Pros: Lovely breakfast and beautiful restaurant. The location was lovely and rural, staff were welcoming and helpful and room was immaculate. Only stayed for one night but would have been happy to stay longer.
Cons: The only thing that i would say is that the drinks were quite pricey but for the quality of the location is to be expected. Also the bed was quite firm so didn't personally have an amazing sleep, though parter did. Otherwise perfect experience in every other way.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the whole setup and location
5.5 Okay
Pros: Shower was excellent -
Cons: Room needed a lot of attention - ie -loose fitting electric sockets, leaking roof with awful water stain down the wall - dust so thick you could write your name it it - broken light fittings in bathroom - ill fitting bed side table with one leg cut off shorter than the other to make it fit it space ( very wobbly) no window latch to keep window open in bathroom (room 6)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was nice, quite large with a separate bathroom, bed was comfy with lots of tea coffee water biscuits etc, plenty of clean towels and toiletries, I would defo stay again. In good proximity to Stratford, just a few minutes in the car. Staff were very nice and friendly.
Cons: Was nothing I didn't like, the TV could have been a bit bigger if I was going to be picky.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice welcoming pub. Food was good in the evening. Room was in the main lovely, very well presented and clean.
Cons: The room was freezing cold and had no heating ( it had broken). The bathroom was upstairs from the main room up a spiral staircase which wasn't ideal either. Bath had no shower. To be fair the Manager did give me a discount because of the heating issue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was a beautifully appointed large room with large double (queen) sized bed downstairs and an upstairs section containing two single beds and a bathroom.
Cons: Not sure what the other rooms in the property are like however, the bathroom was large and well appointed had a lovely claw foot tub and hand-held shower. The one draw back was that bath was tucked under the sloping side of ceiling so you couldn’t stand and wash yourself, you either had to have a bath (not practical with 3 adults needing a morning wash) or sit/kneel in the bath to have a hand-held shower and it was very awkward. It would be worthwhile checking with the property what the bathing facilities are in your room if you have mobility or physical limitations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice country pub feel to it, comfortable and stylish room. Evening meal arrived quickly on ordering and was perfectly cooked and presented for all three courses. Full English breakfast included was perfect on the morning. Nice selection of drinks at bar and fruit ciders too. Very friendly, helpful staff. Made a lovely short break for us. Visited Butterfly farm and Warwick Castle which were both with 10 miles drive of property.
Cons: Very noisy scrapping furniture, doors slamming and people talking coming through from bar area into our room in evening (room 6)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice large room which was very comfortable & very clean. Plenty of tea, coffee & biscuits etc. The food was excellent & a good portion too. We will definitely return.
Cons: Cannot think of anything

5.0 Okay
Pros: The food, staff and communal areas were fantastic. The wifi was also a brilliant speed.
Cons: For a 4* hotel, the room and bathroom were very basic. Also if you want a nice relaxing sleep you won't get it, the walls were very thin... we could hear the conversations of our neighbours either side and it was like elephants were dancing in the room above. We were also woken up by a group of girls walking past the room at 4.30am... Neither of us slept too well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everthing
Cons: Breakfast not early enough
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff are always friendly and helpful
Cons: The rooms are a little tired, especially the bathrooms. We do stay on a regular basis as it is convenient for us, and the rooms are perfectly good for a few nights, but could do with some renovation. The entrance road is in need of some resurfacing

Pros: Really liked the spa
Cons: Room was tired looking. Walls stained with water damage and needed a good paint. No lamp on one side of bed...too dull to read under.value
6.3 Good
Pros: Arrived for my sons birthday, his first hotel stay all excited, lovely welcome at reception then given keys to our room, I gave them to Thomas he opened the door and in we went. The floor was filthy the main bed still had dirty sheets with hairs and sweets ?? In it the bathroom was not great the towel looked like it had been used. Called manager she was lovely and very sorry for the room, she believed it had been used and not cleaned I have waited before writing this as long as I can but she moved us to a lovely room and the stay was good, as an apology I was offered £20 this I said is fine I really just wanted a clean room however I thought I might as well accept it. This is were my frustration really lies as I still haven’t received this promised £20 I have called the hotel spoken to another manager but days later still? No sign of it so it leaves me to simply write the truth. What a shame as I said the staff did there best but I’m left feeling that the offer of a small refund was not really heartfelt and the room in my wife’s words was disgusting!!
Cons: All said above
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location - great for Cotswolds, Warwick and Stratford Upon Avon. Set in wonderful parkland grounds Staff very nice/helpful Public areas very nice
Cons: Spar and bedroom was tired. In particular Spar changing room where cracked tiles, rotten wood on lower half of door frame. Food average

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dinner and breakfast were first class.
Cons: A very warm and friendly hotel, with cheerful, professional and accommodating staff.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Spa facilities and grounds.
Cons: Went to stay at the begining of March for some time away from home and rest. Booked a executive room but as my partner and I went out and used the spa facilities we hadn't moved or went to bed until after midnight. Despite this being a executive room we where given two single beds joined together so my partner and I kept rolling into each other. I was started the get back pain and neither he nor I could sleep. We spoke to the reception who offered us a change of room however it was now 3am and we where only staying for one night. By the time we would've moved room and unpacked again who knows what time it would have been in addition to my partner having a important meeting the next day. We spoke to the receptionist and he did say that he will ensure that we get a full refund so we left happy with the response to be advised the next day that we will not be given a refund but we would be given a small portion of the fee and a free return to the hotel that caused me severe back pain and my partner to delay his meeting due to exhaustion. After numerous back and forth the manager agreed to provide a full refund. This was in may and there is enough going on with the current crisis and I'm exhausted to be chasing this company around for a refund. All in all the worst service I have ever received. I have actually stayed at this hotels 4 times before this was my favourite hotel but now I would never go back and no on the basis of being lied too(poor customer service) and the amount of pain and suffering and exhaustion caused from the end in the "executive room" I will never go back and wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend. And just to reassure you all reading this that my partner and I are not simply after money we found a very expensive designer women's watch in the dresser and handed this into reception immediately before the man in the reception even stated that we would be refunded in full.

Pros: Lovely room, big bed. Stunning setting (my room overlooked the topiary garden). Amazing breakfast in the morning. Really friendly helpful staff.
7.0 Good
Pros: The restaurant staff were very friendly
Cons: The layout of the building felt quite strange, there were lots of rooms e.g bar/ restaurant/ drawing room but all quite small. We were with a big group of family and we couldn’t always be together.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Really peaceful and the building itself was stunning with a lovely garden to walk around. We played tennis on the courts and had a swim, sauna and steam in the spa, all at no extra charge. We chilled in our room until a really loud noise (sounded like pipes clunking) kept annoying us, so the really helpful reception staff moved our room for us without any hassle. Will definately return.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room 14 ... great
Cons: Food a bit on the expensive side . We stayed 3 nights and had 1 breakfast ( not worth £14.00 ) and 1 evening meal ( not the best we hav had ) . We eat out on other nights

7.0 Good
Pros: Hotel positioning- very central to town and amenities Hotel Period- beautiful building Room- lovely front view
Cons: Staff on departure - rude and abrupt Car park situation as asked to leave before 12 noon after night stopping when I didn't arrive until 2.30pm previous day and paid £15 for 24 hours???? Also given a pass for car p ark near by to use but was not acceptable in car park unless over 6 hours- therefore car park cost another £4 on top of the £15 already paid
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The quaintness of this old hotel complimented well the ancient city of Strafford-upon-Avon. It is in a superb position and the quality of the service was excellent. Particularly grateful to Maria and Team Mercure for not only finding and returning my lost kit but also ensuring it was cleaned before being returned. Service well beyond expectation, thank-you. We will try and get back soon.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location (very central), friendly and helpful staff, character. WiFi was very accessable
Cons: Room was a bit worn. No mention was made before arrival (eg at time of booking) of £10 per night charge for use of the carpark.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: My partner is a key worker and he's been working all over the country during this pandemic. He was working near Stratford on Saturday 16th may and was so tired when he finished that I decided to drive over to him and get us a room for the night so he could relax. We was met by staff that was very confused we was there and told us we hadn't paid for our booking (which we had) demand to see his key worker letter and then finally gave us the key. Room was very basic with only 1 cup and 1 glass and only 1 set of towels! Wardrobe looked like it hadn't been dusted for over a year and the headboard had head stains on which proved how old it was. The following morning we had a staff member knock on the door saying we had to leave (we was not told a time to check out when we checked in and since there didn't seem to be anyone else in the hotel we thought this was rather unnecessary) he was very rude and asked if we was working and demanded to see our letter yet again!!!!! My partner stays in hotels all over the country and has never experienced such rudeness and unprofessionalism. All in all it was a very poor stay!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, lovely staff, very comfortable and a great location for all that Stratford-upon-Avon has to offer.
Cons: No reply to email prior to arrival. Large amounts of dust throughout the room and ensuite. States that there is bottled water in the room, there wasn't. Also the minibar was empty. As we only stayed for 1 night it wasn't worth complaining... not that we could have as when we went to the restaurant for our dinner the reception was unattended.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location tho' I do think their car parking charges are too high, I parked on the road and transferred to a free park area before breakfast. The room though a tad shabby was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the staff welcoming. Yes I will stay here again.
Cons: car parking charges

Pros: We love this quaint hotel right in the heart of town. It's only a few blocks from the theatres and all the Shakespeare sites. It's charming and warm. Plenty of cozy areas to sit on the ground floor. Our room was very comfortable.
Cons: The only downside was that the shower didn't work very well.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Cute door to your room. Quaint place to stay and a great location. You can get good overnight parking in the car park down the road church street (£10 per 24hours)
Cons: Walls were a little thin but expected in an old building like this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds are luxurious, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. The room set up was very relaxing. For the price of breakfast so filling.

Pros: Second time staying at this hotel (last time was about five years ago) and the Hotel is still just as good. The restaurant menu has changed, it's more gastro pub now rather than fine dining which was a little disappointing but the hotel is still lovely and clean, the staff helpful and courteous, the rooms spacious and the bathroom facilities good. I really like the decor in the hotel as well, relaxing and tasteful and in keeping with the surrounding area. The basics: Good choice of TV channels and a very good sized TV. Good bathrooms with a decent sized bath and reasonable shower. Centrally located and close to all the things you want to be close to. Good range of choice for breakfast and something to suit everybody. Medium Firm/Mattress and two pillows offered per person. Although in the center of town the rooms are nice and quiet.
Cons: Personally I like a soft mattress so I did not sleep quite as well as I could have but that was the only I had poor sleep, if there was an option of a mattress topper for those of us that require a bit more padding then in my opinion this hotel would be pretty much perfect. The only other thing that could improve it would be if they could work out a deal with the car park directly behind the hotel so that staying guest got a bit of a price reduction on the parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was a lovely size. Really warm very comfortable clean- not spotless. The bathroom was exceptional. Loads of hot water for a big deep bath. Corona virus spoilt the vibe of the whole time away but it was a lovely place. Loads of places to visit- none open for us. Loads of places to eat nearby again not many open. River walk lovely. Looks a thriving little town with some interesting shops.
Cons: The lampshade was very dusty and full of cobwebs but that is the only negative about the hotel. Staff were nice and friendly. Although was busy they were not in your face. I will go back again. £120 for one night is a lot but overall I would say it was good value for money.
1.0 Poor
Cons: We requested a refund due to the Coronavirus and were refused. Due to our constant travel changes due to international traveling restrictions, we decided to make this our last night, since they wouldn’t refund us. The whole town was shut down. All the stores were closed. Why wouldn’t they just refund us, or at least give us a voucher for next year. We normally stay at the Mercure hotel. ( Much nicer, by the way ) It was a mistake to try some where new. We will not support The White Swan in the future.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were amazing in both the newer part of the hotel (first night) & the older part of the hotel (second night) - although on a Saturday night there is live music below the historic rooms so be prepared. The walking tour was worth going on as the location was right in the centre of town. Great staff.
Cons: Breakfast was disappointing both days re the buffet - never seemed to get restocked - although the cooked breakfast was good.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very characterful and within walking distance of everything.
Cons: You had to pay for parking but the car park was near by.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast and beautiful restaurant. The location was lovely and rural, staff were welcoming and helpful and room was immaculate. Only stayed for one night but would have been happy to stay longer.
Cons: The only thing that i would say is that the drinks were quite pricey but for the quality of the location is to be expected. Also the bed was quite firm so didn't personally have an amazing sleep, though parter did. Otherwise perfect experience in every other way.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely everything, lovely self catering appartment with everything we needed for a couple of days break, location is lovely we really felt like we were away from it all
Cons: Stairs were a little creaky so worried about disturbing neighbour's
7.0 Good
Pros: Cozy room. Value for money.
Cons: Single room quite small. with a little extra cost, double room has space. Wish there was a fridge. Noise of toilet flush is startling.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Homely feel and friendly staff (and locals).
Cons: My room (number 1) was above an extractor fan so the room had a constant low level hum which did become annoying. But it wouldn't stop me recommend this hotel to others
