HHI Airport rental car nightmare.Cons:Huge line. Booked few hours earlier but they had no record of my booking. Had to wait for clerk to call her manager, leave a voice mail, then wait for him to call back in order to get a car. Didn't get the car I wanted. Didn't get a receipt, temporary registration, or any documentation from Alamo or Kayak. Initially told car had a full tank but was only half full. The clerk also told me the insurance I bought through Allianz didn't cover damage to the car despite that being incorrect, then she charged be for Alamo insurance without my consent which I had to call to get a charge back a few days later to correct. TerribleCons:I made a reservation and specifically asked there was a car available on the phone while speaking to a person, not the computer, but when I arrived to pick my car up there was not a car there!!! When I questioned the attendant, he said there was nothing he could do for me. Consequently, I ended up spending over $100.00 more than I should have because another rental (Hertz) said they only had a van. I believe this should be Alamo'so responsibility. I also believe the attendant could have been much more helpful! He at least could have checked with all the other rental companies to see if there was a cheaper option. Pros:When I turned the car in early they took money off my total. Also had to wait an hour to pick up my car due to the tropical storm the day before causing no car availability, & they lowered the price on that also, & I didn't have to ask for that, they automatically took it off.Reviewed 15 Jun. 2016

Pros:The staff was friendly and very efficient. So often I dread a long line and then getting hasled by the agent. My previous car rental experience, the agent was deceptive having me sign for insurance that I did not nee even though I told him I did not want it. The Alamo agent was not pushy nor deceptive. I was in and out in minutes. The return was easy. Thank you very much Alamo!Cons:Nothing. Great service and a great car. Very pleasedReviewed 27 Jan. 2020

Worst rental everPros:It didn't break downCons:When I got into the car, the indicator light showed that a) there was insufficient windshield wiper fluid and b) the tire pressure of 2 of the tires was dramatically low. We took it to the nearby location to get those two items fixed. Later, we discovered 2 other defects: 1. The inside of the windshield had a layer of dirt on it only where the driver's side is. You couldn't notice this until there was glare when the sun started to set. It was a hazard. 2. Worse, the initial pungent smell of excessive car freshener gave way, eventually, to a lingering smell of cigars. My kids, relatives, and I found this really abhorrent. Unlike the prior 3 defects, there was nothing we could do. I wanted to tell Alamo upon returning the car, but the office was closed since our departing flight left at 5:35am.Reviewed 18 Jun. 2017

Pros:It was easy to pick up and drop off. We had a brand new vehicle to drive.Cons:When we dropped it off, there wasn’t any one there. So just dropped keys into return. I don’t mind it as long as there aren’t any issues.Reviewed 30 Sep. 2019
