The value of the deal was good. Gas mileage was good. The attendant “Jay” was accommodating and helpful…..That’s pretty much where it ended. The location was in no man’s land, and no shuttle service from or to the airport. The vehicle, a Toyota Carolla, was worn out and NOISY. I don’t know if it was from the tires or what, but I could hardly hear the radio, and when on the highway, and conversation was difficult. My wife’s Toyota Tacoma with off road tires rides like a limo compared to our rental. The vehicle is tired and needs attention. Oh, and the “engine maintenance needed soon” light kept coming on. The bottom line is that it got us from point A to point B without breaking down and it was tolerable.Reviewed 21 Feb. 2023

The crew working at the yard where we picked up and dropped off our car were very friendly, helpful and courteous. The yard itself seemed pretty nondescript, but the people working there were upbeat and enthusiastic. I’ll be happy to rent from the Eugene Street yard again.Reviewed 17 Feb. 2023

Smooth as silk at both ends. One person operation in Palm Springs. He was friendly and made sure our vehicle was clean, as it had just arrived. At LAX, AVIS is super well organized. Even though there were quite a few cars pulling in all the time, they quickly processed us, and we were on the shuttle bus within 10 minutes of our arrival.Reviewed 2 Feb. 2023

the cost of this vehicle was ridiculous. 1 day $350 and when I asked what an additional 8 hours would be I was quoted an additional $300 dollars. Not going to use Avis again. Sorry.Reviewed 31 Jan. 2023

The reservation was not clear that the location was offsite of the airport. At the airport, there was an Avis desk with an incredibly long line and one person working. After an hour - even in the preferred line - I got to speak with someone and was told I was at the wrong location. There were no signs indicating this possibility. No shuttle. Took Uber to the correct location, which had little wait but almost no vehicles. I chose this reservation explicitly for the SUV I wanted, and we had to choose between a pickup that would be uncomfortable for the third passenger, a Camaro (nonstarter), and an oversized minivan with low ground clearance. We accepted the latter. After one day in Joshua Tree, the undercarriage cover falls off, having been hanging by zip ties. No way to get a person on the phone. The staffer we returned it to was gracious, but that day the line was long and he was working alone, also dealing with vehicles as well as customers. Cannot recommend Avis for future rentals.Reviewed 30 Jan. 2023
