This is one of my favourite luxury hotels in Temecula for its boutique atmosphere and careful attention to detail. From the sun-soaked patio—a perfect spot to start or end your day—to contemporary guestrooms and sweeping vineyard views, it’s the pinnacle of Temecula stays.

Not too big and not too small, the adobe-style hotel has 90 rooms as well as several on-site restaurants, including The Bouquet, The Restaurant at Pointe, and The Cellar.

The fine linens and comfy mattress lull you to sleep after a long day of sipping and exploring, the luxurious showers make you feel like you’re at a spa, and the pool—complete with poolside service—invites you to take a load off. The staff can even arrange hot air balloon adventures, horseback riding, and spa treatments.

Don't write off chain hotels for your California stay. Consistent, reliable, and clean, the Hilton Garden Inn Temecula is easily one of the best hotels in town for comfort and affordability. What's great about this property is that it's within easy walking distance of restaurants, bars, and cafés; it's also just around 20 minutes by car from 40 wineries.

The hotel has plenty of inviting touches across the property, including cozy outdoor seating with fireplaces, clean and modern dining spaces, spacious, well-appointed guestrooms, and common areas for easy gathering.

There's even an on-site convenience store (ideal if you happen to have forgotten something while travelling or have a sudden hankering for a snack), and free Wi-Fi and parking.

You’re in for a treat at the Temecula Creek Inn, which is tucked away in Southern California's wine country. The sprawling property spans 300 acres, which includes 130 guestrooms, an entire golf course, an in-ground pool, handsome mature oak trees, and gardens.

There’s also a range of culinary options on-site, including delicious farm-to-table dining at Corkfire Kitchen and handcrafted cocktails at The Lounge.

Easily one of the best hotels in Temecula, I love this property because it feels like a home-away-from-home, and the serene, wide-open spaces encourage you to get outside and really soak up the great weather. The rustic country setting adds to the ambiance too.

Another one of the best hotels in Temecula is the South Coast Winery Resort & Spa. For starters, the architecture here is classic Southern California with its stucco walls, red-tiled roofs, and vibrant landscaping complete with sparkling fountains.

It’s also a winery, putting you right in the heart of Temecula’s wine country with beautiful vineyard views and an exciting event calendar that includes wine tours, festive dinners, and live music. The fact you can stay right on the grounds is amazing.

Guests can choose from villas or suites—both quite roomy and decorated with traditional, cozy details like ornate bed frames, neutral tones, fireplaces, and private balconies. There’s also an on-campus spa, GrapeSeed, with a heated saltwater pool and a range of treatments—trust me when I say you won’t be disappointed, whatever you book.

If you’re looking for one of the top hotels in Temecula that’s for just for adults, the charming Gaia Inn & Spa is a top contender. The sprawling estate sits on three acres, and despite being only 11 kilometres from the Old Town it feels like a remote retreat, complete with a sparkling pool, hot tub, and endless vineyard views.

Along with being adult-only—a great perk for romantic getaways—what’s especially nice about this hotel is that it feels very intimate thanks to only having six suites. Just make sure to book early, as they do get snapped up quickly.

Each suite is meticulously and uniquely decorated with a coastal-Cali-meets-wine-country aesthetic. The beds are also especially comfortable. All guests have access to hiking trails along with those wow-worthy sunset views.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott is one of the best hotels in Temecula for those travelling on a budget. Wallet-friendly, welcoming, and well-kept, you know you’re in for a great stay in wine country when you book here.

A serious steal in an otherwise pricey area, this hotel provides everything you need for a pleasant vacation, including comfortably furnished guestrooms, on-site dining, a sundry shop with snacks and drinks, and free breakfast.

I recommend this hotel to everyone from singles and groups of friends to families and couples. A notable perk is that it’s within walking distance of some of the town's must-visit eateries, including Bailey's Fine Dining and Rosa’s Café. It also has a 24/7 fitness centre and pool for those who like to keep up with their fitness routine while on vacation.

For a solid stay in town that’s easy on your wallet, I recommend the Best Western Plus. (Note this is different from the Best Western Country Inn.) One of the best hotels in Temecula for all sorts of people—including single travellers, couples, and families—it promises an affordable, comfortable stay right where all the action is.

The suites provide hotel guests with everything they need, including clean and spacious rooms with large flat-screen TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, and comfortable beds. All the rooms are also equipped with a desk, which is perfect for business travellers, and a roomy seating area.

The hotel also provides a free hot breakfast, an indoor heated pool, on-site fitness facility, and freshly brewed coffee all day long.

Even the drive up to Carter Estate Winery and Resort left me awestruck with its towering Italian Cypress trees, palms, and vineyards. Better yet, when you arrive for check-in, you’re greeted with freshly baked cookies.

You have your pick between two accommodation types: bungalows and suites. The former is a large room with seating, an outdoor patio, dining table, and a king-size bed—it also comes with a bottle of your selected wine. The suites are even bigger—nearly double the size—and feel positively decadent with oversize soaking tubs, multiple beds, a seating area, and a patio.

Enjoy on-site dining at The Vineyard Grill, where you can feast on dishes like rockfish ceviche and flat iron steaks. There’s also a lovely pool where you can get poolside service, all the better for soaking up that Californian sun.

If you’re looking for an affordable stay, book the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Murrieta. The relatively low nightly rate is definitely a factor in why this is one of my preferred hotels in Temecula, but in this case, I've found that affordability doesn’t mean skimping on quality.

Located just 12 minutes from Temecula proper, I love that the hotel provides clean and comfortable accommodations, shared communal spaces, and even has an on-site restaurant where kids eat for free. Guests also have access to a full gym, pool, and a business centre, which is useful if you're visiting for work.

The free continental buffet breakfast is another bonus, as is the close proximity to wineries and other Temecula attractions you won’t want to miss.

The Villa Inn is another of the best hotels in Temecula for an adult-only vacation in wine country. What’s more, this one is ultra luxurious. Romance and life’s comforts are ripe for the picking here, thanks to spacious suites outfitted with comfortable bedding and seating. Each one also comes with incredible views over wine country.

While you're there, you must take a dip in the resort-style pool; aim for a sunrise or sunset swim, or splash around midday when the sun's high in the sky.
