Pickup was a disaster. They said they had no cars -- why do we make reservations? It took an hour to finally get a car. The attendant pointed at the Tesla we rented and we asked her about charging cables (so we could plug in at a more easily found "level 2" charger, not just use a Supercharger) and she just shrugged. Drop-off was also frustrating because the attendant didn't know if we get recharged for using a Supercharger or just a flat fee, so we left without knowing what the charges were (turns out it's $35 if you return it with less than 70% and also you will be recharged for whatever you ring up at a Supercharger). The car was great, the facility is overtaxed and understaffed.Reviewed 17 Dec. 2022

Unless you're a Gold member expect to wait awhile for your vehicle.Reviewed 13 Nov. 2022

Pickup was an absolute nightmare. 25 people at least waiting for their car rental at Hertz. Initially told 30 minutes… it took over 2 hours. I will never rent from Hertz again.Reviewed 7 Nov. 2022

I am a Hertz Gold member but, by booking through Kayak, they didn't give me any amenities. I waited 30 minutes for my dar in BWI.Reviewed 24 Sep. 2022

I was scheduled to leave BWI airport on a 5:50am flight. No one warned me that returning a car in time to make that flight and then getting from the rental site to the airport could be a problem. When it dawned on me that there could be a problem, I called Hertz. The person suggested that I return the car the night before and then "sleep at the airport." I was stunned that the idea of sleeping at the airport. I am 76 years old. I've slept at airports in years past, and it's not something I wanted to do. Floors are hard, the airport is chilly at night, I would hardly get any sleep. I ended up calling several nearby hotels to see if any had airport shuttles at 4am. I found a hotel, paid $141 that I hadn't expected to have to spend, but Hertz wouldn't reduce their rate in light of my returning the car early, I wish the Hertz agent would have cautioned me about the problems finding early-morning rides to the airport after dropping off a car at their off-site car pick-up place.Reviewed 19 Sep. 2022

The car was not clean. The parking brake was gunked up with some sort of sticky substance. We found trash wedged between the seat and the center console. Also, the USB port was broken, so I couldn't use many of the infotainment system's capabilities.Reviewed 9 Aug. 2022

Hertz could have honored the paid in full reservation I made. Instead, my husband and I were stranded in the middle of the night with no car at BWI. Fortunately, after a two and a half hour wait in line, at 3:30 a.m., Avis was able to a find car for us. I cost us $114 more than we had paid to Hertz. What is the purpose of a paid in full reservation, if Hertz is not going to honor the reservation??? Nora and Neil IsaacsReviewed 26 Jun. 2022

We arrived at the Hertz counter in Baltimore to a very long line. They had one maybe two people working the counter and they seem to just really be taking their time. After standing in line for almost an hour they told us they had no cars available and it might be an hour and it might be longer. They absolutely should have let everyone in line know the situation and that they did not have any cars. We had made a reservation quite a while ago for a luxury vehicle and then they treat us like that. We went down to Avis and they totally price gouged us to the tune of almost $2500 for one week. We are done renting from any of them. It is a scam!!!Reviewed 17 Apr. 2022

Hertz didn’t even have the car I reserved when I went for pickup. It felt like that Seinfeld skit. Waited almost three hours and got a completely different car than I booked. Rent elsewhere.Reviewed 12 Apr. 2022

The wait to pcum up the car was over an hour. The when I dropped it off I was charged for an additional day of coverage because I dropped it off 20 mins late, despite the fact that I got the car over an hour late the day prior. Never paying for coverage again.Reviewed 11 Apr. 2022
