How much is a Honda car rental in Québec City?

The car and pick up and drop off were fine---eventually. But the frustrations came when trying to get Enterprise on the phone to talk to a live person about a serious problem.

Cons:

2 months in advance, we chose the wrong pick-up date in Quebec. We couldn't correct it online or by phone and on arrival had to taxi to the office to try to fix it. Jonte Jyne was very helpful. But Enterprise's voice-mail system is the WORST!

Pros:

Well, we reserved 2 vans, but when we came to pick up, they did not have the vans, so they upgraded us to a Ford Flex. We did like the Ford Flex so that worked out well.

Cons:

Luckily, even though we reserved a van - which is why we went with National, because they showed to have a van. When showed up to pick up, they did not have the van we reserved, so they gave us a Ford Flex. We did like the Ford Flex, so it worked out fine.

Pros:

At first I thought taking a large pickup vehicle would be abit excessive for two. However, with a full tank of fuel already provided and plenty of legroom inside the car it made the 8hr journey to our destination totally worth it. The car also had a great stereo system!

Cons:

Nothing, although would love to drive a manual next time.

The car was clean and roomy.

Cons:

The car I reserved and expected to drive was apparently unavailable and a Kia Soul was the replacement. Your agent assured me that it was an upgrade but I found that it lacked power especially when passing and climbing hills. Rear window visibility could have been better. The radio tone was muddy.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
