Pros: The room was very well furnished with many facilities. Indeed, it would put many high rated hotels to shame. Breakfast was cooked to order and very good value at £5.
Cons: Arrived at 2.45pm but was unable to check in until after 5.00 pm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great communication and instructions received prior to the trip. Staff were very accommodating. Room was beautifully decorated and presented. There was a large menu choice at breakfast. All looked extremely yummy. It was just a shame I didn’t have room to try more!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The room was spacious ,tastefully decorated and very well-equipped. Ground coffee bags much appreciated and a range of teas available! Immaculately clean bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom with bathrobes, quality towels and lovely toiletries. Appreciated the nice touch of cotton pads and cotton buds provided. Breakfast ordered the night before (excellent range of options) was cooked to order - delicious and beautifully presented. I would thoroughly recommend this guest house. Thank you to all concerned.
Cons: Nothing!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast and room very comfortable. Staff very friendly, a little further from the racecourse we were visiting than expected but easy to arrange a taxi.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully presented breakfast, delicious fresh food and all served with warm smiles.
7.5 Good
Pros: Parking is very helpful. Breakfast very nice. Staff are friendly. Room really clean.
Cons: Can't book into room until 5pm onwards. A bit out of town. Rooms at the front will have road traffic noise. Didn't bother us but if you are a light sleeper it will.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and a comfortable bed.
Cons: Little bit warm and on busy road so opening window made it quite noisy. Check in of 5pm is very late
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean modern room. Large fluffy towels. Scrummy breakfast with great coffee.
Cons: I didn’t like that I hadn’t realised the radiator was on in the morning of the hottest day of the year-my fault. I didn’t like that I left my pyjamas behind-my fault!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I recently stayed at Wentbridge House because I was training in Yorkshire. Hotel was absolutely stunning. I was greeted with a Fentimens lemonade and a freshly baked brownie which I felt was a beautiful touch. My room was spacious and clean with a gorgeous view of bunnies running up and down the hill. Classic FM had been left on the radio on a low volume taking the sophistication of the room to another level. I ordered room service, it arrived promptly and was delicious. Finally, breakfast was fantastic. Great variety, beautifully cooked and elegantly presented. I will be staying again next time I am in Yorkshire.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: great stay albeit waitress staff must be new! little experience showed in some..
9.0 Excellent

Pros: Located in an ideal position
Cons: Nothing
6.0 Good
Pros: I have stayed at this hotel before and it didn't disappoint in terms of beautiful location and its facilities. It is a charming hotel very beautifully restored and very comfortable.
Cons: The service was very disappointing. After a 4 hour drive I was looking forward to a lovely dinner...as a vegetarian I was hoping for a delicious salad and ordered the burrata salad on offer from the menu....I had to wait an hour and then when it arrived it was miniscule basically a spoonful of tomato and the tiniest amount of burrata. And then again as I had to leave early the next morning I arranged for a Room Service breakfast which never arrived so again very disappointing as it spoiled a fantastic stay in a beautiful hotel
10.0 Excellent

7.0 Good
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful on phone and in person. Very good full English with all cereals, juice, fruit options included. Good position and setting as needed to be overnight and local in Ossett.
Cons: Yes room was a single with compact proportions. Clean but wash facilities showing age and need tidy up.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted well and once checked in shown to our room which was on the ground floor. There were french windows which opened onto an enclosed walled garden which was lovely to sit in. The superior room has modern facilities although the building is old and the room had character with two gargoyles over the bed. There was plenty of drawer space to put clothes in dressing table and wardrobe which also had an iron and ironing board. We only stayed for one night and I noticed there were brochures about things to do in the area which is useful if you are staying for a holiday. The ensuite was clean and contemporary and also showed the character of the building. We ate in The Mews public house/hotel which we would advise to book as very busy. The food was well cooked and tasted delicious there was a varied choice and cooked to order and was reasonably priced. We also enjoyed our breakfast. The Mews Hotel is on a main road, but in the public house I was not conscious of traffic noise and I could not hear traffic in our room which was at the rear of the public house. We would stay again and hope to stay longer to explore the area which I learnt from my one night in Ossett has plenty of local history and interesting places to visit nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Polite staff, clean rooms, nice pub and beer.
Cons: No complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really friendly and helpful. Couldn’t do enough for you. Brekkie was very good. We had lunch; the wife had soup, which was delicious, and my open ham sandwich was more like a full plated salad and the ham was what I call ‘proper’ carved ham, not processed stuff.
Cons: The hairdryer lead wasn’t long enough to dry hair in front of the mirror.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was very nice had the full one could not fault it
Cons: n a
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything Very clean, food was excellent and every single member of staff was helpful and friendly. We were a party of 7 and they couldn’t do enough for us

Cons: Bar area had a lot of wedding guests in , when I expected them to have there own bar as we were having lunch. But not a big problem.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location was beautiful and the pool area divine..the modern side of the building was great and the staff were great..
Cons: The rooms in old part of the building were very worn and tired and in need of a revamp..the shower room was quite smelly and again very tired and grubby to the point I asked for a room change..for the price not good value for money..

9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had a great welcome .. Friendly staff , great option of food and great portions sizes.. price were very good . The rooms well equipped.. would definitely go back
7.4 Good
Pros: Fun to see the old estate, but the hotel itself seems outdated. The pool was great, and the service was friendly.
Cons: You could feel the springs in the mattress. Also, we were in a room in the basement with very little light, maybe our experience would have been better in another room.
7.0 Good
Pros: The building and garden and lake. Food excellent.
Cons: Room a little faded, being woken early by slamming doors on nearby rooms and then cleaning. Is it too much to expect cleaning to start after checkout time?

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good tasty food with gluten free options. Interesting building and pretty surroundings. Lots of choice for breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff at reception and at breakfast.
Cons: Bed was a bit too firm for me. Despite making a reservation for the Jacobean Pub, the staff were a bit off hand about allocating a table. Whereas another couple, who arrived shortly afterwards had a table reserved for them. Seems a bit haphazard.
7.1 Good
Pros: This was my sisters wedding and the location was amazing, setting so beautiful the day it’s self couldn’t have been better! We were so lucky with the weather too so spent a lot of time in the beautiful grounds!!
Cons: Unfortunately we didn’t get a winks sleep. It was the hottest day of the year and our aircon didn’t work and our bedding was wet when we got to the room. We tried to ring reception to tell them but there was no one there as it was late so not a 24hr reception. Was a shame as we we left the room at 7:30 the next day because we couldn’t breathe with how hot it was. I told reception following this but unfortunately nothing was done.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The building and grounds were beautiful and the location was very picturesque.
Cons: The service in the bar on the evening we arrived were very rude while the manager at the reception was very welcoming and the staff at breakfast were lovely. We were staying with a 6month old baby, they do not provide cots and with no bath in the en-suite made it difficult to bath our small one. The shower had low pressure and the temperature went cold if the sink was used or the toilet flushed. Very basic faculties in the room. The room window looks out onto a roof. On the two nights we stayed you could hear the music from the weddings as if you were in the room itself so it was impossible for us all to sleep until the music had ceased so we didn’t get a full nights rest.
7.5 Good
Pros: Fabulous place!

Pros: The hotel is set within picturesque gardens with great views of the countryside. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our room, with en suite was large and very modern. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was extremely clean.. The town centre or racecourse can be reached by taxi for £3. We ordered a takeaway meal ,which was delivered to the door and was ideal.
Cons: The view from our room window was of the back of the hotel and nearby houses. There was no food available after 6pm. The downstairs toilets were rather dated.

Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good central location. Self service breakfast lots to choose from including cooked items, cereal, fruit etc
Cons: More choice of hot breakfast items.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent for public transport access to local hotspots
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My Partner and I were the official Photographers at Longboat Pride (just round the corner from the Holiday Inn, at The New Union), so the hotel was ideal for us as we travelled up from the Midlands. Couldn’t ask for a better location! Loved the food selection available, didn’t expect a full breakfast as we paid so little for our room/stay. Definitely smashed our expectations.
Cons: We joined breakfast at a fairly busy time, wasn’t much seating left, and a lot of the hot food was in the process of being replenished. I guess that’s life really, I understand it’s almost impossible to have a member of staff stood over, monitoring the breakfast area- and though it isn’t a massive deal, as when the food came it was lovely, it’s just a little bit of feedback. Overall, very impressed!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is great for access to town, a couple of minutes walking distance. The staff were helpful and a wide range of choice for breakfast.
Cons: The only two points I’d raise is the bathroom had a slight funny smell on arrival and the double bed is a slightly on the small side.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The two managers who worked there were really stretched and juggled there time and effort to make sure customers were happy, credit to them both for trying their best.
Cons: The cleaning staff were very rude to us, we had travelled from Hull and desperately needed the toilet on arrival but the cleaner angrily refused us entry as she was still cleaning them, it would have only taken a few minutes to use the toilet but the answer was a blunt no. Our tea coffee sugar items were empty in the room so we couldn't have a cup of tea. Also our room was really dusty so much so we complained to the Manager who came up and cleaned the room her self, the waste bin was full of rubbish and the bedding had yellow stains on. The manager and me changed the bed. When we took the sheet off the bed the bed topper was totally stained, it was really disgusting to know we had to sleep on that bed topper. The breakfast items took ages to be replenished and I waited 15 minutes for the bacon to arrive even though I was told it would be 2 minutes. By the time it arrived my family had finished their breakfast. On the way back to the room we past a room where the cleaners were cleaning a vacated room, the cleaner was sat on the floor using a pillowcase to clean the used cups from the previous guest, I was appalled by what I saw. We were offered a free drink at the bar but that is no consolation for our experience. There is no excuse for uncleanliness, it's the number one thing that every customer expects as standard.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed and great breakfast! Stayed here many times and always great and staff always friendly and helpful
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious. Room was large and very clean. Car park
Cons: Car park could be a bit larger
4.6 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: The bed was not comfortable and the room & toilet not too clean

Pros: Staff were ace! Really friendly and obliging. The room was comfortable enough, although a little smaller than we'd imagined. Breakfast was delicious and 24/7 cafe was a real bonus! Shower room was perfectly adequate.
Cons: Not a very soundproof'd hotel; neighbours opposite were a bit inconsiderate, talking loudly and slamming their doors which was a problem for us. However, I'm sure not every guest would experience this.

Cons: Reception not manned Small bathroom could only have 1 person Booked triple only 2 beds Breakfast an odd experience
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was nice in the adjoining restaurant
Cons: The room was very dated and we had 2 rickety single beds pushed together and a mattress that didn't fill the bed by about 6 inches either and hung over the end of the bed and the whole thing was uncomfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely meal in Sloanes, part of the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was brilliant from start to finish - fantastic and helpful staff - lovley breakfast too :)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Close to railway station. Great on site restaurant. Large spacious bedroom
Cons: Bathroom small
6.3 Good
Pros: Bed was really comfortable and the shower was good
Cons: Breakfast was a little on the greasy side and being above the function room it was very noisy to relax
6.3 Good
Pros: Excellent location for town and bars. Room spacious clean and a good breakfast. Nice bar in hotel.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location to wakefield city centre was excellent only a few minutes wlak to the shopping area. The hotel appeared recently refurbished and was immaculately clean. We got a great deal for half board, which was good value for having a 3 course dinner included. The dinner also offered a decent choice for vegetarians which we both are. Restaurant staff were pleasant and attentive.
Cons: Breakfast was basic (Cereal and juices, tea / coffee) and didn't have a menu. We were asked if we would like anything else for breakfast but without a menu its difficult to specify without having to keep asking 'Do you have....?'. Free Wi-Fi is offered but no info in rooms or check-in card on the password, on our first night stay there was no staff at desk or on the phone to answer the question. However we were able to obtain the password the next morning. Housekeeping came to our room before 9am and we asked if they could come back a little later as we weren;t quite ready, unfortauntely they didn't come back.
6.7 Good
Pros: Really friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: As it is a city centre hotel it was very noisy at night both inside and out. It might be better on weekdays but not good on Friday and Saturday nights.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fab location nice rooms
7.3 Good
Pros: Value for money. Very clean and tidy room/bathroom.
7.6 Good
Pros: Spotlessly clean and well appointed room
Cons: 1 light bulb over bed missing
6.0 Good
Pros: Restaurant is very good. Hotel and restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very close to the train station, a 5-minute walk to the town centre, shopping malls, market, local restaurant, and the bus station.
Cons: Noise from adjoining room kept me awake most of the night which means that wall/sound insulation is non-existent. Hotel seems to be popular with the young people, which means a bit noisy and rowdy for a senior visitor like me.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Near station. There is a good restaurant in the hotel.
Cons: It is good to have a wheelchair accessible bathroom, but not fo normal people without mentioning in advance. It is difficult to use. E.G. small low level basin.
6.4 Good
Pros: Clean, modern facilities; convenient location.
Cons: I would expect more than a single coat hanger.
6.0 Good
Pros: Clean and freshly decorated
Cons: No drinking glasses, chair or shaver power point in room. Reakfast choice very limited

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, a few minutes from M1. Quiet and confortable. Helpful staff.
Cons: We got given a room which had someone else's belongings in it, bag, shoes, clothes in the wardrobe, towel was used. Clearly it was a clerical error and the receptionist sorted it out quickly. It was a bit off putting at the beginning, but we only spent the one night there so got on with it. There was a wedding on so lots of people, but luckily our room was on the other side, no we had a quiet night.
7.5 Good
Cons: The payment at reception. We had to ask for payment details and never obtained a receipt for the room
7.9 Good
Pros: We only had an overnight stay at the hotel without breakfast as we had been to a wedding evening party at the Hotel. We thought the rooms were extremely clean and tidy. We liked the fact that there were two bars so that if you wanted to sit and chat in a less noisy bar you had the choice.
Cons: I thought it was a bit pricey for a 1 night stopover without breakfast. Other than that we had no complaints, although the bar shut early!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room we had ( 10) was very well decorated . The ensuite was excellent and had been upgraded.
Cons: Public areas, particularly the dining furniture and flooring are poor and need upgrading.

Pros: The staff were very friendly & professional
Cons: Despite the window being open the room smelt very stale

Pros: Good location for me. Spacious rooms if somewhat dated but very clean. Very good value breakfast
Cons: The motel nature of the property means that there are no staff after 9-10pm so late check-in problematic
7.9 Good
Pros: the breakfast was very good and a good choice to choose from. can have any thing you like you just tell them what you want,
Cons: every thing was comfortable for our stay. on our last night we had very loud and not nice people in the room across from us , we did not get to sleep till gone 2.30am in the morning, other people must have heard them as well but were not the kind of people you would knock on the door to, if some one had been on site we would have complained but only an emergency number was given so just had to put up with the noise. the young lady who had the room was up to no good with men, was not nice to hear what was going on. need to have some one on site or a number to call for this problem.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The 9 hole Golf course, spacious rooms and good wifi . Friendly staff.
Cons: There are lots of minor repairs needing fixed. Lightning was too dim.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing really, the girl even managed to burn a Starbucks Americano!!
Cons: The beds were rock hard. The pillows were just lumps of aged synthetic fibre. One lift out of order and the other was so slow it was quicker to walk 3 flights of stairs. Breakfast wasn't great and the chef just moaned he wasn't prepared for all these people and needed a toilet break!!

Pros: great location and facilitues
Cons: Person checking me in did not seem very happy to help. I did not have my bank card so wanted to pay for parking with cash when I left and needed to be checked in manually but the same person had helped me when checking in and checking out and to be honest I really tried to make an effort to show I appreciated her assistance but she just looked like she did not want to be there or to help me.

Pros: The staff were very welcoming and friendly. It was the perfect location for our visit to Yorkshire sculpture park. The rooms were very comfy
Cons: Breakfast was ok but we were not told the time it finished so we nearly missed it. We had the evening meal but felt it was mediocre. A bit expensive for what it was. Not keen on open plan nature of dining area. People checking in could see you eating.

With a stay at Darrington Hotel by Greene King Inns in Pontefract, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Xscape Yorkshire and Mid Yorkshire Golf Club. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Cons: My van was broken into in their car park whilst it was right outside the reception window which was apparently manned all night. If that was the case he would have noticed my van being broken into. On asking if he could check his cameras he said that he wouldn't be able to until the day after we were leaving. When they did eventually check the cameras the quality is that bad they couldn't even make out the registration plate.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent food great value adjoining pub grill Price v good Staff good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Booked this for work for 2 engineers working nearby. When we returned to the same location they asked to stay here again. Breakfast good , staff friendly.
Cons: Have to ring to get an invoice emailed.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly and the breakfast and food on offer was good value for the money.
Cons: The room i was in was very tired and in need of an update. But was good value for a quick nights stay. The mens toilets in the bar also are in need of a makeover.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and always there to help. The room was immaculate and fresh ☺️.
Cons: The kettle could have been clean. Toilet barely flushed and the taps could do with a better clean. And the skirting board was coming off behind the sink.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed, tea and coffee, good value for money. Friendly staff too
Cons: Room was a bit "tired" and the shower area could do with a good lick of paint.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tremendous location ,staff very helpful.
Cons: Time at the bar is only while 11 pm be nice to serve while 12.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Place is very dirty, reception, corridors, staircases in hotel are filthy, don't think they have seen a vacuumed or soapy cloth in months. Linen clean but pillows in very bad condition need replacing urgently, full of bed mite droppings, bathroom acceptable, but again carpets and paintwork filthy. Most disturbing though is the electrics, had no power to sockets in morning although they were working the night before, call reception...no answer....left message...no response, found heater socket held together with insulating tape...very dangerous.
Cons: Condition of hotel, needs closing and refurb urgently
4.6 Okay
Pros: Bar/restaurant staff are really nice and helpful.
Cons: Standard of rooms was poor - very dated, laminate peeling off furniture, mould in bathroom etc. etc. Cleaners were abysmal! Cups were just rinsed and put back on the side upended with coffee drips still on the outside. Rate varies every night - even during the week! Anything from £45 to £65 just room no breakfast. Internet is so intermittent I have had to sit in the restaurant/bar area some evenings just to be able to work. Definitely looking for other accommodation.

Pros: Very cheap accommodation, comfortable and easy.
Cons: Nothing, very happy.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel, despite being on an industrial estate, is very nice as it is tree-lined and the views from the rooms across an open car park are good.
Cons: I know it is a budget hotel and the prices are great...but because room access is external and not from an internal corridoor, people are clearly smoking in the non-smoking rooms and the room we had simply stank....so much in fact that we decided to leave before 9pm after only two hours in the room. If you're a smoker then you'll love it !

Pros: continental bfast not mentioned on website , but excellent

6.3 Good
Pros: It was a good location and quiet staff were helpful and friendly.
Cons: The rooms were a bit run down, towels smelt really fusty and wasn't very big for a bath towel there wasn't even an hand towel.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Price.
Cons: The smell of whole territory, looks of suite, stale air. Paper thin walls, could hear TV from somewhere like it was in my room. Never risked bathtub/shower - did not want to get any diseases. Everything was just worn off... And only ONE power outlet in whole room. Overall looked like something from David Lynch movie.
