Want to cruise through Nashville in style? Whether you are visiting the “Athens of the South” (as Nashville is commonly known) for business or leisure, renting a convertible car allows you to explore the city’s top attractions and hidden gems at your convenience. With your rented convertible, you will have the luxury of creating a memorable experience in a way that you otherwise wouldn’t when using public transportation. From the famous Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to the Hermitage, the Adventure Science Center to the Historic RCA Studio B, there is no shortage of places to visit and things to do in Nashville.
Start your stay in Nashville stress-free by booking your convertible from one of the reputable car rental companies at the Nashville International Airport. Picking up your rented convertible within the airport, located about 10 miles from the city center, allows you to start your Nashville trip as quickly and conveniently as possible. This international airport is equipped with its own car rental facilities that are easily accessible from all terminals. Some good deals from the rental companies in Nashville, like from Enterprise or Budget are available if you book your rental convertible car through KAYAK.
Driving around Nashville comes with its share of challenges. As with most major metropolitan areas, there are a few of things you need to note for seamless driving in this city. Nashville has high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes on most of its interstates and highways. These lanes tend to have less congestion during peak hours, allowing vehicles with more than two occupants to get past heavy traffic. Throwing trash out of your vehicle while driving is a punishable offense in the state of Tennessee, and so is holding a cell phone while driving. Seat belts are mandatory for the driver as well as the passenger in the front seat. Passengers in the backseats are required to have their seatbelts on if they are 17 years old or younger.
Finding free parking in Nashville can be a huge challenge. However, there are several paid parking lots in downtown Nashville; parking rates will vary based on the time and event of the day. Parking prices tend to skyrocket when there is a major sporting event or concert in the city and demand outstrips supply. You can also opt for metered parking, which is a much cheaper alternative to parking in a lot. Metered street parking is usually ideal if you are going to be in an area for a short duration.
Book your convertible car rental in Nashville at least 1 day before your trip in order to get a below-average price
January is typically the cheapest month to rent a convertible car in Nashville, with prices around C$ 81 per day. The most expensive month is July, with average prices of C$ 120 per day.

I still have not received my refund from Hertz! I called them and they required me to submit a form which I did, and I’m still waiting. I will never do this again.

Didn’t get to rent a car because the people told me over the phone that I had to use the card. When I got there, they told me I had to use a credit card and that I also couldn’t rent it because I was a resident of Nashville and this was at the Nashville airport. You guys charge me $16 to cancel my trip, after I wasted an hour, making it to the airport. Sorry but, your customer service is terrible, the people on the phone lead me into a dead end, and I’ll never use the service again, especially after you guys stole my money and my time from me. I had somewhere to be, and the guy at the front desk said there’s a place in Charlotte Pike after I had gotten a ride there to the airport with no time left to need a ride. My day was ruined. Thanks

I was a little concerned renting from a company that is fairly unknown but it turned out to be a great choice! The car was almost brand new and the whole process was simple and easy. Their website was a little difficult to maneuver because I kept getting the information in a different language. I ended up calling a very nice gentleman to change my pickup time and he took care of it all within a couple of minutes!! When we returned the car, there was a very nice young man that made that process a breeze! I would definitely recommend this company because it did seem to be a little cheaper and everyone that I met was very nice and helpful!

Supplier choice

The following is not necessarily the fault of Kayak. With this above said, this was my worst car experience I’ve had with any rental company. This vehicle was not safe to be driven. It has a lot of mechanical issues with over 70,000 miles. This is not normally a problem for a Toyota, but it is clearly evident that this vehicle has not been maintained for the last year. The sticker on the windshield leads me to believe the oil has not been changed for over 30,000 miles. The tires are going bald and the car needs new brakes. The alignment is off kilter and the steering wheel had to be turned 20-30 degrees to the left in order to keep the car straight. I have already attempted to contact dollar on this matter because this was the first time I felt unsafe driving a car that was not mine. Aside from that the vehicle was fuel efficient and if they fix the car, it should last many more years.

Claimed there were no vehicles available to us despite us having a booking confirmation and there being vehicles in the lot. Evidently over booked them selves. We ended up missing a large portion of our planned trip and lost all the associated costs with that as we were not able to find suitable alternative.

The Avis system was down and we were unable to pick up our rental. The Avis airport staff were not helpful. We had to call Avis ourselves to cancel the rental. We were charged the full price and then refunded only a portion of the fees. They owe us $100. We’ve not been able to get a complete refund as the Avis telephone team couldn’t locate our reservation to help! Absolutely the poorest customer service in the airport and with their telephone and chat teams.

My experience with Avis was horrible. There was a deposit policy that wasn’t clearly stated and the money couldn’t be split between 2 credit cards. They didn’t accept cash or debit cards, making my reservation obsolete. When I asked the clerk if there was anything I could do, he seemed to take a little pleasure in telling me there was nothing he could do. Instead of being stranded in Nashville with an Avis reservation I couldn’t redeem, I went across to Enterprise and rented a nice vehicle through them with no deposit on the spot. I would never rent through Avis because there are too many strict rental restrictions that make a recreational traveler inconvenienced.

Passenger Van

We specifically ordered a ford transit van to fit 7 people and 7 luggages and they gave us a mini van. I would have ordered the mini van or similar to make it cheaper if that were the case but I picked the ford transit to make sure we had enough space. When I arrived they said they don't even carry that vehicle. So I've been lie too.

The first car had drugs, some white powder substance. I only found one individual baggie but that was enough. It took a while to get exchanged. I did get another SUV and got it home to realize the key fob was slowly dying. Over the course of four days, it got to the point where I couldn’t lock or unlock the vehicle and it wouldn’t recognize the key fob while driving. I had to exchange it. I take it an hour back to the airport. They try to put another battery in it and that doesn’t work. So it’s something computer related with the fob. They say, “No problem, we will exchange it.” Great! I got another vehicle and it worked out. However, when I turned in the final vehicle I got a bill for a transfer fee and a few other fees I already paid with the original purchase. The problems here are, the drugs cost me a lot of time and they weren’t even going to compensate me at all. They ended up just giving me a voucher. The key fob issue was a huge inconvenience because I was going camping so I got the car very early so I could pack based on the vehicle I got. I did that. I packed everything. I was ready to go and couldn’t lock or unlock the car. I can’t go on a camping trip with something like that! It’s not safe or reasonable. It delayed my trip by about five hours. I had to unpack the SUV and repack it, with no help from the rental car company. The worst part was they charged me for a transfer but not until I returned the final vehicle.

Complete rip off! Said they were in the airport (where at least six other companies are) - they aren’t; plane was an hr delayed so they gave away the car and said they were sold out but kept our money for the weeks rental!! Only a call center number with an unhelpful staff person. Left us robbed of our money for services not rendered and unhelpful in any way to resolve the issue. Would never rent from this company ever again and will be flagging the charge with credit card company.

Car was in excellent condition and clean. The big problem was that it was advertised as being in the airport, but it was not. The staff was nice, but it took much longer to get the car than we anticipated, as the computer was acting up when we finally got to the location. If we weren't in a time crunch getting out of there, it would have been fine, but we were rushed and this caused stress. On the way back, the people were very nice, and we got a shuttle within about 10-15 minutes.

1. The line to redeem my rental voucher at the rental car desk was sooooo long. There was only 1 person working it, which later became 2. But the line was 30 people. None of the other rental companies had a long line. Just this one. 2. The license plate tag was ripped. 3. Overall it just felt like there was not enough attention paid to the customer experience. Lots of attention to keeping it a lean cost center... but def understaffed.

It took so long waiting in line to get to the counter. I had to reschedule the plans that I made for my brothers bachelor party. It ruined the whole day. I waited for an hour and a half just to be able to get to the line to rent the car. Maybe there are more people needed at the front desk during times of high demand. The car was nice. It wasn’t super clean. The windows were dirty and it smelled like someone had smoked in it before. Other than that it was a good experience.

Beware! If booking a car with unlimited mileage, this isn’t actually true if you are using a TN drivers license and picking up the car in TN. There is a 100-mileage limit per day, meaning you can’t take the car to another state. This wasn’t explicit when booking, it’s only listed in the fine print. I’ve never heard of this policy… especially not when the car is advertised as unlimited mileage. The customer service was horrible and no one at Nu could fix the issue for me.

My flight was slightly delayed arriving to Nashville. As I was exiting the plane, I called NU Car to tell them I was on my way. The girl who answered was obviously in her kitchen washing dishes. I told her to please tell the agent at the location that I’ll be there in ten minutes. It was 6:54pm and they close at 7:00. She said, “I can’t do that, we’re closed.” I said, “how can you be closed if it isn’t 7:00?” She said, “I’m sorry it isn’t possible.” So I had to take a Lyft into the city and come back the next day. When I arrived at the NU Car location the next day, I found out why. There aren’t real people working at the location. There are screens with agents, and you walk up to the screen and talk to someone at a remote location working from home. As far as having options on who to rent from, I’d never rent from this place again.
