Very friendly staff, very clean and tucked away, dinner was nice and servers were very attentive.setting was beautiful ( we would have liked more choices of vegetarian food and seafood).
Staff driving golf carts too fast between buildings, snack bar outside not having better choices of fresh and healthy smoothies. Unfortunately breakfast was not good at all, old tomatoes and mushrooms in my Omelette. Pancake was completely flat.
lovely property, nice landscaping, great rooms - stylish, spacious, comfortable
Poor service quality, very clear this property does not care at all about non-recurring guests (assume they do care about their country club guests...) I was not asked at any point if and how i liked my stay. Stayed just one night, arrived very late in the evening, asked for late check-out the following morning as I was jet-lagged but was still hoping for an opportunity to explore the resort a bit, instead was "less than politely" presented with an option to purchase additional night. Did not appreciate nor expect this lack of willingness to accommodate my minor request from such a well-rated property
Took me 30-40 minutes to find my room, 506 in building five. It was dark when I checked in, and the front desk just gave me a property map, and said parking could be a little challenging. It was. There were 5 or 6 bellman/valets, and ot a single one offered to help me. They were busy parking cars and delivering cars and getting big tips. I have a large wrist brace on, and bellmen just pointed out how easy it was. Pissed me off, so I did not go back inside to front desk. Should have complained, demanded help with finding the room and unloading the 3 suitcases in the car. I was exhausted from a long day of travel from the Midwest, my wrist was killing me, and it was past room service time and had to go to local grocery store t get food. Today I called front desk and asked for someone to help me, girl at desk said she’d send a “ranchhand”. right down. No one showed up after about 15-20 minutes, so I had to take two trips to load my car. I’ll never stay there again. I’ll stay in Newport area and drive down to play the 9 hole golf course. Very nice, guys in pro shop were great, really great, rented clubs and spent time with me discussing the rentals, the course, matching me up with people they knew would be OK having a single paired up. Restaurant was nice, good food, excellent servers and bartenders. Just crummy hotel management..
Property is located beautifully in the Laguna, rooms were very clean, Food at the harvest restaurant was excellent. Waiters at the harvest restaurant were very friendly and supportive.
Housekeeping had not cleaned our room until 2:00 on the first day until we called housekeeping. Next day they knocked us out of bed by 8:00am for cleaning. There could be better coordination to ensure housekeeping cleans the room when guests are at the breakfast. Also we were 5 ppl and only received 1 bottle of shower gel. We asked housekeeping three days in a row to add more shower gel. On the third day we finally received additional bottles. While it wasn’t a major issue it was slightly annoying. Most five star hotels offer 1-2 bottles of free water. Housekeeping added 10 bottles of water in the room and it was not indicated that the water was charged separately. We found out much later only that the water bottles were charged. It could have been labeled more effectively. Check in was smooth. For check out we called the reception to check out over the phone. The agent noted down my details and assured me that an email with the final invoice would be send to my email. Three hours later there was still no email with the final bill. When I went to the reception desk my request for check out was not logged and my email had not been recorded as well. Did manual check out and the bill was correct. While the rooms were very nice there could be more hooks in the bathrooms and rooms. Especially with five people or was a challenge to accommodate the towels in the bathroom. The sucction hooks that were installed on the shower glass kept falling off which resulted in the towels always ending up on the floor.
All very goodNiy
