There were no cars available at my scheduled pickup time. I was told that they would call me when something was available. Never got a call. Tried to call the store but they had closed. I never got the a car at all for my trip. Also I was told that I would have to pay for an additional day bc the time I scheduled to drop it off is no longer available. Was totally ok with renting a vehicle with them until I called to make sure we still was on for the date 2 days before my trip was then informed we had to pass a credit check a put down a hefty fee that I wasn’t expecting lucky I found another place in town for half the cost with brand new cars and not a quarter of the feeReviewed 21 Feb. 2022

The Tuscaloosa, AL location is based solely on customer returns, meaning if other people don’t return their vehicle on time there is not one available for you. This happened to me and multiple other customers before the holidays, and I ended up unable to go on my vacation because despite a reservation I was never given a car. I’m still in a financial battle with Hertz to get my money back. They only have an unhelpful website, and claim a 5% fee to talk to an actual human being on the phone. We arrived at the car rental location and there was no car. The manager was mean, rude and not customer friendly at all. She said we were late for our reservation and out of luck. (Our plane was late and we were 40 min past the hour hold policy) She claimed she gave it to the reservation that came in on time- but had no answer as to where that customer's car was. She said she had no additional cars and none were available at any other locations. After reading many reviews about this particular location, it's apparent that this happens often as well as the rude and belittling behavior that goes with it. Hertz should rethink who they have as their employees-and at least have customer service that is friendly and kind to the customers!Reviewed 4 Oct. 2021
