Paihia hotels near Paihia Wharf

Pros: Location of Breakwater is perfect, only a few minutes walk to the wharf, town centre and Paihia Beach. Treaty grounds are about 1km away. Seaview rooms have magnificent views of the bay. Fully equipped kitchen made life easy with meal preparation. Decent fridge. Good aircon.

Cons: Our room got the water views but consequently faces the main road so quite a lot of traffic noise. Having the electric blankets on the bed in the middle of summer, odd. Meant controller sticks into your body at night....I know why don’t you strip the bed and remove them

Cons: I couldn't get reception in the TV in the bedroom. However, I didn't contact hosts as it was really late (so could have been because previous people staying there plated with it).

Cons: Hot water wasn't enough for two people to take a shower everynight. Drips from the water tap didn't get fixed although we reported on the first day.

Cons: Due to the wood ,aterial used on walls and the sealing I think it makes strong craking noises wich sometimes woke me up at night

Pros: Very short flat walk from the waters edge of the bay and the centre of town. Staff friendly and helpful with local knowledge of places of interest. Hot spa was great after a days hike. Laundry and BBQ area was available for guest plus you could have breakfast at the hotel across the road.

Cons: Being close to the bay a cooling breeze of a day blowing into the room off the balcony would have been enjoyable except the neighbours beside used their balcony as a smoking area therefore that enjoyment experience was limited.

Pros: Views over the beach and ocean are lovely. The rooms are clean and the bed was super comfortable. The staff were very accommodating when we needed something and always willing to help. It was nice to have the hot spa pools and cold swimming pool availabile to use.

Pros: The pool and hot plunge pools were awesome. The location was especially handy and the staff were so friendly especially the reception ladies.

Cons: Room was not cleaned prior to our check-in. However upon notifying reception, the situation was rectified immediately.

Cons: - Bed exceptionally hard, worst bed I’ve slept in. Backpackers have been more comfortable. - Large yellow stain on top of white duvet, deliberately covered up with a bed runner. Then they provided excuses when asked for another. - Staff not present at reception on two occasions. No assistance when rang bell. - Attempting to breach NZ Consumer Law by stating they will charge an extra $40 if dishes are not cleaned and put away. Such policy is not disclosed at time of booking as would be required. Pretty disgusting to treat paying customers this way for something so petty.... you run a Motel for goodness sake.

Cons: Mucked up our room. Paid for a one bedroom apartment, when I checked in and got given my room number it was a smaller room than what we booked and I had pre-booked for a whole year prior but some how paid the same amount for a smaller room. Was not happy AT ALL.

Cons: one bed was with older mattress. Kitchen towels were not replaced one day

Pros: decent size room, high quality appliances and furniture, comfortable bed and everyday room cleaning and about 10 mins walking to main Pahia. also assistant manager, Hour, was very helpful with his recommendations around the area.

Cons: It can tricky beating everyne else to claiming a car park outside/near your room however its not really a big deal.

Cons: Arrived to check in at 2pm after travelling with tired children to be told the room wasn't ready. Rang again at 2.30pm and got told it still wasnt ready but we could go back and have a swim in the pool. At 3pm I go to the desk again and finally it was ready! For almost $500 for the night I was surprised that we weren't even offered a free drink when directed to the bar to wait. The rooms are not soundproof so our family were woken at 6am by the neighbours having very loud sex. The beds were lumpy with some weird underlay. Overall terrible stay. Such a shame for great facilities and location.

Pros: Walking distance to everything that matters in Paihia (beach, shops, restaurants, etc.). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was great, both for breakfast and meals - the bar service was particularly good. The room was spacious, clean and quiet.

Cons: The bed mattress was very soft for my taste.

Pros: Nice pool with bar & restaurant options. Good quiet location but still close to everything.

Cons: Room was very dark. Not much natural light. Even with all the lights on, room was still dark. Customer service was not great. Arrived 40 mins after check-in time & was told room was not ready but with no apology. Was told it would be another 20 mins. Went back then & still not ready but no apology. If they had been apologetic & offered a free drink while we waited, this would have gone a long way.
