Parking is $20, this was not on the listing when I paid for room. My room was next to elevators, bottle water was in the room w/ a hidden fee of $3.50/bottle, the light in bathroom worked only some of the time, and the following morning when I went to my vehicle to leave, there were beer bottles around my truck and urine stains on the concrete, also, next to my truck. My overall experience was terrible, I would never consider staying here again.
Centrally located
It was near the Capitol and many good restaurants. We especially enjoyed Maria at the coffee/snack counter who had our coffee poured when we appeared in the morning. She was delightful. The staff was exceptionally accommodating. Overall, it was a good stay. Easy parking for vehicles but there is a daily charge, less if you self-park.
We were there five nights; two of those nights the room was not cleaned. The first time, we mentioned it. When it happened again the second night we were pretty vocal about our frustration and dissatisfaction. The room did get cleaned the following day but it was our last night there. At checkout they did offer a discount and apologized.
Decent room, close to the activities on 6th st
Kept up the last night by roudy people in nearby rooms.
Construction zone for five star prices
The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect. The staff were very accomodating. The rooms were wonderfully spacious and clean so absolutely no complaints there.
I would probably never again stay at a hotel under construction for the amount of money I paid. I had no idea the extent of the construction before and while booking. It had elevators non functioning and we had to use service elevators at one point it was just odd. I could have stayed at a five star for the price I paid minus the construction.
Hotel was very comfortable. It is within walking distance to major attractions in Austin. Yet the price was very competitive. I have enjoyed the stay despite some critique of construction going on. It didn't bother me a bit. Strongly recommended.
Under construction
Staff was excellent, room was clean, bed was comfortable, wi-fi was strong.
Would have liked to have a mini-fridge in room. Hotel was overrun by high school children. They were loud, and made simple things like using the elevators/ice machine miserable. I fully understand that this was not the Hotel's fault.
Not a 4 star hotel
room size and bed
I didn't like paying an additional $23 to park at the hotel. No mini fridge and no microwaves in the rooms. I did not like paying $3.50 for bottled water in the room. No exhaust fan in the bath room. Very hard water.
Great Staff, but Uncomfortable Bedding.
The staff were very quick to help with anything we needed. After searching the vending machines on our floor and those above and below us for bottled water, we called down to the front desk to ask where we could find some to purchase, and they immediately had four bottles sent up at no charge, which arrived quicker than I'd have thought the elevators would allow.
The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. I have back problems, and the bed, though a pillowtop, had springs that were easily felt through the mattress top. The pillows were fine down, but far too soft to provide any support--though I'll be the first to admit, I'm picky about my pillows.
The butt sniffers at the front desk wouldn't allow me to check in since I am only 20 and 10 months (not 21), even though it was prepaid and they had my card on file. I had to get a friend to come cosign the room with me to be able to claim it... Total ridiculousness and they could have been more accommodating.
Terribly loud street music till midnight. Very thin walls.
Loved the room and how clean it is. The breakfast buffet was great. Parking could be a little cheaper...but overall it's a great hotel .
Vents in the bathroom would be nice. But everything was really great.
