10.0 Excellent
Cons: Only a couple of hundred yards to the beach! The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, complementary barbecues if you decide to eat in,great kitchenette, and above all the staff were friendly and tentative and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. I wish my state could've been longer, I will definitely stay there the next time I'm in the area!!
9.4 Excellent
Pros: It was beautiful and the staff was great
Cons: It's far from the main business district and was a bit expensive for a place with no view or restataurant bar of its own the check out is very early

Pros: Location can not be beat: proximity to food & drink, and the gorgeous beach is just a walk across the compound. Nice decorations for Christmas, too. Liked the kitchen. Desk staff was helpful.
Cons: Bed was UNCOMFORTABLE. Too much furniture for the room size. Check-in clerk had dirty fingernails. Although the room looked recently updated, it's with the cheapest finishes. Broken tile in the bathroom.

Overview Reviews
The Ritz-Carlton is a luxurious hotel located on Florida’s west coast. This upscale locale overlooks Sarasota Bay and is steps away from dining and entertainment. Some of the amenities and features guests will find here include an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Tom Fazio, a full-service salon, a fitness center, and over 260 guest rooms with personal balconies. Guests who own pets will be happy to know that this is a pet-friendly establishment. Those needing to tend to business matters can utilize this hotel’s business center and copy/fax services. The hotel’s guest rooms contain many convenient amenities that make visitors feel at home. They possess tea/coffee presentations, a complimentary morning newspaper, and even a plush terry bathrobe if guests forgot to bring theirs. When visitors want to see a play, a musical, or other theatrical performance, they can walk to facilities like the Florida Studio Theatre or the Sarasota Opera House. Those who enjoy reading can stop by the Friends of The Selby Public Library. Five Points Park is a small park located on North Pineapple Avenue and is a popular spot for people-watching or gazing at sculptures. Because this hotel is based in the downtown area, guests are steps away from hip eateries like the nautical-themed restaurant/bar Jack Dusty and the coastal Lido Key Tiki Bar. There’s even an on-site golf club grille with a seasonal menu. The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota is the ideal spot for guests regardless if they’re here for vacation or for business purposes. It has home comforts, a luxurious ambiance, and proximity to entertainment and restaurants.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked the amenities and the location of the Resort.
Cons: The beds sucked.. I stay in 4 and 5 star hotels only and for a Ritz the beds sucked, the sheets were not soft... and I always forget that the rate is inexpensive because they charge you mandatory resort fees per night at check out. Needless to say valet is $24 per day. I feel like I am flying on commercial airlines with the nickel and dimming. Just increase the price and make it all inclusive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool and beach facility at Lido is perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service and the amenities were great.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is excellent. Very nice hotel.

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The staff was very friendly. Had a nice shared courtyard that would have been nice if we wanted to cook out.
Cons: Room was small with insufficient seating. The full size refrig took up too much space. The in-room air conditioner struggled to cool down the room. You could sit on the commode and wash your hands. It was a block from the beach.
6.0 Good
Pros: Best thing about this hotel was the staff when we had a problem with the air conditioner they found us a room at points of rock within 20 minutes
Cons: We did not stay there we had issues with the air conditioning and we had to move to a point of rocks location at 9:30 at night Too Small!!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: really great place
Cons: a little to expensive
4.8 Okay
Pros: I liked the proximity to the beach .
Cons: Our room was filthy. It looked like the only thing that was changed between guests was the bedding... And I'm not even sure about that .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were modern, clean and cool. Views of the ocean, and kids loved the pool and ocean. So convenient to St Armand's Circle - we walked there and also used the hotel van which was great. We all enjoyed our stay and there was 10 of us!
5.3 Okay
Pros: The location and beach are great. The poolside tiki hut is a place I could stay all day, and the pina coladas were great.
Cons: The rooms are old. Mold in the shower and baseboards are falling apart. Our group had 4 rooms at the resort and all of them were the same (and yes, all had mold on the shower curtain). When paying $200+ per night, you should get a lot more.
5.6 Okay
Pros: Great location, that's about all they have though
Cons: Paid rate of nearly $350 for a Friday night, tried to check in at 6 room wasn't ready, had to go back and check in again at 7:30. Horrible room next to parking lot and noisy early morning housekeeping carts. Next morning housekeeping was knocking at 10 a.m. to vacate and clean the room. Buyer beware as they say. Won't be back.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: To my surprise we were upgraded to the newly renovated rooms in the south tower. We were given a two bedroom suite with kitchenet and double balcony with amazing views. Even though it rained and was overcasted most of the time we still had a fantastic stay, for the simple reason that the accommodations were so great.
4.5 Okay
Pros: the beach and the shoppes
Cons: room was old and out dated tiles broken carpet ripped room was just run down.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location. Great view. They have one of the most friendly, outgoing, accommodating and polite staff I have ever come across. Very nice pool & hot tub facilities - separate areas for family and adults - a nice feature. Quality lounge chairs & towels at both the beach and pool. Only ate one breakfast at the resort but the food and service were both excellent. I would certainly return.
Cons: Set your GPS the first time coming here - when approaching from the north there is a palm tree partially blocking their sign so you could easily drive past the entrance before you realize where you are. After that, it's no problem. Also, use Washington St, etc. to bypass St. Armands Circle as you will avoid slow traffic around the circle. This will bring you right to their entrance.

Pros: Clean, modern resort.
Cons: Ability to self-park would be nice. Valets were severely understaffed, so there were hoards of people waiting to pick up their cars. Traffic was backed up waiting to drop off.

Pros: The location was good. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: There were hairs all over the shower floor. It was very late at night so we didn't have the energy to change rooms. Also, there were stains on the couch. We took pictures of the hair and stains and showed it to one of the managers the next morning and she gave us a 50% discount.
