10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cute place.. Clean..Friendly staff..
8.8 Excellent
Cons: We were expecting to be close to Sequoia National Park, it is three hours thru the mountains from the national park. Not blaming the Sequoia Lodge, but it is something to consider.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location location location. Very close to everything including the Kern river. This place is spotless. No complaints loved it. Great air conditioning - which we used
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting on the Kern River
Cons: No complaints
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pleasantly surprised that the room was pretty much exactly as shown on line in photos. Very clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. There was a on property stairwell that took you right down to the river which was very nice. It was family quiet (not too loud not too quiet) and everyone was friendly. The location was close to stores, restaurants and there's a general store deli right across the street. We really enjoyed the stay. Parking is a little tight and if you have visiting guests they may have to park on the street but there's is plenty of room. We will come back and stay again.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location Riverside views Comfy beds
Cons: Couldn’t find anything I didn’t like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, cleanliness, and atmosphere were great for a mountain motel!
Cons: All was good!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, close to town and on the river
Cons: The A/C struggles when it's in the 90's.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent on the River - kitchen perfect size and fully stocked with dishes - beds extremely comfortable - immaculate. Beautiful scenery and safe walkway down to Kern River right from motel room door
Cons: There was no breakfast offered despite advertised there was supposed to be... But that was okay. This was an excellent location overall - only negative was the shower was the size of an RV shower - meaning small - perhaps smallest shower in motel I have ever seen. But rest of bathroom was fine - so this was not a huge issue

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Nick, was very welcoming. The room itself was clean, comfortable and had a cosy feel to it. The views from the front door were lovely and there was a lovely ‘rocking bench’ for my son and Into sit on in the evening. The location was perfect for walking into town.
Cons: Nothing. It was lovely
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location.
Cons: Only thing was the shower was a bit too low flow.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good sized room, swimming pool much welcome addition and excellent facilities
Cons: Not geared up for self catering really
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The new owners were nice. There was some confusion with my booking but they worked with us to make it right. Every company will make a mistake at some point, how you respond is what keeps people coming back. Although it wasn't perfect we will do business again with The Kern Lodge thanks to their customer service.
Cons: We needed a room with 2 queen beds and due to communication issues with the online merchants they were oversold on the unit we needed. We made it work with a pull out but the pull out bed could be updated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we had a king size bed. It was very comfortable and all the linens appeared to be in very good condition. They seemed to be fairly new. Woodsy looking cabinlike rooms but modern emenities like wifi, large big screen tv and cable. A small fridge was perfect. A small shower but it worked fine. The host was very helpful and made us feel very comfortable. Very Clean
Cons: We were in the first room next to the road and at 5am it sounded like the gardner was outside. Not sure what it was but went on for about 45 minutes. I don't think the Kern Lodge had anything to do with it?? not sure
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I did n't ask for it, but they gave me a suite with a kitchen! How could I say no.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I would stay here again if I were in the area. Very clean room and bath. Great location
Cons: Breakfast was not included but Cheryl’s Diner was great
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Kern Lodge is a historical place - amazing surroundings, kind and helpful staff, comfortable and clean room, swimming pool. The city itself is very calm - great for the ones who love the nature and silence. It is very close to the supermarket, the city centre, many walk paths, sequoia park - 1 hour away.
Cons: I liked everything. Could be there extra towels for the swimmingpool.

Cons: View was less than expected

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay. The hotel has great snow capped mountain views, serine lake views and Driving in is cool drive. My wife loved the complimentary coffee, teas and hot chocolate. She also raved about the cleanliness of the place. I will stay again for sure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The size of the room was great. Also had a fridge microwave and coffee pot a huge plus!
Cons: Although it was clean, it wreaked of marijuana, I assume that’s why the windows were wide open when we went in room. One lamp on the nightstand was missing a lightbulb and toilet seat was loose. But overall a very nice visit/stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this visit and stay was exceptional. Starting off with the receptionist Donna, She was amazing in every way. Extra pillow requests, I had a legal document printed and she didn't hesitate to print it for me, (After making sure it wasn't anything vulgar, or unacceptable). The Room itself was exactly what I needed. Immaculate, when you walk in you think, Ok, its clean. then you see all the extras. 1. Walk in closet, 2. Microwave, 3. Refrigerator, 4. Coffee maker. Then you open the bathroom door. The bathroom was huge, High shower head which is a plus due to me being 6 foot 1 inches tall. Tiled floors spotless, When we returned to our room the next afternoon after a day of taking care of business, The room looked immaculate again. Everything was fresh and replenished. If you are in the Lake Isabella area and need a place to stay. Don't hesitate!!! I will be back next weekend as well due to business and will be spending another two days at this location!!! Amazing job owners and Staff. Thanks again Donna for making everything stress free on a stressful visit. =)
Cons: N/a
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This location was really nicely located in a rural mountain town.
Cons: The AC was really loud and could use an upgrade. Nothing major though.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm reception, clean cozy room, easy place to stop enroute between Death Valley and Sequoia National Park.
Cons: You can hear people next door, cars coming into the carpark etc - the room has thin walls! Old soft mattress which dips towards the middle so we woke up with sore backs.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable rooms
5.5 Okay
Pros: Broken toilet seat, a loud and roaring aircon/heating system,

7.0 Good
Pros: Comfortable Hotel with a opportunity for barbecue. Conveniently situated for public transport. Comfortable with coffee machine and fridge. Swimming in the river and bat in the sun near the river not far from the hotel.
Cons: Cheep air-conditioning in the rooms. It was to loud to sleeping in the time the AC was working. This type of AC is not up-to-date. The AC needs to much Energie and produced therefore to much CO²! For the brakefast only disposable items! To much rubbish! Unkindly reception personal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: FANTASTIC...lovely property. Owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. So relaxing. Right on The Kern River. Great outdoor deck with BBQ facilities. We were here 4 years ago and loved this area so much we decided to stay here before flying out of LAX which is roughly 3 hours or so drive depending on traffic. Once again we had a lovely stay. Was sad to leave.

6.8 Good
Pros: Excellent location, nicely appointed rooms, comfortable beds.
Cons: The air conditioning units for the rooms are very noisy; and in some cases are inefficient. When we were checking out we informed the receptionist that one of the rooms that we had booked had a unit that just ran and ran but never did cool the room, he said that yes they have a lot of problems with the older AC units. So when you book, be aware that it’s a roll of the dice as to what you will get.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stay in Kernville, a place I would like to visit again.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: My room was clean. The bed was very comfortable, and I’m picky. The inn is in a great location across from the center of town with lots of choices for food and drinks. Perfect! It’s rustic but it has everything I needed. There’s a small fridge, microwave, tv, pool, and air conditioner. I’ll stay here again!
Cons: I had no complaints

10.0 Excellent

Cons: There is nothing to not like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean. Yes its older but I loved it was so clean & staff was super nice!
Cons: I loved everything. Very good location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Despite what I have read, in other reviews, my stay was relaxing and all of the service one would expect from a country style motel was there. The staff was nice and helpful. I have to share with you that I was on a getaway, where my heart was set for fishing, and self focused quality time. I am not a high maintenance person, and when I am out for camping, without the tent and want basic amenities, this place fit the bill perfectly. Room was just perfect for me, staff kept everything stocked, and the only time that I ever saw the staff, was when I was getting ready to barbecue, my fish and a steak, in the community bbq, and family lounge area. I am thinking that I will be able to recommend this facility to all of my favorite people who are heading up here.
Cons: I might have missed it, and maybe it was available for use, but a swimming pool would have been nice to use, after a long day in the sun. On site there is no pool; however, I am not sure if I was able to use the pool at the other motel, which is located just a little ways up the road.
7.6 Good
Pros: The owners were amazingly friendly. They have renovated with an eye on the things that matter. The beds were extremely comfortable and the whole place was impeccably clean. While it's a fairly basic hotel, they have done a great job at focusing on the things that count. The rooms were big, and had good in room facilities. There was plenty of parking. I'd certainly stay here again without hesitation.
Cons: Nothing.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The complaints were nice barbecues a plus
Cons: No Wi-Fi connection t.v didn't get all the channels. Pillows were uncomfortable and the coffee taste like soap
6.3 Good
Pros: Price was reasonable, room was clean, fixtures in good condition. bed an pillows reasonably comfortable, ac/heat worked well and the view from the entry to our room was very good.
Cons: WiFi was extremely slow when it did work. Had to use my mobile hot spot most of the time. Room was on smaller size but that was okay, The bathroom was tiny. Shower had no place to set soap or shampoo so you had to step out to reach the sink where you placed the soap AC/Heat was very noisy Parking was haphazard.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and comfortable and in a great location.
Cons: No complaints.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Directly by the lake. There is a terrace to be used. Room is functional, clean.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room serves its purpose. It was roomy and clean nice courtyard area and a little view. Easy check in process. Centrally locates to Kernville and Lake Isabella.
Cons: The location was deceiving on the map I thought it was going to be right on the lake and we could walk out our room to the water, but that was not the case.

Cons: Remote from other attractions and town. It is a rural suburb setting without tourist amenities within walking distance. (But short drive by car).

7.0 Good
Pros: It is a nice resort for it's age. Tastefully decorated. The Grounds are well kept. Makes it a place of relaxation.
Cons: It is no longer an B&B. They need to make the public more aware of this. I feel they should readjust their rates some, The mattress on the King Bed was uncomfortable. Probably time for an adjustment or replacement.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice location, with view on the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful garden with lots of flowers and trees; cool breeze in the morning - it feels like you are in Switzerland. The best place to stay when you want to visit Hearst Castle, which is about 30 miles to the south.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pool and views
Cons: Price
6.8 Good
Pros: Great location and comfortable bed
Cons: ‘Bed n breakfast’ should actually include breakfast especially for $200 per night. Several broken/not working things in the rooms. Need TLC
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the river and the deer that came by. It had changed a lot since when we ran it.
Cons: The bedding and making sure to have all the towels. It would have been nice to have been made aware of the wi-fi .
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast Listed on Website but stopped serving some 10 months prior.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The tempupedic bed was a real plus. The staff was very nice.
6.8 Good
Pros: Terrific mattress. Beautiful view. Lovely fireplace. And a full kitchenette. Wish we had known that as we would have planned to cook our own breakfast since none was provided. Staff was friendly.
Cons: There was no breakfast even though they call themselves a B&B. TV didn’t work. They gave us a half a roll of TP and then seemed concerned about running out when we asked for another roll. Decor is dated and worn. The carpet is so worn we were stepping on carpet nails. Ouch! Not even the written in-room information has been updated. They still reference a VCR. Not worth $250.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: No coffee maker
