Basecamp Tahoe City

The Basecamp Hotel is a unique "green" hotel in South Lake Tahoe. It is a hip, outdoorsy hotel designed to inspire adventure and communal activities for couples, solo travelers, and families.

The Basecamp Hotel is near the basin of Lake Tahoe, right on the California/Nevada border. The hotel offers a cozy camping theme that blends perfectly with the location which is convenient for outdoor adventures. The Lakeside Marina is a 10-minute walk and offers boat and water sports equipment rentals, while the Heavenly Mountain Resort is a six-minute drive. There are several shops, bars, casinos, and restaurants within a 10-minute radius, including Harvey's Lake Tahoe Casino and Hotel, just across the street. The Tahoe Rim Trail in Nevada is four minutes away by car, and The Lake Tahoe Airport is a 15-minute drive away.

Camping comes indoors through décor and amenities such as a small, quaint bar that serves gourmet hot cocoa and locally brewed beer. There is also a small on-site restaurant that features comforts like a fireplace and flat-screen TV. There is also a long wooden dinner table, where communal dinners are held seasonally to encourage explorers (guests) to socialize. The younger crowd also flocks to the small rooftop hot tub and fire pit where s'mores kits are for sale.

Rooms at the hotel are large, hip, and camping-themed with quirky touches, flat-screen TVs, and balconies. Pops of bright color and quirky decorations such as hand-drawn silkscreened maps, lamps that resemble camping lanterns, and camp coolers add to the adventurously designed rooms. The suites and family-sized rooms feature bunk beds, projector screens, and kitchenettes with mini-fridges and microwaves. The Great Indoors rooms offer a tent pitched over a king bed, a picnic table, a fake fire pit, and forest wallpaper.
