Avoid this Hertz. Countless reviews of poor service, vehicles unavailable, and I experienced it for myself. I booked a 7 passenger vehicle for 24 hours through your website in the morning around 8 am for a noon pickup. When I arrived, the attendant said there were no such vehicles available. That's fine, I understand if you don't have one. HOWEVER, why not call me once you saw the reservation come in and let me know you would not be able to supply a vehicle to meet my request??? It would have saved everyone so much time. On top of that, the attendant said they did have a 7 passenger SUV available but it was luxury class so it would cost an additional $150. If it were my business, I would have comped the "additional charge" and let the customer take the "luxury" SUV but that just makes too much sense. Poor experience all around, I will not use Kayak for renting cars like this in the future.Reviewed 5 Sep. 2022

I was stranded in Columbia, SC after my flight was unexpectedly diverted from Atlanta. The only option for a one way rental was Hertz at the airport. The economy car they gave me so I could drive back home to FL cost me nearly $500 for one day! Worst of all, the AC didn’t work properly. I was forced to drive 9 hours with the AC not working properly in near record heat!Reviewed 8 Aug. 2022

Everyone is strapped for cars these days. Luckily Hertz had a car for me (had a reservation via Kayak). Others coming to the counter late at night were not so lucky. The lot was thin. I reserved a sedan, e.g. Chevy Malibu but received a GMC Acadia. Way too much car, but can't be to picky these days. No agent in the return lot, had to take keys to counter, but it was quick.Reviewed 22 Oct. 2021
