The humongous bed and comfy pillows. The staff are friendly and professional. We didn’t eat breakfast or dinner at the hotel, but had room service once and although it was extortionately expensive ($29 for a club sandwich once all the additional charges were added) it was nice.
The hotel is soon to undergone a massive renovation and I think it shows. It is a tired hotel but it was clean and comfortable nonetheless. It’s our honeymoon so I think we were hoping to be wowed by the hotel, but it’s a bit of a ‘Instagram vs. Reality’ situation, but only this time, it’s the photos on booking.com vs. reality. We’ve no idea what the hotel looks like on the outside, it’s covered in scaffolding. We haven’t been affected by any preparatory work, but I think we both feel a bit let down by our stay here for the cost of the room. There are better locations too, and in hindsight, I think we would choose to stay further out of SF because being in this specific location didn’t add any benefit to our stay.
They wouldn’t refill the complimentary water which is unusual when booking a suite and very inconvenient with jetlag
Very small unusual bathroom. Renovation noises, no tea and coffee provisions.
The room was a decent size and had space to walk around
It was hard to find at night since there was construction. There was no sign saying the hotel was right there. We passed it multiple times looking for it.
staff were super friendly and accommodating. we were there on a weekend night and it was very quiet. The hotel is currently wrapped in scaffolding and tarps which was a surprise when we arrived because that wasn't indicated when we booked the room. However, they credited back some of the costs and in the end, it dod not affect the stay at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great and super nice waiter!
that the hotel is about to undergo a major remodel. see above
