I had nothing but electrical problems with vehicle. Sixt asked me to take car to mechanics. Key Fob would not work and we were locked out of our car and had to take a taxi home. Next day road side assistance could not get into the car because doors were locked so locksmith had to be called and I had to pay for taxi and locksmith. Called sixt many many times in 3 days, was told would be getting a significant refund and they only paid for 3 days rental. Worst experience ever. Customer Service was the worst, made promises they didn’t keep and we even upgraded to a bigger vehicle and paid in total $3500 Canadian dollars for 6 weeks and had nothing but issues. I would rate them a negative 20.

Alamo, National and Enterprise (all owned by the same parent company) are the farthest walk from the terminal in Athens. Reserved a sedan so that we would have a trunk for our luggage. Tried to offer me a Jeep which doesn't have a trunk and wouldn't work as my wife had broken her ankle 2 days before and couldn't have gotten up into it. Car had multiple areas of scrapes and dents, which isn't unusual for Greece but the interior was fine and it ran well. Was not happy that they gave me a car with a half tank of gas which makes it difficult to know how much to add to get it back to a half tank when you're not used to filling it and you can't do self-serve in Greece. Staff was fine to deal with though took a long time with the one customer in front of me in line.

One small sign in the airport for where to pay for rentals. Walked over after going outside and seeing the sign outside. POOR signage at best. After walking back to the airport as there are NO SHUTTLES, we had to ask, finally found a very small and badly placed sign on where to go pay.

Pleased with Avance car rental experience. Pick up and drop off at Athens airport was straightforward. We received a low mileage Renault Cleo which performed well. Big enough to haul 3 adults and carry ons, yet small enough to navigate the roads and parking in Greece. Prices this year in Greece seem high everywhere, yet felt we received fair value from the pricing we received from Kayak/Avance. Would use them again.

The pick up at Athens airport was long and frustrating. There were people shopping for cars like a menu at a restaurant while client like us had already finished and paid online and just waiting for the key. There should be a separate line for those that had their reservation confirmed and paid. Drop off was easy. Plus the agent tried to sell us an upgrade version once he knew where we are staying. He could have been more discrete and less obvious in his approach!

Kayak wrote in the standardized response that an e-mail would come from Europcar as confirmation, but that did not occur. The processor used by Kayak (not Europcar) wrote in a standardized response that the rental was confirmed. The Europcar website was not available several times when it was checked. At arrival, Europcar had the confirmation number Kayak/Kayak's processor had provided and the rental experience was excellent.

Office and car lot are far from airport (~15 min shuttle ride along some single lane dirt roads) and not easily accessible to return car. No one answers at the customer service phone number, just disconnects after holding for a few mins. Car pickup was OK, but return was confusing as attendants are uncommunicative. Shuttle service to/from airport is once every ~10-15 min but can only accommodate 8 passengers at a time, so forced to wait for 2nd shuttle run on returning to the airport. Recommend choosing another company with car pickup/drop-off lot at airport terminal and responsive personnel.

Check in was difficult as I rented the car with a discover card but they only take your (not your spouse or anyone else’s) Visa or Mastercard for incidentals which almost caused us to not be able to rent. Drop off was easy. The car itself needed an oil change and windshield fluid as soon as we got in it.

Pick up is not from airport but there’s a shuttle which takes 10 minutes away from the airport. A guy with a sign is not really looking for you after landing. Also, the all inclusive damages insurance is expensive. No service on the greek islands but the company does not object to taking the car on a ferry. Overall nice people, good car, a clunky service which would benefit from more transparency in terms and conditions.

First the pickup location was 15 min away from the airport which was not clear when making the reservation. It was also not made clear that the shuttle would be dependent on our pickup time so we sat at the shuttle pickup for an hour before calling Green Motion and then waited another 30 min for the shuttle and then took almost 20 min to reach their location. We ended up being switched to an earlier flight so we were an hour an a half early for our 7pm pickup. They were willing to move the pickup up an hour but made us sit there and wait 17 min literally watching the clock in order to pickup the car that was sitting right outside. They said if we wanted it early we would have to pay an additional amount that was 2.5x what we had already paid even though our rental was only for 19 hours to begin with they wanted to charge us for 2 additional days, for 17 min. The man who checked us in was pretty unfriendly and uncommunicative. They were nicer when we returned the car and the shuttle drivers were nice but this also ate up an extra hour of our day because of the distance from the airport. All in all we spent an extra 3.5-4 hours to save $20 vs picking a car up from a company at or closer to the airport. If we knew that we never would have chosen this company.

Had to take a taxi to the remote location (25 euros) where we found customer service agents shouting at customers. Opted to NOT follow through with renting from them after taking with another distressed customer in-person. Filmed a bit of what was happening and then my partner and I walk to the nearest (sketchy) bus stop. Soon after the manger (I can only assume because he wasn't wearing any official outfit) confronted us and threaten to call the cops because "filming us is illegal." Being in a foreign country and having this happening is extraordinarily stressful and incredibly unprofessional. So much so that just writing this and remembering what happened is stressing me out because it was legitimately traumatizing. I recorded this interaction on my phone in its entirety and will be posting it to warn others. We felt SO unsafe that we quickly ran across the 4-lane highway and flagged down a another taxi (30 additional euros) to get back to the airport... where we were worried for our lives because we didn't know if Green Motion's Manager was going to call a hit on us or bribe local police or something. Kayak customer service, if you're reading this, please contact me for additional details as this business shouldn't even be on your website.

We never received the car! The staff dint make any arrangements for an alternate option too. We were stranded at the pickup location. The reason mentioned by the staff was that since you dint mention your flight number (which was an optional field during booking) and you booked for less than 24 hours ( we booked for about 10 hours) we dint take your booking "seriously". We ultimately had to scramble and get car from another rental company and lost half of our day in addition to all the hassle of dealing!

WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. Lady was rude, address listed did not even come up in google I had to walk 2 km on side of the road. Lady canceled my reservation because I did not have my passport with me even though I had credit card, id, international driver's license. I told her I will be back with the passport in few hours she canceled then stopped picking up the phone. Horrible experience. I ended up getting a different rental 2x the cost. I still have not gotten a refund for this one
