Waited 30 mins to get checked in which is ridiculous. Also had two enterprise locations with similar names which was confusing and i went to the wrong one.

I appreciated the quick service and the vehicle was not falling apart like I have experienced with other agencies every now and again. The part I wish to resolve is the pre-pay on fuel. I was not advised that I would be charged for a full tank no matter what it was returned at. My understanding was I would be charged the gallons I used. I only used 1/4 of the tank so a full tank charge has left me a sour taste in my mouth. The representative knew I only had it for 1 day so that should have been something they advised and double checked on the consumer’s understanding of the policy. Albeit Enterprise is the leader of the rental industry, it’s the little things like this that can drive a customer away. I hope Enterprise steps up and resolves this matter.

Price was the draw and at least the counter was still open and they had a car despite our much delayed arrival. Bad news: ridiculous wait to get the car (40 mins) and was not informed that car had significant crack in the windshield. Fortunately someone had written what was an apparently indecipherable note regarding this issue on a side window so we didn’t need to worry about paying for it.

We were given an electric vehicle instead of the gas one we booked. Apparently PSP was closed for two days and so Budget supplied this location with extra stock: all electric vehicles. We planned to travel with the rental and it was extremely inconvenient to be bound to the charging schedule of an electric vehicle. We drove for one hour and our charge was already under 50%. After charging the vehicle for about 20 minutes at a public parking charge station, we had gained only one extra mile. In the end we stopped at a different Budget location that were able to swap us with a gas vehicle. (Thank you to the Ontario International Airport staff). Please stop pushing electric vehicles in your rentals. They’re very inconvenient especially for folks who want to travel with their rental (which id guess is very common).

Our preferred vehicle choice was not available but were given a complimentary upgrade at no extra charge. The drop of process was simply and easy, just pull up and hand the keys to the awaiting lot attendant,

The car had 50,000 plus miles on it and the very helpful AVIS clerk said I could return it if there were any issues. It showed signs of wear but that was ok with me. When one of the tires started losing pressure after a week or so I took it back but they didn’t have any replacements. They told me to take it to a specific tire dealer to get it fixed at no cost. The tire dealer said in addition to the leak, the front tires were bald and they shouldn’t have rented it in that condition. They replaced the front tires and fixed the leak and in under an hour.. Avis paid directly so I didn’t need to put out any money. Overall it worked out fine but Avis shouldn’t have rented the car to me without ensuring the tires were safe.

The pick up at AVIS was absolutely terrible. In a small airport like Palm Springs the pick up window was under staffed. When I finally got to the window they did not have the car we had reserved. When we were assigned a car it was not available and we waited more. Finally my wife went to the AVIS desk for the privileged renters and told that lady we had been waiting almost two hours and we needed help because I am diabetic. That person got us the AVIS car we had prepaid for and within 5 minutes we were on our way. The return process was back up for some reason. I waited in the car for probably 15 minutes. Then all of a sudden everything opened up and a person checked the car in and I headed to the terminal. Overall the service we got from AVIS at the Palm Springs airport was terrible.

I had changed my reservation April 2nd. Cars were now half the price. They told me my reservation was now confirmed for a mid size car. $448 us. Arrived in Palm Springs, they new nothing of it, regardless of my confirmation. Ended up with the original vehicle. They have now charged me $950 us. I have a complaint in. Never again.

Vehicle had a bad battery and had to be boosted and returned and then I was charged extra for exchanging it. They could not have done worse if they tried.

The agent at pick up said that Kyak did not include the tax in the price and so in fact I didn’t get the best deal as it stated when I booked. So I had to pay an Extra $24 usd. That was disappointing. I won’t use Kyak again.
