Cons:

Windows and mirrors had dried up water spots that made it hard to see to drive safely, but mentioned it to a staff and she cleaned it as best as she can and apologized.

Cons:

The car was not satisfactory. I did not receive the type of car I paid for (BMW 3 series) or given suitable substitute. The car I was given ran poorly and had the check engine light illuminated. Under anything more than delicate acceleration the car barely ran and a “wrench” alert was displayed. Not satisfied!!

Likes: type of vehicle we were given when our class of vehicle was not available. Drop off in Phoenix was very nice. Dislike: For pick up the shuttle we to from LAX to Avis was close to 45 mins to go 2 miles. Our vehicle was not available and were offered a smaller car which we declined. We had to wait 30 mins for the correct car to be delivered. We had to change from Burbank to LAX and were charged an additional $120. Not sure why.

Rented VW Jetta. Got Nissan Altima. I have never driven an Altima before. It has the worst windshield/defrost situation I’ve ever seen. Impossible to keep windows from fogging. Almost got me killed in the hills Thursday and Friday night. Tried it with outside air, circulating air, AC on, heat on, window down. It has to be a flawed design with the windshield. Or the car has a leak somewhere (heater core?). Terrifying driving experience. Surprised there hasn’t been a recall on these things.

Cons:

Allowed to make a reservation but there were no cars available. Told to come in later that day, came back and was again told no cars available even though there were several in the lot. If there are no cars available do not allow someone to make a reservation.

Dirty car inside, like totally dirty and mark no damages, but there was damages and it was hard to c them at night what was the pick up. I was lucky to find the damages on a rental parking lot and make the photos, otherwise they would ask me to pay for them. The supplier choice is apparently an EV even though I didn’t select the EV option. They require you to bring the car back charged. For a one day rental to the airport, that is not realistic. I was also charged for gas, which I had stopped near the airport and filled up. I eventually got a credit but the whole thing was a hassle and didn’t leave me feeling good about renting from Budget in the future.

Pick up process was ridiculous. I'm not exaggerating--standing outside (not in any type of building or cover) for 56 minutes while they tried to figure out rentals for myself and 7 other customers. Ended up just giving me a size up, was not cleaned well, didn't have record of what fuel level was at, and staff spoke all of 3 words to me. I saw the poor reviews at this location and figured, how bad can it be? Yes I got my vehicle and it worked fine, but the entire pick up and drop off experience was horrible and I do not plan to rent from this brand at this airport again.

I was lent a brand new car for a really GREAT PRICE! Not to mention that the rental was for a 44-day booking. The car was really clean (inside and out) when I got it. The Dollar staff at the Burbank Airport was friendly, and the process of picking it up and dropping it off was very efficient.

I expect to not be charged and refunded my payment for the insurance. Kayak let me schedule a rental pickup at a location that was closed. I took a $40 uber to the location to find out it was closed. Then walked a mile in the heat to an open car rental location and had to pay double for a rental. I am NEVER using kayak again

Your web site told me that I would be getting a Jeep Compass or similar car from Hertz for a certain price. When I got to Burbank, they Hertz employees had not seen a Jeep Compass come through in months and offered me a Kia--which I could have rented from multiple other car companies for much less than what Hertz was charging me. Super frustrating that I picked Hertz because of their offer, which was totally inaccurate. I won't be using them again:

We rented an electric car, we arrived and we were told that they do not have a car at all. We waited for 5 hours and was finally offered an F150 which is completely opposite of an electric vehicle in terms of gas consumption. They told us that they do not have anything in their lot and if we don’t take it, we won’t have any car. Bad bad planning on their end. Look at their reviews. Pretty much the same issue from their customers.

The rental staff- on pick-up and return- could not have been nicer. But, I reserved a small-sized SUV and was given a Kia Forte with 46,000 miles that had been smoked in heavily during a prior rental. I literally drove with the sunroof open the entire time I had the car to clear the air. I wouldn’t have mentioned this here if the couple in front of me on pick-up night- clearly walk-up customers- were given a new model red mini SUV, then I was told “You can take the small car over there or wait for a long time.” Bigger-picture, it is hard for me to understand how your company brings so much business to these rental car companies, yet we are treated as second-class renters. Thanks!

My main complaint is with the billing process. It was written in my confirmation that "Thrify charged the total cost of this reservation ($85.25) to your credit card today." However, when I picked up the car I was charged an additional $21.17 in miscellaneous services charges and taxes. I have rented cars and purchased flights through Kayak for many years and have never before experienced this "bait and switch" technique. I don't know if this scam was the fault of Kayak, Thrifty or CarRentals.com but suffice to say, I won't be using any of these companies again. If I can't trust you to quote me a fair price, then we can't do business with each other.
