10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, good location, hot water in the showers (essential for 4am tour wakeups) and a kitchen (also essential). The bed was comfortable and they offered tours, Spanish lessons, breakfast and had a nice seating area on the roof. I would have done a Spanish lesson or 2 but I wasn't there long enough. Also my bus arrived really early (5-6am) and they still let me into my room as they could see I was close to collapsing for lack of sleep.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Ana, the owner of the property, was always very helpful and nice. She gave us advise about what to do in town and helped us organize the tours. The property is basic but it has everything you need, the location is good and every part of the property we saw was super clean.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: central but quite location. Good mattress and spacious rooms. Top shower very good pressure and hot! Staff is so super friendly here. They help you with everything, organizing tours. Anas husband is a guide and knows everyt track here! Highly recomennded to stay here!
Cons: ....
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff spoke English and were genuinely helpful. Good value. Quite at night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Arrived early morning on a nightbus from Lima, and Ana already let me into my room to refresh and relax, wayyy before check-in time, even offered me breakfast! Absolutely caring host.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Ana did not speak much English but with our little Spanish we were able to communicate. All the staff were fantastic and helpful and nice. We had to cut our trek short and we returned a day early to stay again with Ana. We were able to store our bags here while we went on a trek which was great. Breakfast was good, fast. Deck area on roof to enjoy sunshine and place to relax. Room very clean.
Cons: We chose room away from street to avoid street noise (cars love to honk at everything in Peru), but turns out next door to some school that had announcements and band playing early in the morning so guess there is no getting around it! It is a bit of a walk from the plaza, but even so it is a very cheap taxi if you don't want to walk.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, hot water for shower and you can do your laundry at rooftop balcony.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts we're extremely welcoming and polite. Very helpful in arranging tours to the outer lagoons. The room was cleaned daily and has a hot shower. The breakfast was delicious and the roof top terrace was nice to relax on during the day. Would highly recommend
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners Ana and her husband are really friendly and are there to help you at any time. The breakfast is good. You get some bread with eggs and jam and some fruit or yoghurt, thee and coffee. The accommodation is really clean. They have a small terrace that is nice with some views of the mountains. A 15 min walk from the touristy center.
Cons: When I arrived there was nobody, after calling Anna she came directly to open the door for me. She excused herself. Said that check in is at 12. On booking there stood from 12. Miscommunication. All the rest of my stay made it all good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good property standard. Hot showers. Decent wifi. Not bad breakfast. Very nice and helpful owners. Helped us a lot with organising day tours, both organised and on our own, gave a lot of useful tips. Stored our huge luggage while we were cycling around Huarascan National Park. We extended our stay there 2 times and came back a week later for a few more nights.
Cons: The property is located close to some disco/wedding venue/restaurant, I'm not sure. We had two noisy nights (out of 10), one night music didn't stop until 3am, another night it stopped at 11pm. As always in Peru - have a good pair of earplugs with you. The room requires some simple fixes - curtains mechanism didn't work properly, some drawers were broken. Nothing major.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is the best hostel that I stayed at in Huaraz. It was clean, comfortable and the owner was super friendly and helpful. She have me a lot of useful information regarding the area and trekking. I would love to stay there again. Thank you, Ana!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was well situated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Great stay!
Cons: The WiFi was not working the whole time
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean, well decorated, comfortable the bathroom was pretty new. Good view from the terrace and the breakfast was delicious.
Cons: The room was looking at the main street and there was a lot of noice since the windows couldn’t isolated the traffic’s noise.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and very nice hotel Comfortable beds Amazing shower (something that's hard to find in Huaraz)
Cons: Large rooms face the main street which is EXTREMELY noisy (constant honking, car alarms, ice cream vendors sirens and music from the arcade place across the street). Had to sleep with earplugs. Spotty internet
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean rooms, great view from some rooms, good breakfast, and friendly staff.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location. You are two blocks away from Plaza das Armas. Also, they kept our bags safe during our 4 day trek.
Cons: We had no hot water in our room at that moment. They did offer us to take a shower in a different room in which the hot water did work. Also, we had a room at the street side, which is noisy! Everyone driving a car on Huaraz is big on honking their horns, so expect a lot of noise from the streets in your room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very helpful and friendly. Bed very comfortable, really good, powerful shower with lots of hot water. Highly recommended..
Cons: Everything was good!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Close to everything, value for money.
Cons: Very noisy in the evening.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely phenomenal value for $30/night with an amazing view, central location, and comfortable room. Even as a backpacker, when you're considering between hostels that might be slightly cheaper, sometimes you might be up for treating yourself to a nice hotel. I spent 10 nights here at this hotel in June. It's hard to really appreciate how awesome the location is; even if you choose some other hotel on this website, please ensure you get a central location.
Cons: I was bummed that the wifi was not always reliable. The restaurant on the ground level of the hotel (La Brasa Roja) had excellent wifi, which I'd usually have to go to in order to check a few things. But I couldn't always get wifi to work. I had a Peruvian simcard so I could still go on the internet. Also, as you'll read below, the downside of having such a central, excellent location is the noise. It wasn't a big problem for me. But I also have good noise cancelling headphones that I tend to wear most nights anyways (even at my own apartment in the USA, haha). If you read reviews of other hostels, they'll also have random noise problems (like night clubs nearby), so it's not anything you can fix entirely by going to other hotels; it's just the nature of Peru and Huaraz. It may not be something you can entirely avoid. And it's not the hotel's fault. But it's something to be aware of. You won't hear much noise from midnight to 6 am. But outside these hours, you'll hear dogs, cars, etc. Some other hotel guests I chatted with said they just slept through it with no problem. Would it deter me from staying here again? No.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Aurora was so amazing and accommodating! Would stay here 100 times again just for that factor, not to mention the rooms were nice and clean and the best was comfy!
Cons: It was a noisy as my room was right on the street, but I put my ear plugs in and it wasn't a problem.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: An excellent b&b in Huaraz. Clean and spacious rooms. Good breakfast and very helpful personal. And a chill terras.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very attentious and kind. We arrived with big delay due to transit problems and they found a day tour on the last minute. Also, they prepared our breakfast on the night before so we could eat before leaving for trekking in the early morning.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel also helped us arrange our activities in the Cordillera Blanca. The staff made us feel like part of the family. At different times there was a different family member in charge which lead to some confusion. But, they were all very nice and always worked things out. They watched our bags and let use stay in the common rooms after our checkout. The family room for four was spacious and comfortable. The location is an easy walk to the main square. We enjoyed walking through the neighborhood. But, some might find it a bit far.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, just 5 minutes away from the plaza. Nice double room. Very kind owners.
Cons: Breakfast could have been a little bit more extensive, second day for example there were no eggs because they were replaced by a fruit salad. For big eaters this is not enough. Cold room due to lack of heating.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Shower was good. Hot, good pressure, reliable. We were placed at the back of the house which was relatively quiet (compared to the hustle and bustle of the street). Were allowed to use the kitchen to cook a basic evening meal.
Cons: Mattress covered in plastic sheeting which meant that bed sheet constantly slipped off mattress - impossible to keep it on. Made bed uncomfortable to sleep on. Big shame as bed ittsself would have been comfortable otherwise. Variable helpfulness of staff. Breakfast fine but quite small and limited options. Location is interesting - right amongst a sprawling street market. Cool but not ideal if you are looking for a relaxing stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were lovely and very helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, serving us an early breakfast and storing our luggage during our trek.
Cons: The room was really cold.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuy amable! The host gave us enough time to take a rest before taking a night bus, paying for only 20 soles! You can take a tour like Parón lake, Pastoruri glacier, easily in reception!
Cons: A little bit cold, but it’s was HUARAZ.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms to the back, very quiet. Clean rooms, hostel always closed and we received a key to the massive metal gate. Eating area and kitchen can be used bu guests, modern and fully equipped. Very friendly owners, we met him for a nice discussion over a bottle of wine. Great full breakfast, directly cooked for us. Location is close to local and long distance bus terminals and to departure areas of many combinados. In the middle of market area. They offer tour contacts to the lagunas at cheap prices.
Cons: Rooms without external light, but sufficient ventilation.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Interesting location near the local central market, 10 minutes walk from the Cruz del Sur bus station and all the main sights in Huaraz. The room and the breakfast area were very clean. Staff very helpful but don't speak English. Definitely a good value choice for Huaraz.
Cons: My room overlooked the shopping street so a little noisy with loud music playing during trading hours. When walking you need a good map to orientate yourself back to the hostel!
7.9 Good
Pros: The place, the price, the convenience of getting from the hostal to anywhere
Cons: No soap, it takes long time for the hot water, not enough air ventilation
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, hot water, wonderful and helpful host. Excellent value for the price!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is gorgeous with incredible views. Located walking distance from central square, shops and restaurants.

Pros: Good location, good value for money
Cons: Poor breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a great place. We ended up staying for 4 nights. Staff were great and helpful and spoke some English.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - Perfect location, close to bus station and main street, yet far enough to make it a quiet place to stay. - The host was super nice to us even we don’t know spanish. He let us wait at the property for the night bus. - Great view on the top floor. - Nice shower with hot water.
Cons: False check-out time! We were told the check-out time is 12:00. But the maid just open our door with her key WITHOUT KNOCKING at 09:30. And she open our door AGAIN and told us the check-out time is 11:00. Then she even wait outside our door and play music loudly to annoy us. This is RIDICULOUS.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located 5min away from the Plaza de Armas. You don’t really hear the noise of the streets. The room was ok for a few nights. The WiFi was really good. The staff was really nice and welcoming. After a day of trekking, there’s indeed the possibility to take a shower before traveling.
Cons: Rooms are a bit old-fashioned. The breakfast wasn’t great at all as it’s not a buffet like almost everywhere else. You are granted 1 glass of fresh orange juice and 1 egg. Nothing more... you can still have bread, bananas and tea, but the choice is very limited.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very accommodating staff
9.2 Excellent
Pros: OMG I left my money belt there with credit cards and cash, then i went on trek, when i got back they had whatsapped me that they had the belt ( i hadn't even noticed yet it was missing). Such honesty staff and such wonderful front desk staff . Thank you Jacal

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just perfect. High class hostel with a great location, very quiet but 3-4 mins walk to city center. The rooms are big enough and very comfortable. The view from the rooftop for breakfast is beautiful. The hosts barely speak english but we comunicated well.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our group arrived very early and well before check in time, but we were greeted with enthusiasm and warmth. Additionally, the staff provided us with wonderful breakfast and coffee despite that it was not necessarily offered on our arrival day. The family atmosphere makes La Casa de Maruja an excellent choice in Huaraz and the staff is ready with advice for activities in the surrounding areas.
Cons: I was so pleased with my stay, I honestly cannot think of anything negative.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was a great little find and Maruja made us feel right at home. *we arrived on the night bus at 7am and we’re ablr to checkin right away - great for weary travellers *hot water for showers always a plus *stunning views from the top floor dining area of Huascarán *comfortable beds *a little shared balcony off our room *Maruja and her husband were very accommodating on anything we asked for - very friendly
Cons: * noise on the street was loud - lots of dogs barking and vehicles passing with loud music made it hard to get to sleep. However, once asleep I wasn’t woken up!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host family was responsive, helpful, and friendly. They were always ready with tips and recommendations for activities in the local area. I felt like I was a part of their family. They kindly stored our excess luggage while we trekked in the Andes. I give my most sincere recommendation to La Casa de Maruja.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, The owners are well informed about the conditions in the mountains, Nice terrace with beautiful view to the Huascaran, Best pencakes in Huaraz!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was properly the best place we stayed in while being in peru! The place itself is very clean, good hot shower, basic breakfast and incredible view from a niece rooftop terrace. However best thing are the owners, they were helpful in every matter and made us feel like home. If you are planning to go trekking this is the perfect place to be. Hey can rent you things, and gilf, he owner is a guide himself and explains you everything. He also books you on tours for a good price. Pick up very early in the morning from the bus station was no problem either and we could check in to our room immediately. Also when coming back from trekking, we could return to our room and shower there.
Cons: The house is a bit outside of town, however taking a collective is no problem whatsoever and taxi is not expansive either.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were lovely. They helped me book all the treks I wanted to do and were very knowledgeable about the area. Room was very clean and comfortable. A nice rooftop kitchen area to hang out in.
Cons: The location is a out of the main centre but it is easy to catch a collective in and out of town
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gilf, Maruja, and the rest of the family, were very welcoming! Upon arrival we felt like we were visiting relatives. Always smiles and ready to help you with whatever you need. Breakfast every morning was excellent and coffee as good could not be found. They extended every possible resource to us as we made our way around the region trekking.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Super clean spacious rooms. You feel like in an expensive hotel. Loved it
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room was big, clean and had a Netflix tv.
Cons: The hotel’s sign was right outside our window and was lit at night, making the room very bright. The road was also quite noisy.
7.5 Good
Cons: Do not take the tours offered by their "trusted friend" who will just scan yo u and upsell tours of other operators. The hotel will get a percentage of this. Instead look for Tour operators like "Corazon de Jesus" or others that will offer you a fair price!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large room, great shower, comfortable bed, clean, good parking.
Cons: A kitchenette somewhere on the property would be nice.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The wifi was excellent (streaming video level!) at all rooms we stayed in (one on the second floor and one on the top floor!). The beds were really comfortable, the bathrooms kept really clean, towels provided, loads of space in the secure parking to park our car. Staff were pretty friendly and the breakfast was basic but good.
Cons: Not their fault, but the location is slightly out of town. But all good to get the legs moving. This isn't a 'hostel' in the European sense - it's a hotel. A good hotel, but absolutely no atmosphere from a traditional 'hostel' perspective.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super clean spacious rooms. Feels much more expensive then actually costs.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great value for the money, rooms are clean warm and comfortable.
Cons: It's not a good place for meeting other travelers.
6.3 Good
Pros: Warm shower, good wifi, good breakfast
Cons: no windows to the outside for our room so no possible ventilation. Staff was unfriendly and hotel was loud at night during the weekend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is top notch. Value is excellent: you get a big room with comfortable beds and a big and clean bathroom for 10$ per night. Water pressure in the shower is awesome as well. Breakfast is meh but for the price you cant complain. You get a serving of scrambled eggs, bread and juice or tea. I would definetly recommend
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect for the price.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were really great value for money. Super clean and comfortable. I was ill for 5 days and spent all day in the room. TV had plenty of channels to entertain me!
Cons: Breakfast was a little small for my partner. The place is a bit soulless and doesn't have a shared kitchen.

Pros: Wonderful friendly staff. Great value with great customer service. The TV clarity was fuzzy, but you don't go to Huaraz to watch tv anyway.

Pros: Stayed 4 nights before and after a trek in the Huayhuash. From the second you walk in you are treated like family. The place is clean and feels safe. Amelita is an amazing host! She set up taxis, got us on the right buses to the trails, had great food recommendations, and was able to get our laundry done on Mothers day when nothing was open. I've never had a bad experience with a hotel in Peru, but this was the best!

5.0 Okay
Pros: Selina was comfortable, as usual.
Cons: The staff was really unfriendly, they don't smile and don't help you. I even felt sorry for asking if there is a laundry, because they make me feel uncomfortable, while I'm a really social person. I had my backpack in the storage room and asked if I can get something out of it. And the only answer I got was, I'm not gonna open it the whole time. Just stay here if you want comfortable beds, otherwise go somewhere else.

Pros: Selina is such a beautiful and comfortable hostel. There are tons of common areas beautifully decorated to make you feel at home. Also, hot showers (if you are backpacking, you know this is not a guaranteed thing in all hostels!). I personally like that the bunk beds in the community rooms have a slide curtain to provide a bit more privacy :)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was simple, clean and organised. All the common bathrooms were clean and easy to access. The common kitchen and rooftop were comfy and welcoming :) we liked and recommend this hostel !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Constantly being cleaned and the showers were warm, which is needed after all the hikes. The kitchen is well equipped and has a nice big social area and terrace.
Cons: The fridge needs to be cleaned out more regularly as it is always full and many people in the hostel cook.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great common area for cooking , comfy rooms , hot shower and lots of help booking tours . Also in a great location near the local market
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice common area and kitchen, comfy solid beds with curtains, hot shower, good offer of tours/transport for hikes. Kept clean every day,
Cons: Altho the rooms were kept very clean, someone came in at 7am to clean the windows which was a bit much. The kitchen needs a desperate upgrade of pots and cutlery and there were lots of fruit flies cause people keep their fruit and veg in lockers instead of the fridge.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The dorm I was in had curtains a light and a wall outlet. There were really hot showers and I really liked the commun spaces. Great to get to know new people. Guests get 10% off the rental equipment.
Cons: Breakfast could have been included in the price. My dorm was facing the market, so quiete some noise day and night. They wanted to charge me for leaving my stuff for 2 hours in the luggage room after check out. (I took it with me to the commun area) They don’t really check who comes in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is awesome. Benjamin at the front desk does everything to arrange hikes and make your stay perfect. The facilities are great, good showers, big beds with a lot of space.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The beds were very comfortable, the room spacious, the staff very kind and helpful, and the shower quite consistently hot. The ability to book tours from the main desk was also a super convenient and affordable surprise.
Cons: Although the location was central and convenient, it was almost too close to the action: a massive market is across the street, making for a lot of noise at almost any time of day. Granted, this didn't bother me too much. Also, there were strangely very few outlets in our room--but again, that was a minor inconvenience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable beds, very friendly staff and very good location. Also the treks which this hostel offers are incredible!
Cons: -
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Definetely recommend booking at akilpo! The staff helped me with everything, rooms are clean and large communal area to meet other people. Also their travel agency is really good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The dorm rooms have exactly what a traveller needs: they are really clean, have a lot of space, closets, curtains, an extra rails to hang your towel, a place where you can hang your jacket, a light, a charging point besides the bed and a lot of space to put little stuff around your bed. Great great dorm rooms!! Great common room as well. Clean hostel, with good facilities. And warm showers.

Pros: The facilities, hospitality and helpfulness at Morales were beyond expecteations. Yovanna was extrememly helpful and made sure to take care of us at all times. Breakfast was delicious and filling with a great view of the mountains. The room was spacious and comfrotable as well. Thanks for a great experience!
Cons: The location is a 10-15 minute walk from most of the restaurants and shopping areas in Huaraz. While this is only a slight negative, it's important to note that the streets around Morales are less busy so much more quiet when needing a good night's rest.
