Due to an early flight, we had to drop off the car off hours without real-time validation of the car’s condition. We received an email claiming of a right front wheel scratch damage to the car however we captured a time stamped detailed video of the car’s condition upon pick up. The video clearly illustrates the “damage” was present before we rented the car. it is frustrating that we now have to waste our time challenging fraudulent charges. Luckily we have supporting evidence but would not recommend this Hertz location to anyone as a result.Reviewed 9 Jul. 2023

1. Drop-off location at the parking in from of airport doesn't issue a car, only pickup 2. Terminal location is not listed on google maps 3. 20$ airport fee never mentioned during booking 4. Car wasa booked for 12pm, we arrived at 2:40pm it was not ready, waited 20 minutes and they give different car on manual gear, not automatic as booked (they are not paying attention), eventually exchanged fro automatic. 5. Check in went well and was easy. The car I was given had a number of dents and scratches. When I spoke to the agent, he assured me that all the damage was noted on the contract that was handed to me. Despite this, I took pictures and a video of the car at pick up. Unfortunately, because of an early flight, we had to use the key drop box and were not able to return the car to a live agent (so that we could confirm there was no new damage). Again, I took pictures and a video of the car just in case. A couple of hours after dropping off the car, I received an e-mail telling me there was new damage for which I would be charged. The picture they sent shows damage that is not there in my pictures or video. We decided to go with Hertz because we thought it was a reputable company. However, we were left disappointed. Now, we have to spend our time and energy disputing these additional charges.Reviewed 3 Oct. 2022

Cons:No one answered the phone at Hertz in Catania for two days (these were weekdays). Another set of friends had the same experience. Our third couple waited over 3 hours for their car in Catania. I rented from Avis instead. Never again Hertz.Reviewed 24 Aug. 2017
