Cons: Front desk help was not accommodating to families and inconsistent in their policies. They were inflexible to our group even though we realized we were incorrect in the amount of people we notified. They were inflexible to booking.com bookings. It could have been just the front desk people we encountered, but half of our party sought other accommodation for the night and we were disappointed. The next morning we encountered a bright and cheery front desk person, so we were encouraged. Our other 5 star stays were far superior if one was to consider 5 star service.

Cons: On floor 5, the doors can still be opened from the outside when you are in the room. There is no way of locking the door from the inside!!!! Twice, people walked into my room - once at night (I didn't dream this - I wasn't asleep). This is a serious issue for health and safety, especially for single female guests!

Cons: Decoration of the room and facilities are really outdated. They look like a hotel in the 70s. Bathroom's layout is really incovenient as it has no door to separate it from the room.The hotel should renovate the rooms. In general, the hotel looks nice but the rooms do not look as nice as the hotel common areas. For a hotel with such prices, they must invest in its renovation.

Cons: Other service such as accepting parcel delivery was messed up and I ended up not getting a stroller replacement seat. As I’m traveling to other destinations within Europe, I am left with carrying around an incomplete stroller. The stroller apparently arrived at their hotel but was not accepted even tough beforehand I emailed and got their approval/permission to deliver to their hotel.

Laundry excellent nice clean everything in order Nothing dirty at the kitchen benches.. like most of hostels people dont put things back on cupboards or shelves. But this hostel manage very well with this. There are not Plastic stierres on kitcken there are Special for microwaves and dont get stuck with dirt!! Friendly staff...nice LIFT!! I LIKED EVERYTHING ITS A MODEL OF HOSTEL FOR OTHERS TO SEE IT. ..HOW IT WORKS!! I had been going to hostels for 30 years!! I am 70 years old!! What they Offer on line..they do have it!! A machine with some quick meals there. Central to resaturant shops trams train station...a bit far from car terminal for buses..got a taxi none on station cost me 12 euros..it was raining when arrived after 19 hours by bus from Belgrade. Cons: No air conditioning so we left the window open at night and we awakened by street construction/trash collection noise early in the morning. The laundry on site is great but is only one person at a time and if someone leaves their stuff then no one can use the washer/dryer so you have to wait around.

There is a comfortable sitting area in the reception, with a bar serving hot drinks and alcohol until quite late. I can say that the breakfast here was honestly the best I’ve ever had in a hostel setting - so many options, free of charge. The beds had nice clean linen and were very comfortable. I’m a restless sleeper and don’t like to take the top bunk in case I disturb the person below, however these beds were super sturdy and didn’t creak at all. Would definitely stay here again!

Cons: The hostel is located at the bottom of a very steep hill. There is a funicular and an elevator located a few blocks away, however I was not informed of this and was only told by a guest on my final day here. Shower facilities were awkward to navigate, with only one hook to hang your clothes on and no amenities. An individual in our dorm was incredibly noisy at night and early in the morning, and quite unsanitary (discarded feminine hygiene products in the open-top bin, hawking up spit in the hand basin, left the floor wet, etc.) I only mention this because they seem to be staying here long-term and should be warned against such behaviour.

Cons: It is really inappropriate to charge 122 CHF for a single room (in low season) where there is neither hand soap in the bathroom (and of course no tv). And receptionist asked me to take off the bed linen after check out! Check in was at 15:00 no minute before and check out at 10 am, unbelievable! It is obvious that the make a lot of money with the single rooms, but no service is offered at all! The room has a 3 stars rate and offers a hostel standard, that is really unfair and not business friendly at all. Really bad choice

Pros: I absolutely loved this hotel. It is relatively small, with a very friendly, attentive, and efficient staff. Pros: The Hotel is on a 15 minutes walk from the center of Bern in a quiet neighborhood . The room is a bit small, but functional , breakfast in the cellar is a good start of the day , it 's 'basic' so don 't expect a luxurry buffet.
Cons: The picture which is used in the advertisement is not the hotel itself but the other corner of the buildiing . I don't like the fact that it is misleading .

Pros: I absolutely loved this hotel. It is relatively small, with a very friendly, attentive, and efficient staff. The hotel itself is on a main tramline that runs through the old town and then on to the main station. This makes transport quick and convenient. The staff also answered all kinds of questions I posed as a first-time visitor to Bern. I will stay here again. There's no higher endorsement than that.
Cons: Thoroughly enjoyed the three nights spent here. The only thing I might mention is the absence of a kettle and coffee in the room. However, coffees and other refreshments were available, with fresh fruit and pastries, throughout the day in the foyer, which more than made up for the lack of a kettle. In fact, I only have praise and we are grateful to the staff for giving us such a pleasant few days.

Cons: There were some renovations going on but it did not really bother us, as it was over Christmas so no work going on. Scaffolding was up outside the front of the hotel.

Cons: The shower had no privacy from the others in the room, as it was just one cubicle (there was no separate bathroom, the toilet and shower were cubicles and the sink outside in the room). the door of the shower had an semi-Opaque band across middle with the assumed intention to cover the private’s, and the top and bottom of the door were transparent. There is a mirror directly opposite the door anyway, meaning those in the room are likely to see into the shower. Also a bit of a squeeze for 3.
