The pictures made the hotel seem like it would be better quality than it was. The rooms were outdated and the building as a whole is run down. The “river view” is not anything to brag about, just the backsides of some buildings, yet they charge more for those rooms. One of the elevators was broken, and we were staying on the sixth floor. Cons (-) Everything under construction, lamp broken, dirt and smashed bugs on walls, navigating to room through hanging plastic, windows blocked out. The online info for the hotel indicates a luxurious property which is miles from the truth. We did complain and did receive a small discount but the experience was dismal.

Pros (+) They staff were very apologetic and did their best to provide great service despite the fact that this hotel is a dated crumbling relic - it has been purchased by a hotel group and it will be unrecognizable - completely transformed and beautiful when it's finished.
Cons (-) We never would havbooked there had we known the state of the reno, we were advised there were renovations but this is far beyond what we expected. it's surprising it's open right now considering the scale of renovation. The pool and whirlpool were drained which was disappointing. But the beds and pillows were fantastic and we slept well.
