FraudCons:German Avis refused to accept the insurance coverage I purchased through Kayak, claimed it was illegal for Kayak to sell it to me in the first place, wanted to charge me $1500 for an extra insurance which I refused because it's outrageous to pay that much for insurance and then Avis charged my credit card close to $10.000,- for damages that I have no way of proving them wrong for AA I'm back in the states now. avis is a fraud operation!!! The US insurance you sold me claims I have to pay everything, they might reimburse me partially if they think it's correct. I'll never use Kayak again. Muppe Glick 310-570-7757Reviewed 24 Jul. 2016

Rip offPros:Quality and cleanliness of vehicleCons:Staff at hamburg airport are pirates. Late at night collection my company had prepaid the hire and all the extras for insurance and sat nav etc. The staff took it upon themselves to add lots of extras and upgrade the car without telling me and made me sign everyhting in German. Returned the car two days later to find the bill was 3 times that agreed. My company said they do this all the time to people. Will never use Avis again.Reviewed 17 Oct. 2017

HamburgPros:Car (Skoda) seemed to be an upgrade from VW Golf; car was roomy & fairly fuel-efficient.Cons:I arrived at the airport at 0800; AVIS did not open until 0900. Cons:I had to stand in line for 80 minutes and then it took another 20 minutes to sign all the paperwork. I was charged a one way fee that wasn't in my confirmation, everything had to be reprinted, what a mess... As a result I was promised an upgrade with a built in navigation system. When i finally got my car there was no built in navigation system. At that point I had spent over two hours to get my car and left.Reviewed 17 Aug. 2016
