Cons:Transparency! The car I was promised was not what I got including the option. The car smelled of smoke and clearly the previous renter had animals. The car had dints and the appearance was very subpar. I was embarrassed to even drive it. It set in my garage the whole weekend. I even returned it on Sunday. I felt I was treated like a second class citizen and I all I got was sorry but it is what it is. The only satisfaction I got from this rental was returning it early!! I would never recommend Hertz to my friends and I would never rent from Hertz every again!!Reviewed 9 Mar. 2021

Cons:Had to wait an hour to pick it up. It wasn't ready. Then, when they finally brought it out, it was filthy on the outside. The tire pressures were all wrong and there were many dents and dings on the exterior, including a stone chip on the windshield.Reviewed 28 Oct. 2020

Pros:Staff was friendly to get an upgrade. All downhill from there!Cons:Upgraded car smelled like smoke. Chip in window. Windows were dirty and literally could not see out of rear view mirror. Had to clean manually. Gas was 3/4 filled!! Worst rental experience ever!!!Reviewed 1 Sep. 2020

Read the Small PrintPros:Great price for one day rental. Easy pick-up location however this location is closed on the day we had scheduled turn in of our vehicle. We asked for a mini-van. Location only had a full size SUV, so we got a free upgrade.Cons:Costco website advertises which locations are open for both pick-up and return, so it is easier to pick convenient locations. Our pick-up location being closed Sundays, gave only option to not suffer additional day charge as drop off at the airport. We made this work, but it would have been nice to know this before we committed to this deal. Kayak could do better in this regard. Upgrade was nice however if I'd been in need of a mini-van due to access restrictions, they did not have my requested option unless I drove to another location.Reviewed 22 Jan. 2018

Closed early due to holiday hoursPros:Brand new car with less than 1000 miles.Cons:I reserved my vehicle until 4pm to buy myself time to get home before the office closed to return my rental. When I went to pick up my car I was told that I had to have the rental back by 1pm or I would be charged an additional day. The store was closing at 1pm because it was the day after Thanksgiving. Pros:They picked me up at my body repair shop and brought me back to their office.Cons:Hertz didn't do the customary walk thru with their agent & myself to inspect the car for damages prior to taking the car. They said they took photos of the car before but it seemed odd. There was a good size ding on the right front quarter panel which I took a photo of with my phone.Reviewed 4 Aug. 2017

bait and switch!Pros:Worst experience ever!Cons:Rented a car for Saturday and returning Sunday. All documentation i received said that I could return the car on Sunday. Turns out they are closed on Sunday and do not have an after hours drop. Ended up having to pay for two days and a drop off in a different location fee even though i have a confirmation saying i can return on Sunday. Customer Service was awful!!!Reviewed 31 Jul. 2017

Idiots.Pros:Nothing.Cons:Booked the rental for a Noon pickup without telling me ahead of time that the office closed at Noon on Saturdays. Get there to pick up my car and the lights are out and the doors are locked. Here's an idea: If you're going to close and lock up the office at Noon, maybe you should make your last pick up time 11:30? Idiots.Reviewed 18 Jun. 2017
