I have stayed here before & love this quirky place, the fabulous location, the chilled piano bar, the interesting rooms. Don't get me wrong, it's a great stay!
I was allocated the Terry Room, down by the laundry. The receptionist mentioned the noise of the washing machines but they only ran during the day & didn't bother me at all. However the room was DIRTY! It was night when I arrived & pretty dark, the lighting around the property is moody and atmospheric so I didn't notice the mould & soap stains in the shower, the toe nails on the carpet & dust under the dresser. The bed was freshly made and towels were clean but the cleaning team really need to look at their detail and invest in a vacuum!
The architecture and old rustic feel was beautiful. Really a magical place. Staff was pleasant and in good disposition to help.
It is a beautiful hotel, the only thing I would say that could've been better was that the shower was kinda cold and so was the pool. Also our room had a window high up on the wall that didn't have a curtain and the sun came blazing in early in the morning. Thins like that could've been better, but the place is beautiful.
The pool was incredible. I felt like I was swimming through ancient ruins. The entire hotel with the decorations and one-of-a-kind art sculptures and paintings was like renting a room in a museum. Gorgeous. There are native plants and flowers in all the hallways and rooms. We will definitely be back. Staff is very friendly.
I had a heavy bag with me. When we checked in we were taken to a room that did not have 2 beds as I had reserved. I had to transport the heavy bag from the first room down a narrow stairwell to the second room up the stairs and across the hotel to get the room we wanted. Help with my bag would have been nice.
