Car, SUV, was fine and addressed our needs. We were disappointed in the lack of flexibility at customer service. We asked for a 3-4 hour extension to drop off so we didn't have to drive all day and into the night. They said any extension is charged at a full 24 hour rate even 5 minutes. Representative said he had no discretion on charge. We ended up just making drop off deadline but didn't have time to stop for gas. They charged $9.90 per gallon! Outrageous! I live in Tennessee and pay between $2.50 and $3.00 per gallon. If all rental companies do this, I will never rent for pleasure. I often rent in Europe and they are much more flexible in their rules and policies. I am an Avis Preferred member, but I did not feel preferred at Avis.Reviewed 10 Dec 2024

We picked up our car in Amman. The wrong address for Avis is given on all the paperwork. The location moved a while ago. Thankfully we found a taxi driver at the old location who helped us figure this out. Once at the Avis location, we found the guy to be very helpful and kind. We dropped the car off at the international airport in Amman. There is zero instruction for what to do. We finally found a guy from another car rental agency and he helped us figure out where to park. Instructions would have been nice (you park and go inside to their counter to checkout). Otherwise, the people we dealt with were great, the car did its job, and we were satisfied. We scheduled our car to be picked up at the Cape Town airport in South Africa, and everything was confirmed correctly. When we arrived (after traveling 26 hours straight) we were told that the van was at the Avis location in Turkey. There was literally no explanation. It was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful, the car exceeded my expectations, and the pick-up/drop-off was a breeze. Maybe the only thing that could be improved a little is the drop off instructions: not knowing Las Vegas well, it was a bit difficult to find the correct road and parking garage to return the car.Reviewed 8 Dec 2024

My husband had made the car reservation for me. He asked for pick up and drop off at Knoxville airport. After I waited in line for about an hour, I was told I had to go to the Avis location in town. After a $25.00 Uber ride, I got an upgrade that I didn't want. My husband ordered a compact car, but presumable it was not available.
