Hertz had had no car for me, no apology, and no compensation offer. Some 20 others before me who also had reservations also got no car. I was fortunate enough to find an Avis/Budget rental location (Folsom, E. Bidwell St) with a car, but paid more than triple by walking in day-of with no reservation.Reviewed 30 Dec. 2022

We got a Chevy SUV that was fairly new and nice. It got good gas mileage but had a small gas tank. It held the 4 suitcases we had but was packed to the ceiling practically. The interior had a marijuana smell at first and we realized that the center console had been used by the previous renters to store it because it wreaked. Besides that, it was a great car for our 8 days of use. We will definitely use Hertz again as it was a great value…much cheaper than renting through the airport.Reviewed 20 Jul. 2021

Pros:Not one thingCons:After spending $53 dollars in Uber to get to the rental company. It would’ve been better if I would’ve been rented a car. I was told I should have read the fine print. Cars are first come first serve. Then I stood there while people behind me received cars. Cons:The SUV I reserved was not there. Waited three and a half hours for resolution. Nothing. Couldn’t get one alternate vehicle because it needed an oil change. Couldn’t get a van because it needed registration renewal but it had permanent tags. Manager called corporate and person who could sign off didn’t return four phone messages in those three and a half hours. Left very upset with no vehicle.Reviewed 26 Sep. 2020

Pros:Staff was over taxed and under prepared. Misrepresented their abilities and timeliness.Cons:Their staffing so so substantially inadequate that I watched a woman wait 90 minutes to cancel her reservation. Literally could not have been worse.Reviewed 30 May 2019

polr location and undertrained staffPros:The car itself was fine, it was a good price and had no issues.Cons:The staff were all pretty young and didn't seem to know what they were doing. They were overbooked and didn't have a car for me at the time of my scheduled pickup. I ended up with a smaller car than what I had reserved and was not discounted the price; but after an hour of waiting there with two small children I needed to get going so I didn't have much choice but to take it. Dropping off the car was no better. I waited 20 minutes just to drop it off. The office was again full of people waiting for cars because they were overbooked. New management is definitely needed here. I will not rent a car from this location again. By far the worst experience I have ever had with a rental place.Reviewed 3 Jun. 2017
