10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent and the food was delicious The staff were superb in meeting our needs Has a fabulous time
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Shower drain super slow. Needs some attention.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The view from the patio and the fact that dinner was included. We liked the soap/shampoo dispensers. Many hotels give the little annoying bottles that are hard to get product out of. The staff was very helpful and kind and easily accessible.
Cons: The elevators. We would be the first one on and people after us would push different floors and get taken and we would have to reswipe our card and put in our floors. Sometimes this happened multiple times on one trip. We ended up taking the stairs on numerous occasions.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: parking is a hassle (and too expensive)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was quite large, well-furnished, quiet and more than we expected. Price even included a very nice buffet dinner for all of us which was unexpected. Arranged for us to keep our car in the garage after we checked out with no additional charge.
Cons: No
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Included breakfast and kickback!!
Cons: The valet stole money from my car!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: We love hotel employee! The wind down meal with even a glass of wine is perfect. From warm cookies to popcorn to a rooftop patio, hotel employee is welcoming and warm. We even had a visit from the manager at breakfast. Well done, . We will stay
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The valet situation was super tight. There were multiple events coming and going. Obvious not something that can be altered. I can tell you that I had miscellaneous apple connectors attached in my truck for navigation and pieces of it were missing when the vehicle was returned to me. I chose to pick the truck up in the street due to the business of area at the time. I noticed when I went to get back on the highway and everything was torn apart. I did not file a report - I took it as my responsibility to empty the vehicle-I do know better. That does not reflect on my stay and would stay there again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were very friendly and accommodating
7.1 Good
Pros: location is so so, facilities is so so relatively low price
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Place was great
Cons: Wish I could have stayed longer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff was very accommodating which was a healing balm after a difficult experience I just had. The front desk person got me into a room early and let me park me car and welcomed me to have breakfast. I had a totally pleasant experience
Cons: no, the bed was a little too firm for me

Pros: Hotel is basically brand new and the location is very close to many different restaurant options/shopping and right next to main highway
Cons: The hotel didn't really have a real bar that you could sit at and have a drink if that's what your looking for. Just had a little side area with 2 beers on tap that had limited times of when you could get drinks but you did get a free drink slip when

9.6 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites! We are actually from the area and were staying here for my daughter's 12th birthday celebration. Check In was a breeze and the ladies at the front desk were top notch! One of them heard it was my daughter's birthday and gave her and her two friends skittles wich started off the stay on a night note. The rooms were furnished very nicely and had unique touches for people that may be staying for longer periods of time. There was even a phone charger for most devices connected to the room's telephone! (Except for android type C) The beds were very comfortable, with the nice thick comforters that you expect from a hotel. The bathrooms were a very decent size, with beautiful tile showers that were encased in glass with stainless steel (maybe?) Fixtures. The girls laughed that they could all 3 fit in the shower at the same time if they wanted to. The shower also had a ledge the perfect height for ladies to shave thier legs if need be. The sink was under mounted with sleek fixtures as well. There were 2 televisions in each room. One television in front of the bed, and another at the desk area in the livingroom space. The televisions are equipped with wi/fi for logging into your Netflix account if you chose to do so. The desk table could be used as such, or pulled out so that you could place the chairs on either side to have a dinner table. The comfortable couck is big enough for three to four people. One of the reasons we picked this hotel was because of the swimming pool for the kids. The pool area was very neat and clean. There was no overwhelming chlorine smell that tends to linger in indoor pool areas. The gym looked well equipped, although we did not use it. There is also a delightful courtyard off of the lobby, that you can also enter from the pool and gym area. The courtyard has a wooden fence around it that was decorated with hanging planters. There were a few tables and chairs.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Prompt service at the check in desk, very nice breakfast, clean and neat.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I did not care for the breakfast. I had the sausage and could not eat it, I did not like it at all. I thought the coffee (bold) was very good. The breakfast is not really that big of a part of my stay so it would not keep me from staying again. I foound the rooms very clean, especially the bathroom which is always a plus. I come to visit my niece and her family and the hotel is very convenient to her home. Next visit I am hoping to have more time to explore the area a little more.
Cons: The view from my room was not great, we looked out to the bright red lights of the movie theatre. If the curtain could close, not just the sheers, it would not have been a big deal.
7.9 Good
Pros: Really beautiful hotel. Very comfortable accommodations. Relaxing atmosphere in lounge areas and firepit. I was only here overnight as a pre-OP stay but have every intention of returning for maybe a few self-care days. Its surrounded by shops and practically steps away from the theatre. It's just enough out of the way for a perfect mini staycation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the whole experience was easy and wonderful the facility is comfortable and extremely clean the rooms are very spacious and bright
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good, the location was also good. I liked that there are regulars at the hotel that the staff was very good with, showed concern and compassion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This Fairfield Inn was very new. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. It was a great stay. The location is also convenient to shopping and to the large park.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location, very nice room and the price!
Cons: No bar/restaurant
Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh - Bedroom

9.2 Excellent (2,233 reviews)
C$ 256+
Overview Reviews
Where the storied three rivers meet in downtown Pittsburgh, your own story begins at Hotel Monaco. Housed in a striking 1903 building in the Central Business District across from Mellon Square Park, our boutique hotel has a playfully bold design that’s unafraid to make a statement. Across 248 guest rooms, 13 suites, and 11,300 square feet of meeting space, you’ll see curiously charming touches, like golden birdcage chandeliers, while many of our 13 suites boast separate living rooms with sleeper sofas, soaking tubs and views of the city skyline.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Room smelled of Body Odor of previous guest - it was disgusting!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Bottled water was $8.60. Absurd.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and hotel are amazing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Hotel Monaco is always fantastic! The staff does a wonderful job, the room is always spotless and in great condition, quiet, relaxing. We always stay at the Monaco whenever we are in Pittsburgh. We highly recommend the Monaco!
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Would like to see coffee maker, microwave and a fan or the ability to have the thermostat down below 67.
7.0 Good
Pros: It is a boutique hotel, different. Loved happy hr and coffee in am
Cons: Totally turned off w many pets at the hotel and muffy csrrying around the 2 lb dogs of the world. Big turnoff having animals on rooms i sleep in
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfortable. Room decor was funky and fun. Staff was friendly and responsive. Location was central. Happy hour was a nice bonus. The Commoner restaurant was outstanding; try the dessert with the fig cake and rye vanilla ice cream!
Cons: The elevator requires a room key, but you can only select the floor after the door closes; the elevators are tiny.
6.0 Good
Pros: It was a nice hotel
Cons: It was only a nice hotel. For 4.5 stars I expected to be blown away.
7.0 Good
Pros: I liked the location, decor, and staff.
Cons: The room's cleanliness wasn't up to the standards set at that price point. I don't mind paying high amount for a room, but I have a problem paying for a room that's a 6 out of 10 on cleanliness. This only would make it hard for me to stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was unique & beautiful! Loved the happy hour with free delicious drinks!
Cons: Can't think of a thing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has STYLE. Our girls lived it. Extremely comfortable beds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We appreciated the details in the decor throughout the hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff was pleasant and ready to assist us as soon as we arrived.

This hotel has 715 square feet (66 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was secure with lots of door locks and security camera's in the common area. I liked the coffee stand in the kitchen in Bldg F. The one bedroom suite was very nice and comfortable. I loved the SunnySide area which had lots of walkable restaurants.
Cons: I think the tub has been resurfaced and was extremely slick and there were no hand grabs which made it feel very hazardous for my size and age. I bought my own non-slip tub mat at Target and put it in my tub to reduce my slip/fall risk during showers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Shuttle is awesome. Plenty of room to get comfortable and enjoy Pittsburgh.
Cons: For busy morning a breakfast offered on property would be nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and lots of space.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was OUTSTANDING!!! The room was spacious and nothing was overlooked.
Cons: Size of bathroom (small), would have much preferred feather pillows, and needed towels for there as we registered for three guests. Only had towels for two. We realize we could have called and requested more, so this is minor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Safe residential location within walking distance to Carnegie Mellon and Walnut Street shopping. The 2 BR homey apartment with kitchen & living room/dining room is far better than a hotel room! The service provided by the staff is impeccable!
Cons: I wish the second bathroom would have enough room for 2 beds. One of our sons needed to use the comfy folding cot during our stay. It would be nice not to have to do that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Style of the suite, the location and the shuttle
Cons: No
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Way above what I expected!
Cons: No
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice and comfortable living area.
Cons: The single bedroom is on a very plain side. A long walk to carry the luggages
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Like the welcome bag, free parking, no long hallways with noisy guests stomping by. Staff very accommodating - ended up needing to stay longer and they let us keep the same room. Always friendly, even in the very late and very early hours. Plenty of room to spread out. Full size fridge and well stocked kitchen utensils and dishes
Cons: My husband has a bad knee, so someone who can't do stairs or has heavy luggage should be aware that there isn't an elevator. The hotel is still great, but that could be a problem that potential guests should know about.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Booked for parent's weekend at Pitt. A little too much space for what we needed but would definitely book again.
Cons: Only thing is that I'd bring my own pillow next time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super cute little boutique hotel. Nice details--welcome bag with water, chocolate, instant oatmeal and snack crackers was sweet. Front desk guy friendly and efficient. Lots of room in the room!
Cons: The desk area was extremely dark and there was no outlet available to plug in my laptop. So relocated myself and worked at the dining room table (we had suite) which was fine. Very bright, close to an outlet and a bigger workspace.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was super cool! We were shocked when we opened the door!
Cons: It got extremely hot in the bedroom. Outside location looked a little uninviting.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: - the historicity - the large, comfortable room - the convenient shuttle bus - the caliber of the staff - nice breakfasts - convenient parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming hotel with a homey feel. Cozy room, nice courtyard, and overall more peaceful than major hotels the shuttle service was a wonderful feature and Monk's Bar was a great way to unwind. Couldn't ask for a better experience
Cons: The bathroom was a tighter fit than I'm used to but not so bad as to change my mind about this place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the character of the building and its history and location
Cons: no
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The staff was Amazing and very helpful. The only thing I didn’t rate as Great was the location, only because it is a short walk to the major attractions and not in the best area, not that we had any issuess. But the hotel offered a free shuttle to all of the locations we were trying to go to. Also one of the few hotels offering Free parking. The small bar was really cool and had all the offerings I needed. The hotel is old but really neat and I appreciated all the fine details. The breakfast wasn’t out of this world , but it was free so I wasn’t complaining.
Cons: For the price and services I have no complaints .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness and welcoming atmosphere of the staff. Michael made sure we had all the information needed to make our stay perfect in the hotel as well as in the surrounding areas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the history of the property. The room was spacious and comfortable. Very convenient 1st floor so it was easy in and out to my vehicle. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was just right! The price was very affordable compared to other hotels.
Cons: we could hear the person upstairs walking around at 4am. The neighborhood did not seem safe when you got a block or two down the street.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a family-owned former monastery. It's an old building tucked at the end of a quiet street that's in a great central location; easy walking distance to the Warhol Museum, Children's Museum and baseball park, with the cultural district just over the bridge. The Priory has a free shuttle service and personable drivers (don't forget to tip them!) The rooms are clean and have everything you need but the place does remind me a little of the B&B in Groundhog Day, which is to say it may be too quaint and old fashioned for some. It's quiet and cozy.
Cons: Although I was very happy with my stay, the bathroom was small (just a shower, no tub) and the bathroom sink drained very slowly. The staircase is creaky and the carpeting is a little threadbare. I thought these things were charming but others may perceive them as dreary.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The repurposed facility is charming and near the city although extremely quiet. Having a bar for a nightcap is a plus
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself is quite charming and has character. Monk's Cafe is a great little bar where you can meet interesting people.
Cons: Only downside was that the neighborhood didn't seem to be the greatest. But the shuttle is only a five minute ride to downtown, so it wasn't that big a deal.
7.7 Good
Pros: Really nice old place with a lot of charm. Great historic building. Staff was really nice.
Cons: Bed was hard and rug looked like it might have not been vacuumed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and location
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely nice and knowledgeable of the area. The rooms were spacious and clean. Parking was close and the shuttle was a great bonus!
Cons: The street was not the nicest but that's not the hotel's fault.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were extremely friendly and always available. Excellent location with easy access to all sports arenas.
Cons: Nothing negative to say. Perhaps brochures/ pamphlets with local activities would help vacationers with planning and getting around this beautiful city
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bianca at the reception counter was so very helpful and recommended took my needs. Just next to market square: easy access to food
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was perfect, location was central to all our activities
Cons: Everything was great no complaints. Staff could have been a little friendlier.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location; a quick walk to the water, bridges, forts, but off on a quieter side street.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent front desk support from Doug
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was very friendly, the location was great.
Cons: Our view was of the air conditioning units, which later became less important once we had to deal with the guests next door. The couple was incredibly loud and using vulgar language. They argued from the time we arrived back at our room at 11 p.m. until the early hours. We were going to call the front desk once it was still continuing after 1:00 am but we believe they were intoxicated and didn't want to escalate the situation. We did inform the front desk during check out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very accommodating and professional
Cons: Just wish it had a swimming pool for the kids
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful!! Very clean and located in the best place close to everything!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, well maintained, and in a great location to access downtown pittsburgh/ market square attractions. My other guest forgot her key and I was asleep, but the concierge was very friendly and gave her another. Much appreciated.
Cons: Parking is expensive - would appreciate a discount for hotel stayers.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Security in Elevator
Cons: The parking for $30.00 per night is outrageous. I used to live there and hotels 1 block down the street charges less than that and they valet your vehicle. As you enter the hotel it smells like suagge and smells the same in the room.
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was nice and didn't suck.
Cons: The location was downtown Pittsburgh, lots of bums/homeless people hanging around. Loud noises most of the night made for a sleepless night. No complimentary breakfast. No shuttle service. Parking was $30!

Pros: Great location
Cons: Did not clean the room.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The fact that it is close to downtown and the Strip District. Also, it has free parking and breakfast.
Cons: The room decor was out dated with the dark color scheme and furniture. The TV was extremely small and the tiles in the bathroom were broken.
4.0 Okay
Cons: The rooms are set up with a door which can be opened for adjoining rooms. This door is metal, and when closed and locked it acted like a resonator. I could hear all the noise from my very loud neighbors as if they were in my own room.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: A couple joined us last minute causing us to extend our trip and subsequently our stay we just asked for a bigger room to accommodate us. The gentleman at the desk made countless errors including charging a card he didnt have authorization to charge but

Pros: Staff helpful & courteous. Room very nice.
Cons: Lobby & lobby bar area uncomfortably cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel and excellent staff enjoy my stay
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No
8.0 Excellent
Pros: nice rooms, friendly staff
Cons: Had to make a reservation for 1 night (Thursday night) and then add an additional 2 nights on a separate reservation ( Wedding Block). This was very time consuming and difficult. I would recommend that for a Wedding Block an additional night be added on both ends of the stay. The reception was being held at the Hotel and we weren't sure why it was so difficult to have a single reservation for our stay. There were many guests of the Wedding staying at the Hotel and we didn't feel like having to make multiple reservations for a stay was good customer service. We booked 2 rooms for Thursday night, and then 2 rooms for Friday and Saturday night. We therefore had multiple reservations with varied pricing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and always clean..
Cons: Nope
6.0 Good
Pros: Nice windows. Modern furniture, comfortable mattress. The TV was nice.
Cons: Not enough light in the room. Very poorly lit at night. The coffee pot was hidden in the dresser. I think there should be a place by the ice bucket for the coffee maker. Found it right before we left and was disappointed. Could hear every door on the hallway opening and closing. The hair dryer was sad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was gorgeous...and the view from our windows were outstanding. The ladies couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was. The service was great and the breakfast was delicious. We had a great time and we're looking forward to coming again!
Cons: Nothing!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Parking
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, and comfortable enough. Our room had a nice view. The infused water in the lobby was a real treat.
Cons: It seemed a little costly for what you get. I was hoping for a more luxurious bathroom, for instance. Not that the bathroom was bad or anything, it just didn't seem to fit the price tag of the room.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very clean and swanky hotel. The restaurant was excellent, as were their employees!
Cons: There was no complimentary water bottles, no couch or sitting areas in the room, and the hotel was extremely cold in temperature, especially the lobby/bar/restaurant.

With a stay at Ace Hotel Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh (East Liberty), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of University of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great lobby vibe, excellent restaurant, well-appointed rooms with full amenities (including room service).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room. Fun lobby and restaurant, with great food. Will be back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the way they restored the old ymca Building but still keeping its historical Look
4.0 Okay
Pros: Restaurant was good. The soap in the room smelled good.
Cons: Nothing stands out as really bad, but the experience gradually whittled away satisfaction with the stay. Bar stools unusually uncomfortable. Other lobby furniture equally so (and dirty). Actually, doesn't appear to be a comfortable chair in the entire hotel. Folding metal/canvas chair in room good for camping--useless otherwise. Rainfall showerhead placed 6 inches from the wall--took a shower uncomfortably close to the front of the shower enclosure. Bathroom light too dim for wife to put on makeup. Initial impression of stylishness gave way to a dorm-like feel. More like an Ikea infused Super 8 accessorized with thrift store accessories. $9 (small) plastic cup of wine served at the event in the "gym" was likely from a box of Franzia Blush spigotted into a bottle for for the pretense of a pour. By the the following morning, when the barista dude said "three bones, my man," for a paper cup of coffee, I had reached my affectation limit. Anyone over 40, stay away.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: I am not the first person to mention this but the housekeeping department really needs to dust the rooms. There were dust bunnies in the bathroom and dust on hanging items that clearly anyone could see. Lastly they need to take down and clean the shower curtains as they are stained near the bottom.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Style of the hotel, bar and restaurant.
Cons: I booked for a week and couldn’t understand why I was charged more for a Friday and Saturday. I think you should be charged a set room rate on a booking of 7 nights.
4.2 Okay
Pros: It was horrible.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has a very hip look while being unpretentious. It has a lively atmosphere and very friendly staff. At night, the lobby, bar, and restaurant areas are definitely noisy--no need to worry with your (older) kids being loud. We were pleased with the spacious bedroom, cool design, and comfortable bed. The restaurant is great for dinner (steak and deep fried brussel sprouts) and especially for breakfast (eggs benedict). Great bar as well.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicely remodeled in the style of the building. Very comfortable and quiet.
Cons: We found on street parking, if not parking is a bit expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and atmosphere were great.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I am a huge ACE friend and have been staying at ACE in London, LA, Palm Springs, Chicago, NY.... For me the style and the ambiance is so perfect. I enjoy the service attitude and the community, that stays at ACE:

Pros: The on-site restaurant was excellent (The Whitfield, I believe) though I'd make reservations. The staff was great

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility staff was absolutely wonderful. Chris and Brandi were great! The rooms are modern, clean and spacious. The main lobby is beautiful and inviting.
Cons: Nothing bad against the hotel or staff. Our 1st night of 5 was disturbing due to the entire floor being filled with families in town for a youth hockey event and we didn't get much sleep. The staff was nice and immediately accommodating the next morning. They moved us to the top floor where none of the hockey families where staying. The rest of our stay was wonderful after that.
