The line for pick up was over an hour. They gave me a large 4x4 with a trailer hitch. I refused it because I have had no experience driving a large vehicle and I had no need for one. Local transportation only. It took them two more hours to give me a car, which I was told was for a manager. 2019 or so; bad brakes, 75,000 miles. Not the best but I was glad to have something. I told them I wanted a smaller car, no preference. For two hours I watched customers go through the line and pick up vehicles; I kept asking why I couldn’t have that one or that one or that one. No answer. It took three hours to get a car which totally messed up my day. Will I ever rent from Fox again?? Obviously not. And if Kayak supports this poor management I will avoid Kayak also. I have never seen such confusion. Many people were having issues but not like mine. No excuses.Reviewed 1 Jun. 2023

The Pickup Process was frustratingly painful. I felt like I was in the 1980s, waiting in line for almost an hour to pick up a car. ( Late at night) (when I still had two hours to drive ). Shouldn't that process be more automated in 2023. Drop-off was smooth and easy, and the car was fine. But that pick-up experience was enough to turn me off from Fox for any future car rentals. We were not told about the extra driver charge. We were also told that every toll in Seattle was $20.00 so we took the toll package. When driving, the tolls showed $2,50, $3.50 etc. They were nowhere near $20.00 so we overpaid for them. A quote of $227.xx for the rental car turned out to be $411.xx. I reserved a compact SUV, but when I arrived they were “out of cars” and gave me a Toyota Corolla that had been damaged. When I made my initial call to FOX and ask for a discount, they asked me “ well why did you accept the car”. I informed them that I had no choice because I flew into Houston for my nephew’s graduation and this was my only option. They told me that I had to talk to the manager at the pickup location. I talked to the manager during drop off and he said that he would give me a 15% discount. I accepted. The manager then called me 30 minutes later and said he couldn’t give me the discount because I went through a 3rd party, but to “keep his personal number” and he’ll give me a discount next time I rent. No discount code or anything… just “call my personal number”. At that point, I just chalked it up to a loss.Reviewed 29 May 2023
