Pros: Angela, the owner of the property was so welcoming and attendant. The room was great together with breathtaking view. The area around the accommodation was fabulous. Every corner around it have its own charm and magic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautyful lovely house, big and very nice room, wonderful garden with a lot of nice places to sit and eat and look at a wonderful view. Very nice landlord and nice breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a gorgeous, renovated farmhouse in a quiet area outside Orvieto. I had an enormous room with a balcony looking out to the hilltop town. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Although it was a bit hard to find, due to the car's GPS limitations, Angela the host quickly rescued me and made everything just right for my stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I had travelled from the UK with my dog and my destination was Calabria. I was intending to stay for two nights and ended up staying for four. The location is outstanding with such stunningly beautiful views of the Umbrian landscape. Orvieto perched on a hilltop can be clearly seen in the distance and you are surrounded by vineyards. The room was very comfortable with a huge double bed. Everything was perfectly adequate. While I was there a couple had flown in from Montreal to stay for a weekend. That says enough!! The host Angela is very helpful and speaks good English. She even assisted me in booking a vets visit for my dog and also a garage appointment as I had a fault with my car. Angela also recommended a lovely restaurant called Del Conte and booked it for me. I enjoyed it so much I returned 3 or 4 times. Breakfasts are good much of which is homemade. I whole heartedly recommend this jewel of a place. Thank you very much agriturismo Cioccoletta!
Cons: There is truly nothing not to like.

Pros: My husband and I stayed at Agriturismo Cioccoleta for one night , our stay was amazing. If you're looking for a relaxing escape from the city this porperty is the perfect match. The view from our room was magnificent, the garden is well equipped, you can sit there after a long day or to enjoy the sunset. Angela is so helpful, friendly she answered all our questions helped us find a train to our next journey , spoke to the taxi driver to drop us and pick us from the centre since we couldn't rent a car (i recommend to have a car to get to the property and to go around Orvieto) , she recommended a very nice restaurant in the center with an amazing view and gave us a map with the top attractions She made our stay very easy and we're very lucky to had her as a host. Surely we will come back

Pros: A very beautiful and comfortable place to stay with an amazing view but still very central to the attractions of Orvieto. Sabrina is a very friendly and helpful host.

Pros: The window view was spectacular, over wall and across the valley to the vineyards on hills. It was a favorite place to relax with a glass of wine. Also the location is very convenient to restaurants and sites. We couldn't find a taxi on arrival so Sabrina picked us up at the train station. We also liked the separate living room with table and the great little kitchen which we did not use as there are many options for coffee, dinning and snacks.
Cons: We had to leave.

Pros: We spent the final five nights of a two week holiday staying at Ripa Medici in Orvieto. The suite became a second home for us and we strongly recommend you consider staying there if you’re planning a trip to Orvieto. This place deserves its great local reputation. The suite itself is located in the older end of town in a well-maintained block at the end of a very quiet street, overlooking the countryside around the city. We really appreciated how quiet the place was. And we also loved awaking each morning to breathtaking views over the hills around Orvieto. It took less than five minutes to stroll to the main high street and many of the sights the city has to offer. We stayed in late November 2018 and really appreciated coming back to our centrally-heated suite with its well-equipped kitchen each evening. Sabrina was helpful and friendly and looked after us well. We were especially impressed with how well-organised and professional everything was. Her well-judged recommendations were appreciated, especially at a time of year when some of the venues were closed. We will certainly stay at Ripa Medici without hesitation in future, whenever we return to this fantastic city.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location beside the city walls. Perfect for watching a sunset.
Cons: Nothing not to like.

Pros: Staying here was one of the highlights of our 2 week trip to Italy. The location is quiet and peaceful with beautiful views. Breakfast each day was amazing and we were cheerfully greeted each morning by Federica. Martin was a gracious host and gave us good tips for touring the area and good recommendations for dining. Loved our stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were fantastic, the breakfast was amazing and the location to Orvieto and surrounding Umbria was beautiful, perfect for exploring. I couldn't rate this place higher!
Cons: The only thing that could have been better was the weather, as I didn't get to use the pool sadly. Amazing otherwise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Federica was so kind to upgrade our room to the little house. We were with our 10-year-old and it was perfect to have a garden right outside the door, plus the lovely pool just steps away. Martin greeted us warmly and introduced us to the dogs - both are sweet-tempered and very good with kids. Our house was beautifully decorated with so many artistic touches. It was so peaceful to stay here. Breakfasts belonged in a magazine photo shoot - home-baked cakes, breads, jams, eggs, yogurt, all served on fanciful plates in the garden (looking out to that priceless Orvieto view). Thank you for a terrific stay. And thank you for your special kindness to our daughter.
Cons: We loved it all.

Pros: Everything is perfect!! I was moved to have warm service by owner. The room is so lovely and clean, also have a beautiful view of Orvieto. We enjoyed from the bottom of our heart, and never forget visiting here.
Cons: Nothing at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful! Everything was wonderful - Our apt. was much bigger than we expected, 2 large bedrooms (each with an incredible view) and a huge bathroom (with a ceiling that should be in a museum). The living area was great and had two doors that opened to a spectacular view of Orvieto. ' Breakfast was wonderful, served in the prettiest little dining area. The attention to detail is awesome and our hosts were so kind and welcoming. Martin met us on our arrival. He gave us a few excellent restaurant suggestions and introduced us to Nero and Firenze, two very sweet dogs. And we enjoyed our conversations each morning at breakfast with Fredrica. She was so kind as to give us a bottle of the best olive oil and a jar of fruit preserves on our last day. It was very hard to leave this beautiful place. I hope to return someday.
Cons: Nothing - except that we didnt stay longer.

Pros: Nice stuff, nice room, delicious breakfast (everything is homemade!). We had a baby with us and it was perfect!

Pros: Perfect location! Close to the cathedral and everything is in walking distance. Host was super nice, and I loved my stay.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was very central but quiet which was good
Cons: The fact that when booking we applied a filter for parking and this is not available. There is no vehicle access and public parking is available at around 12 euro a day or out of town and by bus up to the centre. In the end this is not a problem but unhappy we had selected parking to then be told it was a problem with booking. com

Cons: Confused by address and needed help from owner to locate

Pros: A quiet, small garden-like oasis that happens to be a short climb below a wonderful Italian hill town. A good shower, good coffee and breakfast, and convivial hosts earned it high marks. We hope to stay here again.
Cons: GPS will not get you here if you use the street address listed in Booking.com even though the location is not difficult if you follow the Casa’ own small signs when you arrive at Orvieto.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bnb is in a fabulous location to access the medieval town of Orvieto.. a 5 min walk through the Olive trees.. everything was appealing from the attentive help of the staff , the comfort of the rooms and the breakfast spread in the mornings .. would easily stay here again if I’m the area ..
7.9 Good
Pros: It has a fantastic view of backyard.
Cons: The location is very difficult to find.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and personally prepared. Everything was high quality and the service was friendly, helpful, and multilingual. we felt we were on our own, but if we needed anything, the owners were readily available. The family feeling was great. We also like the parking on the premises and walking accessibility to the historic part of the city.
Cons: The bed was very firm, but other than that, nothing. As a side note, this location would not suit anyone who requires wheelchair accessibility, or has difficulty walking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located under the walls of the old city this B&B is surrounded by nature, very peaceful and quiet. The hosts, Roberto and Ludovika, were very nice and helpful. The access to old city Orvieto is very easy - short walk through the garden uphill and than - elevator or escalator to the center.
Cons: Everything was perfect. Our car's GPS failed to find the property. Use Google maps.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The nicest owners on the planet. In an olive grove. With a very short walk to town.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The villa was nicely ands aped with olive trees and views of the valley. It was a short walk to the city center the lift is faster then the escalator. The bed was comfortable. The couple taking care of the casa were exceptionally warm and helpful.
Cons: You were in close quarters with others and had to be quieter.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The buildings with the tile roofs and stone facade exemplified the look and feel of Umbria. Fragrant rose blossoms filled the air and the green lawn stretched on for “miles”. On the property a well- defined path up the hill through the olive grove led to the main road and a short walk to the elevators let out close to the plaza. The caretakers Roberto and Ludi were most helpful with giving suggestions of where to eat and must-see places to visit.
Cons: The bed was hard, but typical of European mattresses.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room, area, view and hosts are all impeccable. Wish we had planned to stay here longer and hope to return soon. Coffee perfecto!
Cons: Was unable to connect to Wi-Fi however this might have been my fault.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Locanda Rosati is a beautiful country retreat, 10 minutes drive from Orvieto. I recommend the family style dinner at least one night. It's a wonderful way to meet the other guests and Giampiero, the charming host. We only stayed three nights and wish we could have spent longer. The pool is the center of life where everyone whiles away the afternoon. There is a family feeling here. Orvieto is delightful and the Duomo stunning. It's a quick drive to Bomarzo Monster Gardens or to Lake Bolsena for a dip or a fish lunch. Francesca, the manager, was immensely helpful to us. We got a fine for accidentally entering the freeway in the Telepass lane and she explained that we could appeal the fine at the Ponte Blu in nearby Orte. It worked and the fine was canceled. Thank you Francesca. I highly recommend staying here.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfection. The property is gorgeous and tranquil with a lovely pool and beautiful gardens. The owner, Giampiero, is charming, lovely to talk to, and was so kind to our children who both fell in love with him. His staff was also kind and thoughtful. Our room was comfortable and spotless. Breakfast is wonderful and dinner is sublime. The food is incredible, and they accommodated me as a vegetarian. It was lovely to sit with Giampiero and the other guests at the table in the evening as our children played. Locanda Rosati is an experience that we will cherish and we hope to be back. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Cons: We loved everything.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was traveling with my three children (ages 17, 21, and 23)... we took a cooking class with Chef Nicola. It was very eye-opening and lots of fun. They even gave us a recipe book and certificates of accomplishment after! We also paid for the sit down dinner which was amazing... everyone sat together at a long table outside ... and the host Giampiero also ate with us! I felt like I was in a movie. Beautiful location, loved listening to the beautiful Italian language spoken at the table, and the food was incredible. I fell in love with Locanda Rosati... and with Giampiero too! But the movie had to end ... so sad.

Pros: Excellent location and laidback atmosphere. Staff were very friendly as well. Really lovely place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had been to this property approximately 10 years ago and always remembered it as an idyllic stay. Second time around, it did not disappoint. The locanda has a relaxed atmosphere, without tripping over staff everywhere as in many 5* hotels which we find obtrusive - although they are there in the background should you need anything. The setting is just picture postcard and the décor is very stylish. Eating on the terrace overlooking Orvieto and watching the sunset over the vineyards and the Umbrian hills on the horizon is as close you can get to perfection.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: A wonderful place in a beautiful small town, with the most wonderful view ever! The room was very spacious, clean and cosy! Everyone was very friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. They gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant in Orvieto on our first night and helped us with all taxi rides. Loved the in-house dinner with wine tasting on our second night. Ended up buying a case of their wine and had them ship it home for us.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Spectacular location! The local food & wine delicious. Owner was obviously a hard working farmer for many years that takes pride. The grounds were absolutely immaculate & beautiful. Nice having a swim on arrival.
Cons: No refrigerator in room
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is in the middle of nowhere but it's amazing all around, It's green, you can breathe fresh and clean air and it's so silent and peaceful. The breakfast was very much appreciated and the host was amazingly welcoming. We had a room with a bathroom out of the room which isn't the best but really liked it. It was a bit expensive though.
Cons: We didn't like the "street" that leads to the B&B. It's full of bumps and it's not maintained at all. We didn't like the fact that we called 30 mins before arriving, they told us that they were waiting for us and there was no problem and we then got there and nobody was waiting for us, making exception for the cleaning lady who welcomed us and was really nice. The price was a bit too high but it was also during the winter jazz festival and therefore understandable.

Pros: Friendly staff. The location and landscape. Will recommend to friends.

The dinner was excellent as well and you absolutely have to try their local Wine, it is delicious. They produce nearly everything themselves and you can taste the freshness! Next time we pass in Orvieto we will stay there again.

Pros: I went to Villa Acquafredda to have a much needed break from city travel, and I was extremely happy with my lovely room with a view of the vineyard, the trees, and the Old City of Orvieto up on the plateau. I spent 5 blissful days reading, journaling and resting. The owners are extremely kind, the breakfast delicious, the environs beautiful and quiet. Pros: Location was really good, the rooms were large and comfortable. The entire resort was spotlessly clean. The restaurant was very good quality with very friendly staff. Overall, it was also good value for money.
Cons: Common areas could use updating. The area surrounding the pool was wooden decking which was painted black (which obviously absorbed the heat) and wasnt in great condition with many screws sticking out and quite a few splintered areas. Similarly, the playground was in need of some repairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just want to thank all the staff members for being so friendly and for making our stay fantastic. You can not find a better stop between Rome and Florence. The views are definitely worth coming for and the food and local amazing wines made our stay there one of the best experiences ever. Don’t miss an opportunity on visiting this beautiful place, you won’t regret it for sure . I would definitely recommend coming for a couple of days just to relax and escape the city.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful small hotel overlooking the Duomo with helpful cheery staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location with perfect view of the cathedral and super easy parking!
Cons: Just a personal preference - Breakfast was on the bottom floor in an awkward room. I would have liked to be on the main floor for a more open airy feel or even outside on the terrace!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is located to the side of the Duomo. Great location, but If you are walking, it is quite a ways to get there from the funiculare. The staff provided me with a map and showed me where the most popular places to visit in Orvieto were located which was extremely helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Virgilio is enchanting and sits literally opposite the duomo. The staff, hotel decor, breakfast and location is perfect to enjoy the beautiful city Orvieto. Surrounded by excellent restaurants, and an extremely pleasant piazza to while away hours, reading and sipping local wine. I would always stay in Hotel Virigilio when visiting Orvieto.
Cons: Nothing would prevent me returning to Hotel Vigilio.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, pleasant staff
Cons: It would have been good to have fresh rather than tinned fruit for breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Cons: We feel that the hotel employee hacked our identity
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location cannot be beat! Staff very, very friendly and helpful. Front patio for drinks very enjoyable!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved our overnight stay in Orvieto, we were easily able to see the entire town in 24 hours. The hotel was ideally located right next to the Duomo and a super gelateria. David was very friendly and helpful upon arrival marking out a map of the town and giving us insightful brochures. The hotel room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfy and the breakfast was very generous.
Cons: No real issues, we loved our stay. Maybe some wine glasses in the room would've been a nice touch and the fact that the power goes off when leaving the room is annoying as the fridge becomes warm.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Remarkable view of the cathedral, clean, pleasant professional staff. Location could not be better.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly old gentleman brought back the good old days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed super comfortable. Air conditioning in the bedroom was a god-send, we had a heatwave of almost 40degrees celcius, so it was so much appreciated. Breakfast was good. Quiet location no traffic noise or crowds and right in the centre of Orvieto, 3 mins walk from the Duomo. Orvieto was the most picturesque prettiest place I've been, and was delighted with our stay in hotel Filippeschi.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love this beautiful, family-run hotel and it's exactly what I'd expect in Italy. The staff are warm and friendly, everything is spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was great. It's easy to find (take the #3 bus when you get off the funicular and hop off at Piazza della Repubblica) and it's right in the heart of town. I was lucky they had a spare room when I became ill and had to stay a few extra nights, and I was really touched when they checked in with me in the evening to make sure I was feeling OK. Can't recommend this place highly enough. :-)
Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: I thought the price was a little high.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was perfect and the room was good for one person.
Cons: From the moment you walk in, the hotel reeks of strong perfume/air freshener spray and the room had way too much floral spray too. Don't overdo it! Some staff members were really nice and others were cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was large, well appointed, and well kept, including the rooms and the breakfast room (surprising since space is at a premium inside the walls of the Tuscan Medieval fortress towns). The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even acknowledged our 30th anniversary with a bottle of local wine in the room.
Cons: Nothing to not like about the hotel. Only a minor issue concerning all hotels located within the walls of the beautiful Medieval walled fortress towns of the area: parking is a bit of a walk to public lots outside the city walls. So be prepared to drop off luggage at reception and then move on to parking that can be a bit of a hike (uphill) getting back to the hotel. Fortunately Orvieto has seen fit to install an elevator/escalator system to take visitors back up into the city center.

Pros: The location is wonderful. There are very picturesque stairs outside the hotel leading directly to the plaza. Most people stop to pose right there because the duomo is the backdrop. Very convenient for finding all levels dining!
Cons: We had a hard time finding the hotel. We drove...and the GPS directed us onto narrow streets we could not navigate. BUT, when we didn't listen to the GPS, we found a very direct route off the main thorofare. The hotel staff parked the car as parking in Orvieto is tight.

Pros: Very comfortable hotel close to the centre of Orvieto. Secure parking and a lovely breakfast. Very good value for money.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable nice people good value
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Cons: Our car was driven to the hotel's parking area by one from the staff. When we picked it up, there was a huge scratch in the front of the ( brand new) car. The person in charge denied that it had happen when they parked the car, but I know for a fact that the scratch must have happened while they were handling the car. VERY disappointed by their dishonesty. It will cost me at least 500 Euro.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent Very clean Price excellent value
Cons: Staff were grumpy No tea or coffee facilities in room
7.5 Good
Pros: I liked the location. Very close to the Duomo. Everything was within walking distance. The slippers were a nice touch and I was glad of the air con in such heat.
Cons: It was a nightmare to drive to the hotel. I had to go up a one-way street to access the Hotel. So forget the navigator (it won't know the one-way system!). After two attempts at trying to reach the hotel I gave up and asked a shop (outside the city walls) for help. They phoned the hotel in the end as I didn't have a connection on my mobile. Also I didn't take breakfast at the Hotel. I thought 9€ was a bit steep. So I went across the road and sat at a cafe in front of the Duomo for a cappuccino and croissant and freshly squeezed orange juice which came to less than 9€.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Had their own parking and always brought car immediately responsive to every need and super friendly and nice. Loved spacious room too. We'll laid out and great bathroom.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, comfortable, located very close to all important sites to visit. Good point the valet parking (to be booked ahead).
Cons: The only very little point was relative to the shower box, with no room available to bring inside anything, as the only very narrow place was not attached properly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in town, but opposite end if arriving or departing via train. Still only a short finnicular ride right from train station and 1.2km walk.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit boring, scrambled eggs, no bacon and lots of croissants. Shower was way too small.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, and the staff were extremely helpful, giving us telephone directions to find the hotel, helping us obtain parking while avoiding tickets, and accommodating our five-year-old daughter with no notice, since kayak doesn't allow you to easily clarify that ones party is comprised of two adults with a child. The room was clean and quiet, and the breakfast was very nice. Would definitely stay again.
Cons: The only quibble is the air conditioner was a little noisy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff couldn’t do enough for us :)
Cons: Bed was a little uncomfortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean rooms and friendly staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal and the breakfast was good. The building was also quite nice. Jude, one of the staff members (maybe the manager?) was fantastic and probably the only person who spoke English. His service made the entire experience great.
Cons: While the property listed A/C as available, the family room we were given didn’t have it so they had to find another solution...which they did but our family was then squeezed into a much smaller room. Also the water pressure in the very fancy shower was horrible.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had an excellent location and the room was very spacious and clean. The staff greeted us and were very helpful during our stay.
Cons: The breakfast was not very good. The eggs were cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel in a beautiful small city. Much appreciated after the mass tourism of Florence and Venice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding service- Thank you. always helpful, informative and pleasant. This hotel is lovely-our family enjoyed their stay. The location is great, convenient and quiet. The recommendation to have dinner at the grotto was appreciated
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly clean and historic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful. To sleep in medieval atmosphere. The room smelled wonderful , the towels were great, it was clean and close to the sights . I would definitely recommend it!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I loved the room! We had a 3 person room with a king size bed and a twin. The kids loved that they had their own area. (And so did we)! Everything was clean and there was tons of storage. The location was great! We could get to everything in 15 mins or less by walking. The hotel has checkin parking and then they move your car to a parking area. You won’t need the car bc everything is so close, so it worked out great!
Cons: My only complaint was the AC. The room did have AC as the hotels site noted, and it did blow cold air, but the room wasn’t cool. So while it was functional it wasn’t actually cooling anything.
