Pros: The hotel is slightly uphill from the train station (a few minutes' walk). The staff was responsive to my initially being assigned to a room where the train noises were so loud they shook my room, moving me to a room on a higher floor. (I could still hear many of the train noises there, but they were much softer.) The restaurant in the hotel next door (another hotel with the same owner) is a trattoria serving Genovese food and it was absolutely fantastic; you can book a reservation through this hotel's reception, which I recommend as it can be quite busy.

Cons: The hotel is quite a walk from the main sights of the town. The room I was moved to had a much worse layout than my initial room and it was very easy to hear noises and talking in the hallway even though it was harder to hear the trains. The shower was extremely small. No one ever refilled my minibar (during my entire stay) but housekeeping kept re-adding the charges I'd already accumulated so I had to keep asking reception to remove them.

Pros: Clean, comfortable, with excellent staff and free WiFi. Good breakfast and location. I stayed for 5 nights on business and it was perfect for what I needed. Good value too.
Cons: Only thing to be aware of is that there are around 20 steps to reach reception, which is inconvenient if, like me, you have a lot of heavy equipment. The hotel itself has a lift to all floors.

NH Genova Centro artfully combines classic and contemporary style rooms. The 141 rooms offer free Wi-Fi, a minibar and flat screen TV, with some of the rooms overlooking the Piazza Corvetto. Pros: Great location.
Cons: First of all, the WiFi was shockingly poor, so I wouldn’t advise business travelers to choose this establishment. The room was very small. The cleaner only came in the evening. The buffet was alright on the first morning but poor on the second day (soggy eggs and WATERY bacon). The gym’s water dispensor was empty and what we believe was mold growing on the shower walls. I’m not exaggerating here. Lastly, the staff were okay, but not particularly happy to see you or deal with you. My summary is that there are better 4-star hotels in beautiful Genova where the venue is taken care of with more care and dignity. We were really underwhelmed by the mediocrity present here. NH management should audit this location asap.

The Best Western Hotel Moderno Verdi is housed within a beautiful historic building, which has been carefully renovated in the Liberty Style. This architectural style was so congenial to Genoa that the Florentine architect Gino Coppede spent a long time in the city to develop his own particular style taking inspiration from the Liberty and Art Deco Styles. The hotel design is characterized by elegance and attention to detail. The layout of the interiors and furnishings; the elegant fabrics and curtains; the exquisite burl wood paneling; and the clever play of indirect lighting; all combine to convey the warmth and hospitality of a private dwelling. The hotel is located close to the Genoa Brignole Railway Station, the airport and the International Fair. Reach the main theaters, the Palazzo Ducale, the aquarium, the convention center, the Porto Antico di Genova, the historic center, the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and the motorway within a few minutes. The Bandaranaike International Airport is just eight kilometers away. Since December 2012, the new Genoa Brignole Metro Station, right next to the hotel, allows you to quickly travel to the main points of interest of the city. The hotel is the ideal starting point for a business trip or for tourism and culture. The professionalism and courtesy of our staff will make guests feel right at home. Each of the 87 well-appointed rooms are furnished with care and elegance and equipped with amenities like high-speed broadband access, mini-bar, electronic safe box, air-conditioning, LCD televisions with Mediaset Italia cinema and foreign satellite channels and Premium Calcio Football Coverage, a hairdryer, telephones in the room and the bathroom, and a tub or shower to ensure our guests have a pleasant and relaxing stay. The on-site Rigoletto Restaurant featuring cuisine based on local specialties, the lounge bar, two lifts and a private underground parking garage watched by CCTV cameras make us an ideal hotel.

Pros: The hotel was spotless, and most staff were great, just one man was a little rude all the time but I don’t know if that was possibly a language barrier. The room was tiny, really not big enough for two. Lovely bathroom and powerful shower. Rock hard bed and pillows but when we ask for softer pillows they were provided which was great. But I was delighted to get back to my own bed for a good nights sleep. The breakfast was basic but breakfast staff were great. I wouldn’t go back to this hotel sadly.

Pros: Hotel was very convenient to the train station which made day trips easy. Besides the staff at my initial arrival, everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Wouldn’t let me check in two hours early or wait for my room even though I was soaked and there was a thunderstorm outside. Room had not been cleaned properly as there was hair in the shower from a previous guest. Mirror over the sink was mounted so high I could only see the top half of my face. Closet almost unusable as the television was hung in the opening. Bed horribly soft. Felt like I was sleeping in a college dorm room or a hostel.

The room was great - spacious enough for one, yet, I think it could be more place to put your things. The bathrooms was good, the bed - comfortable. Pros: There are friendly stuff and rooms are always well equipped and clean.
Cons: During 2 first nights in the next room of my room had African visitors who talked with phone loudly during all the night. That speaking voice sounded through the wall and made my sleeping difficult.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in a very good location, very close to really good restaurants and shopping. We were able to pick up refreshments for our room at the front desk.
Cons: There is nothing that I didn't like.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Near train station Genova Brignoli. Few good restorans near hotel.
Cons:
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is just perfect! Just in the city center. The reception was really kind and helpful. The room was great - spacious enough for one, yet, I think it could be more place to put your things. The bathrooms was good, the bed - comfortable. Maybe a bit too cold at night, but my bad because I haven't even checked if the heating is on. Anyway, this place is defiantly worth to stay in while in Genova.
Cons:
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great - all that I met spoke excellent English and were very helpful. Room was clean and had everything that I would expect from a basic hotel room. Plenty of charging sockets and soap and shower gel included. Perfect for anyone travelling alone on a budget.
Cons: I can't think of anything - there was nothing that didn't meet my expectations.
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff very friendly, and nice location
Cons: Very noisy !
8.8 Excellent
Pros: receptionists excellent, very welcoming. Added bonus was leaving luggage after check out and before leaving for the airport,. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to Brignole Station and the centre of the city. Will be back at this hotel if ever back in Genoa.
Cons: Hot drink facilities in the room, we like a cup of tea in the morning before facing the day! Al else very good.

Cons: Poor english from the majority of the staff. And the breakfast is not bad but it's not the best.

Pros: Location was good
Cons: I was in a wheelchair and it was difficult getting in and out of the lift. My husband found the lifts very small for someone with luggage. I returned on 1 November and i still have a credit card pending payment showing even though I used nothing from the mini bar I advised the front desk that the person cleaning our room on 2 occasions has removed or thrown out personal possessions of mine - toothbrush and shower cap. They were to investigate. I received no communication or feedback whilst there or since my departure.

Pros:
Cons: Reception staff should be kinder and more polite to the guests.

Pros: The location is at one of the most important streets in the city center. The staff was really kind, polite, helpful and positive. The room for me was a surprise a bit because I have never seen before that the rooms would have shower in the room without a wall to separate it. But that wasn't a problem. There was one shared bathroom (with a shower and a toilet), but maybe in other rooms they have private toilets. Either way - the room was great - big comfortable bad, there was a heating in the room which I could regulate (perfect, because it was really cold days out there), the towels, soap, hairdryer - all in the room. So for a few days my staying there was really pleasant.

Pros: great location not far from the station
Cons: I was asked to pay a city tax at the reception after I had already paid the full payment I don't know why, they wanted to keep my passport to hand over the keys and I could not get out of the hotel until some one was available at the reception to get my passport back in the following morning which was not good. I did not feel the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Also the bathroom was tiny there was almost no gap between the sink and the commode. Walls wasn't too good as it was a bit noisy and could hear all the noises from out specially the bells from the near by church very early in the morning.

Pros: The location is at one of the most important streets in the city center. The staff was really kind, polite, helpful and positive. Cons: For me it wasn't a problem, but for others it might seem too noisy - the walls are thick, and the windows/doors to the balcony are old, so you can hear the noise from the outside and even feel the cold coming in. And also can hear the noise from other rooms.

Pros: Nice place just outside the train station, excellent if you are just passing by Genoa and only will spent a couple nights, and then take a train to another place like Nice or Florence. Fair price for a good room, and if you are in good shape you can walk to the main attractions of the city.

Pros: Staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast was very nice. The design of the room was nice with the storage floors.
Cons: Pictures of room look awesome but room did not compare. Our room smelled like fried food. Didn't want to take our shoes off because the carpet didn't look clean.

Pros: very close to the center of the city and the train station
Cons: Very, very hard to find with GPS and a good sense of direction. Small hotel signage at the end of a busy one way street - with very limited parking. Good if you are walking or taking a cab - nightmare if you are driving.

Pros: A gorgeous view overseeing Genoa. It's close to the port - and it's actually one of the cleanest ports I've seen in my life. Extremely professional staff and a decent breakfast by continental standards. I would highly recommend this, particularly if you are going to the ferry the next day.

Pros: It was terrible.. This place is a 1 star at best.
Cons: Bed was to small, AC didn't work in room. Joint entry door with next room was like they were in my room! Just not a good stay
4.5 Okay
Pros: Spacious room, nice towels
Cons: They turn off the air conditioner at night because they expect you to open your windows to the "cooler" air. The place is next to a port operating 24/7 loading and unloading cruise ships. Extremely noisy and bright lights all night. The windows are approximately 6ft long by 4 ft wide and you have to open the whole window. There were gale force winds coming in and blowing everything around. So there was either no air circulation with the windows closed or a wind tunnel with them open.
The beds were too firm for our liking.
Not a place to get a good night's rest.
6.2 Good
Pros:
Cons: It was on the far side of the harbor. It was on the industrial western side. Most of the historic sites were on the eastern side.
