Budget closed out the bill 30 hours after we dropped off, resulting in several hundred dollars of extra charges. I had to call for an adjustment but have to wait 5-7 business days for a case manager to review the case, even though it was clearly a mistake on the part of Budget.

Everything was fine except for the condition of the car. The car was given to me filthy with sand in the front and back seats. I expect when I rent a car, that it’s cleaned prior to being rented out. Otherwise, everything else was good. Thank you.

Despite having no cars available/clean/ready to rent, Budget continued to take reservations for new car rentals. The guy at the counter said it would be "at least 30 minutes" til a car was ready but could offer no more details. I asked how many people were ahead of me and he said 15! There were many people there who had waited much longer than 30 minutes. I finally got a call about a car 2+ hours later. By then I had already given up and taken a taxi to my hotel, and a taxi to dinner. The rental ended up costing me $50 more than it should have due to the costs of the taxis and a lot of unnecessary hassles. I will not rent from Budget again.

The guys did not have the car ready even when the flight was delayed 30’ . They said 15-20 minutes but I did not have that time as I had to make an important business meeting. I said I need any car now I don’t care if it’s smaller or bigger , they offered me a bigger car but said I have to pay !! Ridiculous so I had no choice but to paid for an upgrade when they had no car ready at the time of my reservation which was 1:30pm or even 1:50pm. Bad bad experience

Upon reading Google reviews of the Avis in my area I canceled my reservation and called Enterprise directly. They were a little more expensive but they had the car ready and there was no nonsense. I will know in the future book direct from them and not risk not having a vehicle ready and waiting hours arguing with employees who shouldn’t be employed but can’t be fired because there is no one to replace them who wants to take a job with horrible pay

It was easy to reserve online. The staff were friendly and helpful at the counter. The car was clean and comfortable and had great gas mileage. I thought the $500 deposit for using a debit card was excessive, but it was refunded when I turned the car back in. It was easy to extend the rental by calling. The main issue I had wasn't due to Dollar car rental. The company is located in the Asheville airport and it was confusing trying to find the counter. There was no parking available because traffic has to keep moving in front of the airport, so when I got dropped off to pick up the car my friend had to keep circling around until I let him know that I had secured a rental. It's a good walk from the counter to the parking deck where the rentals are located. The day before I returned the car, I had to go to the rental counter to show them my temporary license since the license I originally gave them expired in the middle of the rental. There was nowhere to park and when I tried to park in the parking deck so I could run over and give them my license, the parking deck attendant asked a lot of questions and seemed confused about what I was doing. I had to keep explaining until he understood so he would allow me to park there temporarily. This could have been avoided if there was a better parking situation, or if they had allowed me to email or text a copy of my temporary license.

I rented a manager special for $179. That wasn’t exactly cheap for three days. The manager special came and it was a minivan for me one person. The car was absolutely filthy on the outside. I had to have it washed and clean before I could attend my Luncheon in Asheville. No one was there to assist in finding the car at the Asheville airport. What a mess it is there! You go from one end of the car rental trailer outdoors to the other to get the rental and then finding the car , do t arrive in the dark. no one is there to assist you.. You just aimlessly wonder around the parking lot asking other customers how they found their car. If you don’t Purchase all of the extras, the people at the counter aren’t very nice. You feel shuttled in and shuttled out like cattle. I was asked to sign a paper that there was no outside damage or blemishes to the car without even seeing the car/Minivan. I would never rent from Thrifty again.

The car was not cleaned when we picked it up. The back seat was full of dog hair and there was mud on the floor. We did not realize it until we had passengers sit in the back seat several days later. We had to figure out that you have to call the Ace customer service number to get a shuttle from the airport, only for us to be shuttled to a hotel where the Ace counter is inside, where we waited for 30 minutes at 10pm at night for no one to show up. We called repeatedly and no one answered. We called the customer service number for Ace and they could not reach anyone. We ended up being stranded at the hotel we were dropped off at and had to get a hotel overnight even though we were supposed to be driving out of town. The Ace owner called me and woke me up at 12:40am. I did not answer. The next morning we had to pay for an Uber across town to rent a car from enterprise. They did not have any available but gave us one anyway. The Ace owner, Steve, continued to text me over and over to apologize and try to make up for it but it was too little too late. It had already cost us a night in a hotel and missing seeing friends who had to leave Saturday morning. In addition to all of this, the Ace helpdesk was left completely unmanned with the lockbox for the car keys hanging wide open as well as the computer screen unlocked with customer information available to anyone who walked by. We spoke to a hotel employee who said they had never seen an Ace employee at that desk during any of their shifts, but had seen people come to get a car and have to get walked through, over the phone, how to check themselves out on the unlocked computer.
