Pros: The view from the hotel is great. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Breakfast was limited to cold items but was healthy. There is list of restaurants near hotel/house

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing. Location was great. Great value. Having beach chairs, coolers and umbrellas included and readily available were key
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place was quintessential Caribbean retreat in every detail. The grounds were amazing from the lush foliage to comfy reading nooks to the rooftop deck overlooking the ocean. (Instagram worthy spots around every corner) The room was huge and the decor was light and relaxing. The pool was the ideal place to cool down after a day in the waves, but I could have spent a whole day there. The location was perfect...just a few minutes stroll to the restaurants and bars but on the quiet end of the oceanfront promenade.
Cons: The bed was the comfiest I’ve ever slept in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Immensely enjoyed staying at the Malecon House! Great location, enjoyed every minute.

Cons: The rooms had no clock, phone, or TV
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sooo clean
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful, pristine and modern hotel in a great location-our room Unfortunately had no view, be sure to ask for a room W a balcony or view if this is your preference~my only disappointment was that i expected a hotel directly on the ocean with beach access but this doesn’t seem To be typical For Vieques. You must drive To the beaches and what a wonderful Surprise!! We saw some of the most amazing untouched beaches there-like a true paradise! Be sure to plan your trip and the beaches you want to visit in advance . You will need a Jeep , which you can rent-there are a few rental Agencies nearby that will pick you up! Enjoy Vieques!
Cons: Our room had No view No beach access from hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, welcoming, great complimentary breakfast. The host was very accommodating --give her a RAISE! ha......
Cons: Pool looked a little 'tired'......It would be helpful to put lights up around the perimeter & gravel paths. Wish the pool was open later. Overall, a wonderful and delightful stay

Pros: Amazingly helpful staff, great amenities (free beach toys, cooler, chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear for guests), continental breakfast to start the day (since not much else on the island opens early!). Great room, nice touches.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse is clean and smart and completely comfortable. Our host Ileana was gracious, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful We are a family of 15 and Ileana went out of her way to beautifully accommodate us
Cons: ...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean place. Enjoyed the rooftop patio for morning coffee. Appreciated the extras provided: bag chairs for beach, cooler tote, beach towels.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and spent the time to take us through a map of the island and point out some of the best beaches and other points of interest. The room was a decent value.
Cons: Our room had tiny ants, which of course we realize may be due to a prior guest leaving food out and not the fault of the property. Also, the mattress was not especially supportive and comfortable. Just a heads up: there are stray dogs running around the island. Unfortunately, in the neighborhood near the hotel is an aggressive dog that we nicknamed Grumpy. Not the best experience, but we fended Grumpy off with sticks and rocks. We survived...was funny after the fact, but if you’re afraid of dogs, may be less fun. A little further away from the hotel, we were chased by about one dozen chihuahua sized dogs, which was pretty entertaining lol.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Home-like , comfort
Cons: Bathroom a little bit small. Internet weak
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and attentive.
Cons: Rooms didn’t have a tv but WiFi worked great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Ileana, the manager, was so nice - generous with her time & knowledge, accommodating when we needed to leave our bags before and after check in and generally made us feel welcome in every way. Cute room, comfy bed, in-room bathroom, fridge, AC, coffee. Lovely communal porch, great breezes. Walking distance to main area and beaches, but far enough for peace & quiet, beautiful views. For those without a car (like us) a bit of a hilly climb, but not a bad walk. Felt like a safe neighborhood. We walked around comfortably day and night.
Cons: Can't think of anything bad!
7.5 Good
Pros: It was a good value for the price and close to the wedding venue, nice view and breeze on the outdoor patio area. Room was small and hot even with the AC, bed was extra firm, no coffee creamer was supplied the last day but overall it was a good stay. Loved to see the horses outside in the mornings. It’s also pretty close to the main strip so the location is good. The staff were super friendly ! So sweet!
Cons: Firm beds, AC couldn’t handle the heat and rooms don’t seem to get the cross breeze so it was hot.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Iliana was very attentive to our needs. The location is beautiful, and about a 10- minute walk to the bioluminescent bay tours meeting spot, and street with a handful of nice shops and restaurants. It's truly a place to "escape" to with no television and limited internet connectivity. I'm sure that's by design to ensure that guests unplug and relax. My only suggestion would be to perhaps offer a couple of bottles of water in the mini fridge, just to help until guests can walk back down the hill to one of the shops. As a plus, the most amazing beach is a short hike away. We happened to be the only people on the beach this day. The water was absolutely beautiful. We could see our feet with water above our ankles. Overall, very happy with the beauty of the place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spotless. The terrace is lovely and has beautiful views. The lady at check in was nice and accommodating. She showed us a map of the island and took her time to answer all our questions. Highly recommended!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is not a luxurious location but the rooms were very cleaned. Which is a plus. Friendly owners.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to all you need in Esperanza. Nice large room. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Friendly host. Clean for the most part. Plenty of towels for the bathroom and the pool (unfortunately we didn't have enough time to take a dip in the pool). Lovely garden.
Cons: no soap nor shampoo. No light on the wooden stairs going up to our room which made them dangerous at night... Almost fell down....
9.6 Excellent
Pros: First time to Vieques and knowing things could be limited in such a small island, the fact the location was within walking distance to restaurants, tour guides, markets, bakeries, etc., was a major plus. Jay and Lisa where excellent explaining everything we needed to know. They also had plenty of basic needs available to us such as coolers, beach chairs, beach towels, etc. Love the cats hanging around. Horses come to visit too.
Cons: I would’ve like more blankets but that’s just a personal thing. I like to make a nest in my bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lisa and J are great! They were very welcoming and the room/location were both excellent. They even accommodated us for a second night which we didn't expect could happen considering we only booked one night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The proximity of the location to restaurants was great and to the waterfront. The room was spacious clean and comfortable. There was complimentary breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Location only a few yards from the Trade Winds restaurant the meeting place for the BioBay Nighttime Kayaking Tour. The casual, whimsical decor with cat themed murals are delightful. The lash eye-pleasing vegetation also provides fresh mangos, papayas and star fruit. There are also fresh eggs from the free-ranging chickens. The friendly cats are available for 24 hr. love and affection. You couldn't ask for more accommodating, pleasant and helpful hosts.
Cons: During the early morning, I didn't appreciate the crowing of the rooster. Perhaps, only those in the detached "Love Shack "experience this issue. Nevertheless, it is charming for an overnight stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners really take good care of this place and pride in providing a clean and quality experience. The place is very simple, safe, and clean. We loved all the little extras such as breakfast, beach chairs, coolers, that were included with your rental as well as the things you could rent such as snorkel gear. We took advantage of all these conveniences. The owners are also a wealth of knowledge and can offer you advice on anything and where to go.
Cons: We liked it all. Nothing to say that was bad. Everything was great and we were close to all we wanted to do and see. Thanks for such great service!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I booked this place last minute, an hour before checking in. The host, Lisa, was very welcoming and allowed me to get checked in early. I feel like the photos I saw on were a poor representation of this place. The property is beautiful, so many amenities and the rooms are nice!!! The clean pool with plenty of chairs was an added bonus. Free parking on the property if you have a rental car. Safe location and a convenient store a minute walk away. I had the small little casita room in the backyard, it felt private and relaxing. Highly recommend this property!!!
Cons: Huge cockroach in my room, but that is to be expected on an island. Nothing against the property.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, casual beach theme. Sealing had a window, quietness.
Cons: Outdoors cleanliness
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, amenities and staff
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is very convenient, really close to restaurants and tour's pick up points. Rooms were clean, a lot of towels, which is always great!. A lot of common areas for guest to spend some relax time at the hotel.
Cons: Mosquitos were everywhere, but that is a problem everywhere around the island.

Pros: I love the structure of the building. Was beautiful everything. The room very original and beautiful. The pool and the view of The rooftop.
Cons: -The curtains do not cover the morning clarity. -Street noise was heard all in the room. Difficulty sleeping and resting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and welcoming. We got a free upgrade on check-in to a larger ocean front room. The buidling itself is a work of concrete art but its the natural beauty that brought us to Vieques and the views from our room made our stay extra enjoyable. We stayed the day before storm/hurricane dorian passed PR. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable when we were forced to stay an extra night due to all planes/ferries being grounded as hurricane Dorian passed by. Free food and drink all day and charged a discounted rate for the night. Absolutely recommend and will come back.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms and views
Cons: Minimal options for free breakfast but close restaurant if you want more hearty meals
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great Location and hotel design. The supply of beach chairs for guests to take to the beach was a nice detail.
Cons: Food and drink service at the rooftop pool would have been nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good stay
8.5 Excellent
Pros: El Blok is beatifully designed and very comfortable. The rooftop (with pool) is amazing and the location is great.
Cons: It still runs like a small BnB and in our stay they had problem with their liquor license and could not sell alcohol. We intended to have a romantic dinner that night, but ended up at the W for dinner.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The facilities are beautiful.

Pros: Staff was excellent and very friendly. Would recommend for a week or weekend getaway. Very relaxing ambience.
Cons: N/a
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The frendliness of the employees
Cons: I called to fix the fridge and they did not went to fixed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were awesome! !! The views were incredible. ..
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The property was very well kept and the staff was very attentive. The food at Sorce was excellent and the cafe provided less expensive options for breakfasts and snacks.
Cons: There were several events going on the weekend we were there so the pool drink/food service was slower. In the morning when housekeeping was making their rounds they constantly let the doors slam shut. One would think that the staff would recognize this and try to prevent this annoyance. All of the room doors slammed unless you stopped it and closed it gently, so sleeping in was very difficult. . If you're a light sleeper that wants to sleep in, you may have issues staying here. Room service also banged on our door around midnight to deliver food but they had the wrong room.

Pros: The manager Ian was extremely helpful. Giving a lot of good information and recommendations, and also driving around the island for a very moderate fee. Serving good coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Julie was an excellent host who provided us with transportation as well as great recommendations. She was super friendly and accommodating. The place itself was very cute and colorful! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Near to everywhere.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: If there's a large group, the average price per person is really good. But as a solo traveler the price is on the higher end
Cons: The location is the only thing that didn't work for me. And several Taxis refused to pick me up.
6.2 Good
Pros: Walking distance to ferry, pretty much saw nobody in the day/night we were there at the hostel. Location has character - you might feel sketchy about it due to the island. It's very lonely and dark.
Cons: Location was difficult to find, no visible signs or markings it's the name of the hostel.
7.1 Good
Pros: The Manager was very friendly and personable. Great for groups as the family room can accommodate up to 5ppl. Upstairs there's a hangout area which is cool and you could buy a burger for $5. They offer laundry service @$10 though. They offer beach towels, beach chairs etc for rent and even have a car for rent. Overall great for a 1 night stay.
Cons: Great for groups but not ideal for a budget solo traveler since they do not offer single dorm beds. I couldn't get any taxis to pick me up from here and ended up missing out on my snorkeling expedition. Not the fault of the hostel per se but most ppl had no idea where this hostel was located and kept sending me somewhere else. I finally got a ride after walking into town. The hostel is located in an area called Isabel which is about 6 blocks from the ferry terminal but nowhere close to where all the fun is located which is in the Esperanza area. So it really depends on what you're looking for. If you're stranded near the ferry terminal which is what happened to me, then it's a life saver. There was only 1 bathroom on the ground floor so that was difficult since it was pouring cats n dogs to go upstairs.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It isn’t far from a lot of stuff like beach’s store and the ferry
Cons: The lighting isn’t the best
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, good price.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ian took us to his beach camp at bio beach, so trippy and fun
Cons: no way , i wouldn't change paradise.

Cons: This woman made a mistake and did not properly take our reservation. She did not take ownership for her mistake and charged us even though were not able to go, due to her mistake. 8.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views from the cottage, lovely breakfasts of fresh bread and cheese, and extremely helpful staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and accommodating. Willing to pick up at the ferry. Nice and eager to please. Breakfast was available but a bit on the small side. Still, not many places even offer breakfast. Overall a quiet secluded place.
Cons: Animals are everywhere. Horses, dogs, cats, lizards or geckos (in our room), and roosters crowing. It was a bit much when the wind carries the stench. Kelly and Julie are cool but their help isn't anything special. We waited 10 min. For the office worker to get off a personal call to check us in, then he said it was a person calling about a reservation. I don't think so. The location stinks. Getting there is a pain. It is up a steep hill. So if you don't have a car or scooter it is going to be tough to get anywhere once there. Parking is on the road.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Wave Hotel in Vieques (Isabel II), you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Vieques Ferry Terminal and La Chiva Beach. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The customer service was excellent. First, readers have to understand Vieques. It's a very natural, almost undisturbed island of very warm and kind hearted people. It's not a place you visit for a 5-star resort experience. That said, we were treated very well, and offered clean, safe accomodations over a beautiful view of the ocean. We were stranded due to pending hurricane Dorian, and the hotel didn't hesitate to take us in and provide excellent hospitality. I'm just sorry I can't remember the gentleman's name who made us feel so welcomed. I have nothing bad to say about Wave Hotel. Very grateful for the kindness shown.
5.8 Okay
Cons: It needs renovations. The photos were not the reality. it was clean but it needs an update. The manager was very nice.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The view and the guy at the front desk were great! He was very helpful, knowledgeable and very nice!
Cons: The whole place was rough. Only two towels. No face, hand or floor towel. The floor was sticky. The top blanket was so dirty and stained. The water in the shower didn’t even get lukewarm. The whole building was falling apart and to get to the ocean was extremely difficult. Public restroom was one of the worst ever.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Pool was not very appealing at all...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was a wonderful room the view was awesome and the service was responsive when needed..I enjoy my stay and will recommend friends and family.
Cons: The view and the price.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The place is falling apart. It should be condemned, l understand the hurricane took it’s toll on the island. However, there is some sort of construction going on so the pool area is none. Rooms need upgrade and there were roaches in the bathroom. The only positive was the sunset and water pressure in the shower. So disappointing, l took my friend for her birthday and was so embarrassed. I felt deceived, duped, you name it.
Cons: Horror
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Close to the ferry
Cons: No one present to check us in. Had to call man back to hotel to get in room. Rooms are not clean and dilapidated. Rooms are not what they appear on the internet. Pool was broken and unclean for quite some time. Bugs and lizards in hallway. The hotel restaurant was closed and appeared to have been for long time. No parking at hotel. Very limited parking on street. Very risky neighborhood. People begging on street outside hotel. No refrigerator. Coffee maker but no coffee. No wifi. Tv channels did not work without internet. No one at desk to get password no info regarding anything. We actually left the room and did not stay. Room was to be 2 queens. Got 1 queen and 1 full bed.
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything was good except the complimentary breakfast.
Cons: Maybe if you have complimentary breakfast inside a more variety of breakfast food.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Gross, under construction , doesn’t look anything like the pictures.
