C$ 387+

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a library. Limited parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great historic feeling, very traditional, perfect position opposite the ocean and an easy walk to Cannery Row. A special place if you want the fell and ambience. All the little extras, wine and nibbles , breakfast made it somewhere to remember.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location was good - close enough to gently walk into town, far enough away not to be bothered by town. Our room was large and spacious.
Cons: As the main house is arranged like a house, the breakfast options were limited as compared to a full service hotel. So you're paying for the service levels rather than the amenities. For more nervous guests a room safe would be a good addition.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The eggs were just right, as was everything that was served for breakfast. The bed was very comfy and I had an exceedingly restful night’s sleep. My daughter loved having the Teddy bear there, too.
Cons: There was not a thing we didn’t like. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay here. The location and ocean view cannot be better anywhere. We walked to Cannery Row for shopping and dining, it is within easy walking distance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was lovely! View of ocean for happy hour and breakfast! Deer appeared in the garden in the morning!
Cons: Guests didn’t interact during happy hour.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. Wonderful views of the coast. Short walks to Lover's Point, downtown PG, Aquarium, shops and restaurants.
Cons: We didn't have any trouble finding parking on Friday and didn't move the car all weekend, but parking would have been tricky on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view and staff
Cons: A bit skimpy on the breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room had every comfort and the communal areas were beautiful. Loved the happy hour and breakfast was excellent. Staff so helpful and friendly.
Cons: There was nothing - everything exceeded expectations
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very well located! We had a very comfortable stay and would stay there again when the opportunity arrises.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Green Gables is at a good location. Cross the road to Pacific Grove walking trail along the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They did have a lovely breakfast and wine & cheeses in the evening.
Cons: The room we stayed in was at the back of main building, no feeling of the beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ambience and staff. The weather was rainy and windy and the lovely rooms and fireplace made it vert cozy. One could not help but relax and enjoy.
Cons: Nothing

8.3 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful warm cosy home , converted to a bed and breakfast! A wholesome breakfast served with loads of love . The hosts were very helpful in helping us plan our days in Monterrey!!
Cons: Would have loved to make a healthier choice for breakfast like just eggs to order. The rest was just perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing property. Literally an oasis in the city. The innkeeper, Rick, and his staff did a great job of making us feel at home. We shared the B&B with people from the US, UK, Hong Kong, and Argentina. Wonderful evening conversations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with great location. Within walking distance of cannery row and great restaurants. Plenty of amenities and a beautiful garden to relax.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Adorable place with wonderful hosts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic historic property providing great hospitality and really well located just a short walk from Cannery Row and the aquarium. Comfy rooms and delicious inventive breakfasts. The complementary afternoon cookies and early evening canapés and wine is a really nice touch. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. One of the best B&B's I've ever stayed in, would definitely stay here again next time I visit Monterey.
Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The linens were fabulous and the spa tub in our king suite got nice and hot. Complimentary booze and sodas!
Cons: The inn is located in a residential area with lots of barking dogs and skateboarding teenagers (not incessant, but frequent enough to be annoying.)
Seven Gables Inn - Pacific Grove - Building

9.4 Excellent (241 reviews)
C$ 492+
Overview Reviews
The Seven Gables Inn is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. If you are looking for a convenient place to stay, our guests have told us that this location is excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was so kind and attentive. Great selection of wines at the complementary happy hour. Just had a fabulous time at this gorgeous inn!!
9.5 Excellent
Cons: The music docking should have an adapter for actual Apple products.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the ambiance of the entire property. We felt transported back in time to the beginnings of the Pacific Grove area and all the history. Was conveniently located to all areas we wanted to explore especially by walking. Any staff we encountered were so warm and accommodating, we felt so welcomed. The breakfast was fantastic, the food really good with so much variety plus again the ambiance of a graceful meal and getting to know other guests. Could have stayed at breakfast for hours....enjoyable.
Cons: Honestly there was nothing that we did not like.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was outstanding...the staff was excellent...the food was very good.
Cons: The room was too small and worn and the bathroom was ridiculous...and dirty.Don't get the Seascape Room...and don't ever pay in advance, particularly when its over $---- and a four day minimum.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Seals and chipmunks along the seashore a couple feet away from the inn.
Cons: Expresso in the breakfast would be great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quaint building in a beautiful place.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very quaint property across the street from the ocean. Very clean and comfortable. Incredible view from our room. Romantic and comfortable. Outstanding staff.
Cons: Ocean street is busy and noisy so we heard traffic, not the ocean when windows opened. Bathroom was unfortunately one of the smallest I’ve experienced in a hotel/inn with poor lighting. Not a deal breaker, but for the price, I expected more.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location with beautiful views!
Cons: Our friends and I wanted to share a bottle of wine and look out at the views but the common areas were completely closed with no access. We have never stayed at a bed and breakfast without access some some type of room other than our bedroom. The 6 of us could not fit in one of our rooms and outside was too cold. Besides that, the place is beautiful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The view, the staff, and the breakfast were wonderful!
Cons: The bathrooms are a little dated and tired looking. The yellow color of all the buildings is a it much as well.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent opposite Lovers Point in Pacific Grove and the bungalow was the perfect size for two teenage boys and myself and wife.
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Ocean views from our room were amazing and our bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Attitude of the manager when being presented with a problem with our bedding. He seemed bothered by our dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of our sheets. This situation was not handled in a very positive manor which left us with a bad feeling about his attitude towards customer service. Also, we requested an early check if possible as we had just arrived from Texas. Our request was denied on multiple occasions and then we later found out that our room was unoccupied but already prepared for the day or so before our arrival. So, our room was ready and available early but we were not allowed to check in early at all. )-: The staff was amazing, the food incredible, and the ocean views breathtaking. Our only issues were with the manager and his attitude towards us as a paying customer.
Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa - Monterey - Building

4.3 Okay
Cons: Manager was extremely rude
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is the best part.
Cons: I asked for an early check in and did not get it, I asked for top floor and did not get it either. the check in girl took our number and said she would call us when our room was ready. she just went home and left us hanging. we did finely get a room on the third floor. it didn't start well, but ended ok.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. The views were amazing! And the whole experience was great!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice
Cons: No self parking really
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: One of the highlights is the food in the restaurant, which is AMAZING. We had a fantastic dinner one night and two excellent breakfasts. I really like the fact that their breakfast is all a la carte, rather than a tacky, overpriced buffet, like many hotels do. Also, their crab cakes are to die for. One small thing, which I really appreciated, was the fact that the the gym has yoga mats, which is not very common outside of CA. Yoga is a form of fitness too!
Cons: The only small thing is the sort of confusing layout if you stay, as we did, in the building across the street from reception. If you take the elevated walkway back across to the main hotel, it's almost impossible to find the elevator. I know that we, and at least one other couple I met, preferred just walking across the street, so we could see our surroundings. Fortunately, the weather is generally nice in CA, so it's not a big deal to avoid the walkway.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: View and location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable and there was a ceiling fan! For all you fan lovers you know this is rare! Excellent customer service and location! I would stay there again
Cons: Nothing
4.5 Okay
Pros: Nothing. There was no breakfast. We couldn't even get coffee unless we went to the restaurant.
Cons: We had to walk down a flight of stairs and go around the corner to get to our elevator. We were put in the next to the last room even though I made reservations months in advance. The sea lions kept us awake all night, I booked two rooms and when we checked in, they would not let us pay separately. The hair dryer was useless. We wanted to use the rooftop hot tubs but were not allowed to because we did not use the spa (we did not have time to use the spa, we were just passing through). I thought we were going to have a balcony, but did not. When we checked out, they did not even asked how our stay was. The bell staff and the staff in Schooners were very good, but the staff on the front desk was not.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location - right in the bay!
Cons: We were lead to believe from the photos that there was a fantastic hot tub and chill out area overlooking the bay. Don’t be fooled - this is the spa and is not included with the room fee. There is free access to a sad little internal courtyard with a few sun loungers and a hot tub but it was pretty depressing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff is we very nice.
Cons: NA
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The locations was brilliant by the bay!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful facilities and setting. Very convenient for all our activities.
6.0 Good
Pros: Great location. Spacious bathroom with tub and shower. Great coffee maker in the room.
Cons: The room was too hot. The AC was programmed to shutoff at night. I set the thermostat to 65, but temps never dipped below 72. I could only even windows about 3 inches. Did not sleep well. Parking was far away and expensive.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect.
Cons: The breakfast was not an open buffet..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location on Cannery Row
Cons: The increase in price from one day to the next
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The outdoor waitresses could use a bit more training in that they forgot napkins and to clean off the table we were sitting at. The young woman the first night appeared to really want to go home; however, we tipped very well,I hope she thought it was worth it. I would normally not have dinner at the hotel I am staying at because my husband and I prefer to explore, but our meals were very tasty (I had a perfectly done medium rare filet mignon). Regardless, given that this hotel is in the middle of tourist central in Monterey, the staff were always welcoming, cheerful, efficient and professional. I would definitely recommend and return to this hotel. The hotel’s breakfast staff were also very good, welcoming and I would say that the food at this hotel is very good. Keep up the good work!
7.0 Good
Pros: Convenient location.
Cons: Rooms are comfortable but average. Price is to high!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great rooms. I got a room with a limited street view so it wasn't ideal. The breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly all across our stay. The location is ideal as it is on the pier and on Montereys main street. Good restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: We were charged for consumption that we did not make, and also when we made the reservation through booking.com it said that the breakfast was included (for 4 of us). When we checked in we only got a voucher for USD50. We had to speak to the managet and they came through with a correction. We also have the issue fo having to dispute a charge that we did not do.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The beds were incredibly comfortable. Even though our room faced Cannery Row it was still quiet. We were given an ADA room with double beds so it was very spacious.
Cons: The only in room fridge was filled with items for purchase-it would have been great to have some room to store water, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Sea side and in the middle of Monterey.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staying here is always nice. The staff is pleasant.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very comfortable! Great location.
Cons: Our room was facing a wall.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Staff, The Hotel, The Room, The Location, The Cleanness, The Food, The Decor. LOVED the shampoo! Made my hair super soft and smelled amazing!!
Cons: Our beds were to small. Would of preferred Queens, instead of Full. I didn't like how the final price was $150 more than what's shown on booking page. Way to pricey in my opinion.

6.3 Good
Pros: Great location, quiet.
Cons: Bed was hard, there was a dirty soap bar in our shower and the toilet wouldn’t flush even after asking for it to be fixed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cozy and clean room, free parking
Cons: At 9 pm we had a call from reception that our kid is making to much nose and guests from first floor is unsatisfied. All he did was walking around the room, definitely not screaming or crying. So I think there are some problems with sound isolation. And because of that this hotel seemed not so friendly for families with kids.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just do not take unit 18. The tenants above cause it impossible to get to sleep before midnnight. Their walking around and taking showers at midnight kept us awake--both nights. Unfortunate location under them as a guest.

7.0 Good
Pros: Great breakfast & excellent location
Cons: Price higher than I preferred but location and comfort & inn benefits made up for the higher price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I sadly never got to have breakfast. I was so exhausted from driving, when I arrived I just slept in. The room was clean, very comfortable and lovely view. I did let front desk know the toilet paper holder had to go. It just kept falling on the floor and sending the TP rolling. Other than that, I really liked it there. The stairs up to my room were steep, so not for everyone, but overall a very lovely place and stay. Great views and location.

Pros: The breakfast was incredible! The views from the breakfast room and the second floor lookout were breathtaking. The room was cute and decorated in antique furniture. We played a round of pool on the 1800s pool table and took a look at the MG's that Mr. Martine restores.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was off the hook. Location was excellent
Cons: I cant think off a thing
9.4 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I stayed at the Martine Inn during Monterey Car Week and, in spite of the elevated activity level throughout the Monterey area, Don, his Grandson and the staff took great care of us. The Inn was our welcome ocean front retreat when we needed a break. Breakfasts were very good and the afternoon "tea" was extensive and tasty. All in all, a delightful stay.
Cons: Being car week, the room rates were not a bargain but also not totally unreasonable as all area accommodations go up pretty sharply during that time. Also, the rooms are not air conditioned, which is not prominently mentioned. Though the days were pretty warm (August) the ocean front location assured that things cooled down reasonably during the evenings. Sleeping was not at all uncomfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to ocean, beaches and downtown. Very quiet. Quaint rooms. Wonderful breakfast and nice wine reception every evening. The staff was very kind and attentive. They seemto love working there and explaining the history of the property.
Cons: The wine reception was nice but came at an hour that conflicted at times with dinner plans (5:30-7). Not a huge problem.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Inn was charming and ‘yesteryear’ and had classic period furniture; the breakfasts were good and the sitting rooms were also charming. The staff were friendly and helpful. The ocean location of the Inn was perfect! I think the hotel exterior and garden could be painted and spruced up somewhat; the rooms while clean and comfortable, had a musty smell. Overall, we had a pleasant and satisfying stay! Thank you Martine Inn.
Cons: See above!

Cons: understandably old building with creaky floors. this was not bothersome but for those that value very quiet places, may not be ideal for you.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is great! Short walk to Lovers Point where we saw a sea otter. The place is charming and takes you back in time. The afternoon happy hour was enjoyed. The gardens are pretty. We had our bikes annd they graciously stored them for us for safe keeping. It was Lantern Feast and we loved the lanterns.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location to the ocean and to the town of Pacific Grove was optimal.
Cons: Parking was an issue. Returned from an event late at night and had to park some distance from some the Inn.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious, filling breakfast; wonderful staff, super clean and delightful rooms, ample street and on site parking - stress free stay! Great!
Cons: I wish there was more soundproofing in the walls - mainly between bathrooms, because when someone is having bathroom activities at the same time as you - you can hear every single squeak and toot. Which was entertaining and all, but unnecessary.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice traditional hotel, good size room, good location for the seaside.
Cons: Close to a busy road, so a bit noisy.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good, simple but freshly made to order. Staff was friendly.
Cons: We stayed in a cottage, which felt like more of a cabin. Structure and furnishings were worn, missing the good effect of looking 'Victorian', just looked run down. Didn't add to feeling of 'comfort' with my family.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place and very nice location!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at this location. The staff were so helpful, the breakfast personalised with plenty of choice. Probably some of the best coffee we have had in the states. It was a calm and warm place to stay. There was also plenty of parking if not on site, then in the surrounding streets. It was a quiet location also. The glass of wine at happy hour was a nice surprise.
Cons: Nothing, it was all excellent and everyone there had the same opinion. They would book you a restaurant or guide you to a venue. Every staff member had an excellent attitude. They are a credit as a team.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Parking was tricky.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location great. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: No.

Pros: Location and main reception was impressive. Facilities good and design of room was nice. Quiet room. Ceanliness was good. Checkin and out was efficient and friendly.
Cons: The bathrooms needed an update (peeling paint) and on arrival in the late afternoon there were still dirty dishes and food from the night before lying in the corridors. Parking was $20 for 24hour stay. The beds were on the small side compared with other much more affordable accommodations in the area of CA. I feel the price was very high for the quality of hotel offering.

Cons: Beds were uncomfortable and on the small side for a queen/double. Carpets in corridors looked as though from 1980s. At check out the representative didnt even ask if I had a pleasant stay, just wanted me to settle the bill and to see my charges was only available if i requested a print out, she wasnt very happy.

Famous attractions Monterey Bay and Monterey Bay Aquarium are just a short taxi ride away. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate.
5.5 Okay
Pros: It was so cold in the dining room and the common area or living room. The cheese and wine was barely a wine and cheese. Breakfast, no meat or bacon or anything like that...when we asked about it, they said, we're Vegan? Did not read that in the previous reviews. Beds were nice, but the rooms were cold, beds were good, but outlet for my light was out. Parking was snug. Staff was good, they were all friendly but some could not speak English.
Cons: It was terrible cold in the common areas. Internet in our room was non existent. No signal, could never connect. TV was the size of a 11 inch tv? Seems they were getting by with the minimum of effort and expense to keep the inn running. Next time we'll stay at a real hotel...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was wonderful house and surroundings outstanding staff could not have been any better
5.8 Okay
Pros: Wendy on staff at the INN saved the day. She is excellent. The room was uncomfortable due to unseasonably hot weather. There wasn't a fan as promised but Wendy went out long after hours to purchase one. It was an excellent fan and Wendy saved the day!
Cons: Old cluttered room. Bathroom was old and the tubs was an ancient whirlpool. There was no view from the room and it was significantly overpriced. Poor value.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cozy quaint little BnB, a little ways off the main drag but still close enough to everything. Delicious hors d’oeuvre hour in the early evening. Friendly accommodating staff
Cons: The WiFi is very spotty
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Quiet. They did pack a nice picnic breakfast on the morning we were leaving.
Cons: Not enough space to hang clothes up no place to hang up dresses or put suit case. Room very small. No place to hang wet towels. Always had to hunt to find staff. We stayed for 4 nights they advertised a wine and cheese each night however, there was no white wine for two nights.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Some quirky features in the Library Room.
Cons: This property was over priced and seemed to be riding on previous legacy write ups (1000 places) ; it looked and felt tired and appeared to be conducting a tick box exercise to meet its started rating rather than investing in the property to Reflect the very high cost for staying here.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The fireplace in our room
Cons: Breakfast was too late
10.0 Excellent
