We booked at a certain rate and then they told us that the insurance wasn’t included because we booked through the US/Canadian site - the person working behind the counter at the Marseille airport was not very helpful or nice at all. The agent who helped us was like all rental car agents I've experienced - constantly trying for the up-sell, only sharing information that would save us money when we asked specific questions, and keeping the total price of the rental vague to us until the paperwork was all printed and we were supposed to sign. Not different from other rental car agents, but certainly not better either. We were warned that specifically in Europe, rental car agencies are very particular about small spots of damage on their cars, so we documented everything with a photo and went back to talk to the rental agent with those photos before we left. I'd highly recommend everyone do this, because they updated the damage report according to our photos. The car itself was pleasant, and the return process was easy.Reviewed 26 Oct. 2022

Our experience was good. After reading a lot of reviews about extra charges, we were very careful to inspect our car for existing damages which were not noted on the car information paper. We took pictures and videos and had an agent come and verify the extra damages we found which were not listed. Aside from this, the personnel were very friendly and accommodating. The price was very reasonable at around €25/day for a compact, and we took the extra insurance at around €20/day for the peace of mind since drivers in Marseille are quite reckless (hard to find a car in the city that doesn’t have at least 15 large scratches and dents). Do your research and do your part to ensure that everything is in order before leaving a rental car agency - whether in marseille or anywhere else. Also be ready for a large guaranty by bank or credit card (mine was €600) which is generally released within 3-5 business days.Reviewed 6 Nov. 2021

Cons:My credit card, covers insurance .... I also purchased insurance through Kayak for $11 a day which was $22 for 1day rental .... on top of this Eurocar employee kept insisting I buy insurance at $30 per day from them.Reviewed 27 Jan. 2020

Cons:I rented for geneva airport return, and despite returning the car to europcar at geneva airport, they sent me on a wild chase around the airport with a very poorly written map to return the car in the french sector. This was totally unnecessary, added 1.5 hours of stress to our airport experience.Reviewed 29 Jul. 2019
