for shopping and seafood. Seasonal whale-watching boats head out from nearby harbors, and this Marina address makes a tranquil base for exploring Monterey Bay and the wider Monterey Peninsula.

Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praise the hotel's excellent location, with many mentioning its proximity to the beach and local attractions. Comfortable beds are another highlight, with several guests noting a good night's sleep. However, there are frequent complaints about the cleanliness of rooms and common areas, including dirty floors and towels. The breakfast receives mostly negative feedback due to limited options and quality. Bathrooms are repeatedly described as very small and inconvenient, and issues with water pressure and hot water are common. Overall, while the location and bed comfort stand out, improvements are needed in cleanliness, breakfast, and bathroom facilities.

This place needs some work, properly installed door seals would a fantastic start, cut down on road noise from the freeway, or the neighboring room with kids running around the property late at night....
