It’s a very charming hotel, like an oasis in the chaos of Stone Town. The rooftop is amazing and I really enjoy the breakfast there(pancakes with local honey are sooo good!). The bath is outside the room but it’s big, super clean and believe me it’s not a problem! The staff is kind and I ask them to organize me the transfer from the airport to the hotel(i was very satisfied,it was night time and the driver stopped the car and walked to the hotel with us)and the Nakupenda tour(it was fantastic too!we were the first to arrive to the island...and this make the difference!!)
Fascinating building, good location, great food for breakfast
A bit noisy at night in the room looking at the street
Very comfortable beds, lovely roof terrace, quality food and drink served, excellent and warm staff, pleasant hustle and bustle of ground floor cafe.
The twin room we were given was really disappointing in terms of size and decor/finishing. Felt the website photos did not represent fairly what we stayed in. Not very characterful or well done given the amount of money paid.
This wonderful, charming, little guesthouse in the middle of Stone Town is definitely worth a stay. A lovely interior, great coffee and a delicious breakfast promises a relaxing night and refreshing start in the day! Stepping out of the doors, you find yourself in the middle of the narrow streets of Stone Town and the Night Market as well as delightful restaurant are just some minutes by foot. Great stay, big thanks to the Zanzibar Coffee House Staff!
1. Staff very kind 2. The building is indeed historical. You do feel you are living a piece of history
1. Noise. There was just so much noise it was difficult to sleep. First you are awaken by the mosque at 5am. Then you had a rooster greeting the day at 6am. Don’t stay here if you plan sleeping. 2. Water pressure in the bathrooms was very insufficient. 3. Location was ok, but if you are a single female you will likely not feel comfortable walking alone at night.
