Pros: The property was stunning! Felt like you were truly back in the time period when royalty lived at Le Manoir Saint Thomas. Alain, the manager, was exceptional! The breakfasts were so delicious we chose to eat there each morning! Easy to find, parking was inside the property grounds, beds were comfortable, bathrooms modern. Overall, a wonderful experience. We would definitely go back!

Cons: Two points, 1. I thought the conversion to put the bathroom and toilet in the original (old) room area was done poorly. The tile floors were elevated and not fitted, and the walls were thin and cheap plasterboard. So that felt cheap. 2. We looked out over a lovely lawn/courtyard, but the lights outside were all all night, and meant it was very difficult to sleep.

The breakfast room was beautiful. The full breakfast was fantastic. The service was impeccable. The sleeping rooms were small but very comfortable. Linens were comfy. The innkeeper was friendly and and very helpful. We felt pampered while during our stay.

The salon and breakfast area are elegantly decorated and the owner is amicable and charming, and very helpful in every aspect of your stay! The cottage room I stayed in was cozy and inviting, yet also furnished with elegant antique furniture that gave it an extra charm. Very comfortable bed. Bathtub great for a soak after a long day of walking and visiting chateaus, with lovely scented soaps and lotions to give it that 'pampering' touch. Tables outside in garden for a picnic, if needed. There is a main manor house, renovated stables and a number of luxe cabins set on this spacious and well landscaped property. The owner was very kind and checked us in early. There is ample parking and the gate is closed at night. Travelling by motorbike, I really appreciate this sort of secure parking. We were staying in the stables that are on a "Gite" plan. The breakfast basket that was offered was enough food for two meals and the baguette and pastries were the best on the our trip. Our room was very comfortable and we slept well there as it is so quiet and peaceful. The kitchen in the room was well equipped and I enjoyed the coffee machine. Staff are lovely. Highly recommended.

Cons: Checkin not till 6pm. We were unaware of this and arrived at 4pm after a long and tiring motorbike ride. The hotel was locked and dark. We managed to attract the attention of a waiter in the restaurant who was very unhelpful. Wouldn’t even allow us to leave our bags so we could go for a walk. We checked later and saw that this was on the booking confirmation, but this should be made clear on the hotel description.

Cons: Unusual smell in room- disappeared with some fresh air. No eating allowed in rooms. Made it difficult for children to snack when needed.

Cons: The window in the children’s room overlooked horrible green mouldy walls with no view and there was a terrible smell of drains in their room coming up from the shower which overflowed ; certainly a plumbing problem.
