Avis gentleman at pick up was extremely helpful and cheerful. He came across as being very professional in his work. One of the issues I had was the inability to charge my Android phone as there were no USB ports (all I could see were Apple charger ports). As a result my phone had died and I lost my GPS to find my way back to the Hamilton Airport. I ended up taking a number of wrong ways but eventually made it to the airport but had no time to refill the fuel, so regrettably I will be charged a premium for the field I used. My recommendation is to equip the car with at least an adapter for the cigarette lighter slot to accommodate either Android phone ports or a USB port IF for some reason there were these boards they are not easily identified nor found as I have searched when I finally got to the airport and could not find any to suit my connection

Service representative was the least helpful person I've ever had at any rental car company. Pickup document showed full gas tank but was actually one quarter full. Luckily I took a photo before I drove off with the odometer and fuel tank level. When dropping off, told the same rep about the tank and he asked me to take a photo of the odometer and fuel gauge. The representative also had a proper conversation with a prior customer who is likely from the same geographic region as himself but did not provide that same level of service to me. I don't need to be pampered, I'm just saying bare minimum service levels need to be had with everyone. Gave avis a try but won't be renting with avis again after this experience.

Car had soft tire. You could tell there had been previous problem because valve stem cap was missing. After refilling it with air twice, I had to take it to a tire shop in Stevensville and wait for them to fix it. They found a screw in the tire. When I returned the car I told the clerk that I should receive some kind of discount and she said I would have to talk to the manager. I was flying out so it’s my loss. AVIS NO MORE !!!!!

The AdBlue, which we had never heard of being from the USA, had not been topped and we ran out while we were out and had no idea what to do We managed to find some and figure it out, but it wasted a day of travel since we were afraid the car would stop working before we could find some.

Sixt seems challenged with the "left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing." phenomenon. This came up first when a previous reservation and related messages kept popping up, and later when I was given conflicting information about paying a traffic fine. This resulted in piles of paperwork on both sides, confusing communication, and a great deal of frustration for everyone concerned. They need to get their show together, and I'm reluctant to rent from them again until/unless they do..

I was delighted with my experiencing renting from Sicily by Car in Olbia. The desk agent was exceptionally friendly and helpful - even giving me local tips! - and gave me a vehicle upgrade to a nearly new car. I loved driving around the island in the vehicle and found it a good value for the price. The only thing that could have been improved was the ability to return the car an hour later - I had to spend my last day sitting in the airport because of the strict rules around a later dropoff. I would have been happy to pay 10-20 euros for an extra hour or two, just so I could enjoy my last day in Olbia.

Scam company. Rejected my credit card on pretense the number poorly visible even though clearly visible by all. Still were happy to go ahead with the same card if we get the upgrade and buy expensive insurance. Declined the refund and still charged my card . We with family not only wasted our time and money had to go and find the car in a different place.

Staff at the office was very professional and friendly, unlike the staff at the garage/car pick up point. I had to wait with my 5 year old child at the parking lot for half an hour for the car keys to arrive. When the guy eventually arrived with car keys he was pretty rude to us for no reason. So, that spoiled the experience.

Pros:

The service was fast and car was ready when we landed in Rome. The car was equipped with a USB port so I could use my maps app without draining my phones battery plus we could listen to my music playlist through the cars radio. The price was excellent, return was just as convenient as pick up. Would definitely rent from Europcar in the future.

Upgraded car performed flawlessly and was very comfortable.

Dollar uses Hertz/Thrifty as agents but nowhere is this mentioned. Nowhere did it say at Rome train station the location to do the paper work was different than where there cars are located so went to the wrong location. Asked about if the car was returned a little after the origination time (as we had to walk back to the parking garage delaying the pick up of the car) if this would be and issue and was told that as long as I was close it would be ok. Found out at the garage that I was not given all the paper work so at the pick up garage they generated new paper work. Picked up the car. The car was not clean. Rushed check out process Large dent in passenger side door and significant scratches elsewhere. Was told by the garage staff they were aware of all the damage. Thankfully took pictures and paid for the supplemental insurance (very pricey). Drove the car without incident. The return to Florence was more near chaos. Arrived a half hour after the origination time due trouble getting diesel and was immediately asked about getting in an accident due to the dent in the door and also noted the scratches. Also he noted I was a 1/2 hour late returning the car. I stated that the body damage was there already there when we got the car but the somewhat surly check in person stated the paper work had no mention of the car having any damage what so ever. His attitude slowly changed when he realized the substitute paper work given to me at the garage was essentially blank with nor even the starting milage filled in. We worked out a guesstimate for the starting milage and likely since I had the supplemebtal full coverage and time dated pictures of the damage he said nothing more about body damage. Also nothing further about late arrival. After having significant stressr and feeling like this was all going terrible wrong he said everything was fine and he closed the rental. In the end I am not sure I would use Dollar again too much chaos!

This is the third time I used Budget / Avis. Avis scammed me twice in a row so I went with Budget this time. Turns out they have the same policies and employees so bait and swap!!!!

Cons:

If they didn’t keep downgrading me AND CHARGING MORE for a DOWNGRADE! They say they are sold out. No other options for a comparable rate/car and try to upsell luxury cars at $600 a day!

The car was good. The customer support lady was great and she gave us a refund on the mistakes they made with us.

Cons:

The desk clerk, we was not clear and was no willing to explain why we did not get what we reserved. They did not accept debit card because it is Electron. They wanted 2 credit cards to complete the contract. They didn't accept the Allianz car insurance and we had to pay extra for their own insurance. They gave us a smaller category and kept the same rate. The Said their fuel was cheaper and it wasn't. Will go with a different company next time.

A representative never showed up at the airport to meet me, they never tried to contact me to say there was an issue, and the phone number given never worked. I called 24 times throughout the day. I ended up renting from Europcar at the counter for three times the price. I think it's a SCAM. I was in Vienna.

I couldn’t find the location and no shuttle to the location of the car. The website description makes it seem as though it’s the airport area. It is not. Tried to call the facility but no answer. We had to call from the airport twice to get a pickup to the rental location which was 10 minute ride . Once there we found out that they did not recognize our insurance and I had to pay $260 for insurance . This now made my rental car more expensive than what was at the airports . Drop off went smooth , but we were dropped off at the rental location other than airport drop off for the airport .

Very bad. We paid by card $14 for two days, but when we went to get the car they ask us to pay 7 times this price plus $150 as a deposit. Why not to tell us the truth from the beginning, so we know the exact price. I am asking for paying me back the $14.

I got the impression that they were looking very hard to find fault with the car on return so that they could charge us. We took photos of every part of the car on collection and I would suggest that you do the same. That aside the car was cheaper than any of the main rental agencies.

We got the insurance that Kayak recommends through Allianze, and the staff were annoyed that we didn’t get insurance when we picked up the car. Upon return, she ‘found’ damage on the hubcap, and charged me 320 euros, saying, just get it paid back through your insurance. The spot she found was so tiny, it is barely visible on a picture. That seems like a money grab to me, Also, they were the rental agent t the furthest away from the airport, and difficult to find.

Drivalia offers cars with letter "e" in description. You don't know-it is full electric. To me it is economy. In Italy the infrastructure for electric cars is poor. Also,Drivalia uses Chinese MG small suv hybrid. This is really weird hybrid you don't want to drive. Eats lot of gas and you have to change this hybrid like full electric car. Milano int. Airport does not have good signs to get to rent garage to drop your car.

Picked up the car and it was filthy. Clearly hadn’t been cleaned since being used before. Key intermittently stopped working and were locked out of the car, when trying to open it manually, car alarm would repeatedly go off. Car was not maintained well.

We liked the good value for money, and the car itself was just what we wanted and had no issues. It was not completely clean though when we received it, nor did it come full of fuel- under half a tank. The pick up and collection from the car park was fine and very quick. It was the wait time at the drivalia desk to sign the contract and pay the deposit which took too long. We joined the queue at 10:30am and we’re not at the front until 12:00pm. We were not in a rush but other customers were as they had plans or connections to make.

Instruction for car pick-up and drop-off could be clearer. What is required for car pick-up, such as a US issued driver's license, and directions to get to the pick-up and drop-off locations. The instruction could come in the form of an email. Other than that, the experience was excellent.

Pros:

The process of finding where to go was pretty straight forward. In a big city they did well with directing you to the right direction.

Cons:

I received my rental car and drove it within minutes of driving out the parking lot was pulled over for missing my front license plate. I went back to hertz and they claimed I had lost it and would just have to deal with it for the rest of the week. The customer service was horrific. DO NOT USE!

Cons:

I rented the car for less than 24 hours, picked it up at Firenze, dropped it off at Rome. It was advertised that the price would be 49 euros. That is what I paid when I picked it up. The lady that provided the rental agreement at the counter asked me if I wanted to fill up the gas before dropping it off in Rome or if they can do it for me for a ridiculous amount of money, like 3 times the amount it costs to fill up the gas.I said I would fill it up. She laughed and said OK. I didn't understand what that meant but didn't think much of it. She knew the are in Rome because she explained to me how hard it was to get there, to find the little garage door in between the skinny streets of Rome. When I was ready to drop it off, It took me around 2 hours to find the ONLY gas pump in the whole area and it was broken. THEN, I understand why that lady laughed at my thought of attempting to find a gas station around the area. WHY DIDN'T SHE SAY SOMETHING AND JUST LAUGHED? It was just after midnight, around 12:25 and I had to drop the car off at midnight. There was nobody at the drop off location ( so nobody waiting for the car). At the end my bill was for 134 euros! SO like $180 for less than a day! And today, 4 months later, they attempted to charge my credit card again for an extra $35, for no reason. Stay away from Hertz! You have been warned. oh! And customer service ignored my request to go over charges. They didn't even send me an updated bill until I requested it. Never again Hertz.

Have just flown home. The check out and in process was smooth but they did not look over the car when you take it or on return, they just advise you to take photos. Having just landed, I have received an email with a €750 charge for windscreen damage which was there when I took it (I have photos as advised). They have also charged for 1/2 a tank of fuel when I returned 3/4. It is going to be such a headache sorting it out. Really disappointed. Like a windscreen replacement even costs that much anyway!! Total rip off. AVOID

Random charge was added to my account from Record Go even though I paid for the service and insurance through Kayak. When I dropped off the car, I was told there would be no charge and that the contract was closed out. This is on top of the nearly $1,500 deposit that I had to put down while already having insurance through Kayak/Expedia.

Never received the car. No response when calling the rental agency from the airport at arrival. Tried to call on the next day, same result. The number provided is an Argentinian number which doesn't seem to work.
